I love looking at different American accents (I'm English), but there's always such divided opinions on whether it's right or not. So I never tell whether an accent is authentic or not! But if this is how people speak in Baltimore, I fucking love it. Minnesota and Baltimore accents are currently my favourite two American accents as an Englishman.
I...can't...stop..watching...this. It's the O's shirt. I'm from the hills of VA, but I pledge my allegiance to the O's. I wish everyone talked like this.
Spot on! I talk like that. LOL. I'm from Hampden, Baldamore (Baltimore). I say mayonnaise sandwich like man-ayse samits. Us Hampdenites speak heavy Bawlmerese.
He said "Old Bay Sandwich". That's awesome. Where else in the world can you get an Old Bay sandwich? I'm from VA, but I used to work up there, and that is dead on Bawlmer. Y'all have the coolest accent in the whole country, and I tell people this whenever I can.
That was actually pretty close... (especially the "O's" that sort of sound like "ehuh") There are some other things they say there, like "gehuhin' to see the Orals baseball team" and "havin' a glass of worter hwal [while] wishing [washing] the clehuhthes", and maybe having a "pit beef sandwich fer lunch".
Thats spot on!!! haha everyone talks like that here. I dont really have it cause Im colombian but Ive lived here for 3 years and I cant even imitate it as well as you!!!
Right on TessieLynn, both my parents are from Dundalk, and that accent is dead on. It used to embarrass me so much how loud and belligerent I thought they sounded. And my mom does the hon thing and all. I don't care now. I love that accent, it reminds me of my childhood. Ridin down from da couny (HarCo) to see my babka in Dundok. Eatin some captain Harvey's steak subs, goin downe ocean in da summertime... God I miss it!
Love it, sounds like my family! Not everyone talks that way of course, just like not everyone in North Carolina talks with the exact same accent, but def some people do. Ive lived in the midwest for 20 years, but when i hear that accent i always ask "are you from maryland?" and ive never been wrong.
*GET A OLD BAE SANDWICH WITH MAYONNAISE ON IT, YEAUHH* Lived in MD my whole life. I fucking love this shit. My dad and uncles de-evolve and start talking like that when they start ranting about stuff they hate.
@tinaUNDAcova been there- but I ended up hearing the accent in the "baltimore accents are hilarious video" which sounds much more like an authentic baltimore accent.
yea the bawdimore accent is in some cases very subtle....i personally just say some words with the accent ool-oil warsh-wash and my favorite "You goin downey oshin"
Well i live in baltimore and that accent brought me back to my senior year in high school cuz my math teacher sounded just like that so i guess its some truth to this.
To all the people saying this is not a Baltimore accent, it is. This is a dying accent, you won't hear it from many people under 45. It is mainly a blue collar white accent.
Which is ironic since the detective Munch is based on, Jay Landsman, naturally speaks with a Baltimore accent. His personal opinion of his home town, I don't know.
How the hell could you claim to have lived in Baltimore your whole life & never heard this accent? My god!
*"GET AN OL' BAY SANDWICH WIT MAYONNAISE ON IT, YEAH."*
It hits too close to home, even 11 years later.
You mean maaanaise. Lol
this video is back from when youtube was still good
Before Google Plus fucked this site up... 😒
And back when MD wasn’t a corrupt feeding ground.
Haha, I grew up in Anne Arundel County, and this accent takes me back to my childhood. I feel all nostalgic now.
I love looking at different American accents (I'm English), but there's always such divided opinions on whether it's right or not. So I never tell whether an accent is authentic or not!
