My son, Landon, was named after “A Walk to Remember”. I wanted his name to mean something. I wanted him to know there are second chances, we can move on from our past, and when we’re open to it- love can happen. His middle name is after my friend who died of cancer when we were teenagers as a reminder that tomorrow is never promised.
your comment made me almost cried. I would cry if only I'm not at the middle of my grandma's house, but in my room instead hahah. So sorry for your loss, your son has a great name, just as great as his mother.
this is so beautiful and makes me tear up. as someone whose childhood best friend of 13 years fought cancer when we were 7 years old. i’ll never forget seeing her go through that, and my heart goes out to people who lost their loved ones to cancer
She is actually a contralto. That's her natural voice. She sung in a higher register when she was younger that's why she cant sing the higher keys live.
I think she probably faked that small voice sound when she was younger much like Britney Spears. I noticed when she left the typical pop music her voice sounded very different.
It is only lowered a step down. It's more comfortable. That is why she asked him "Is this the key we were talking about?" Many singers do, you get older, lower keys or it's early in the morning and yes, for recordings, the studios often want their female artists to have the sweet baby girl voice because they think it's more appealing to their projected audience, young girls. Any number of reasons. She sounds good, no matter.
@@robeenero Agreed. I loved listening to her early pop music, but her mature voice is very nice to listen to. She looks more natural singing this way too.

I agree but there are so many factors, you cant just have a beautiful voice , they need to be pretty enough or edgy enough or willing to do whatever music the label tells them to or dress how they want them to
As someone who’s grown up in the music industry I’m going to assure you that’s not the case. It sucks but if you aren’t marketable? You don’t get the contract. It’s a lot different today, but you still have to be sellable. Some artists don’t reveal they’ve been married for years because they sell better when their fan base thinks they ‘could have a chance.’ Sometimes they’re asked to hide their sexuality or lie about their origin story. I can’t tell you how many truly amazing bands and artists that never made it because they weren’t pretty enough or they didn’t perform well to audiences or they didn’t want to be shackled to a label. American Idol gave us this dream that ANYONE could make it. That’s not necessarily true. If you ever look at the contracts for any realty show, they essentially own your image for a certain amount of time and they can make you look like an Angel or a Demon as well as misrepresent your story and you cannot do ANYTHING to correct the assumption until you are no longer bound by contract. The reason Mandy is consistently slept on is because she was marketed in the Britney/Christina era. Her talent was lost in a sea of girls who were more marketable. It had nothing to do with her talent. It had to do with an oversaturation of people who looked like her and music that failed to distinguish itself as different in that world. It freaking sucks. Things have changed a lot, for better or worse, when it comes to keeping a fan base fed & happy. But they didn’t have those outlets then and niche fans only go so far when numbers matter.
@@becalorawalker356 Yep and notice the shows make them what they want them to be which is not necessarily their style or their own songs.... The studios and producers told them what they would be doing which is reminiscent to how the studios owned movie stars back in the day....

Chrizzy Cortez the only thing that changed was she left her beautiful natural golden honey blond hair back there in the past...idk why she keeps it brown when her natural color is so gorgeous

We saw this in the 90s/2000s where they had all these girl and boy bands and Britney Spears, Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson... The studios and producers told them what they would be doing which is reminiscent to how the studios owned movie stars back in the day....
Great song! The scene with this song in the movie is unforgettable. I will never forget how Landon looked at Jamie as she sang. Classic scene. Then I realized that a spark of love had ignited between the two actors
It did. Still pissed they never reunited. Shane was a gentleman and never did anything then bc she was 15 but it surely did.
She’s honestly a real life Disney Princess ☺️☀️💕
Yep, very true!
The simplicity and clarity of her voice are so soothing to the ear.
Philippines!!!! Mandy Moore is very popular in the PHILIPPINES!!!
I love this song so much. Strange that’s she’s hardly sung it. When I think of Mandy Moore this is probably the first song that comes to mind.
This and the song from center stage. I hated candy though lol 😆
Mandy Moore coming out of nowhere to crush my 15 year old heart all over again, 20 years later. Thanks Mandy. Thanks a lot. (Seriously though, shivers and actually choked up). Come on!
Mandy Moore will always be iconic. This song is a yes from me.
She’s so blessed with the gift of acting and singing.
So sad that JLo is only good at dancing 😂
I love the way the guitarist played this version. Give him some credit. And well, Mandy, how can you not love her and this song. Fantastic
Nazar Rabadi 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
HE is Shane West her prtner in the movie where she sang the song. He was part of the boyband westlife
@@T-cherTin lol Taylor the guitarist here is her husband in real life. Shane West is the actor in AWTR and is completely different from the other Shane from Westlife 😂
@@Doyamn I hope this comment was a joke as I'm laughing so hard 😂
@@nicnactruelove8519 why would you be laughing? it was applause
I just love the way Mandy's husband looks at her🥰
Me too it’s so sweet and cute
THE POLKA DOT DRESS LIKE THE ONE HER "MOM" MADE HER BUY IN "BECAUSE I SAID SO" I"M DYINNNGGGGGG
Ahhhhh yes
gaya.marina it was the first think I thought of when I saw the dress! Lol how funny. She is so beautiful.
I thought the same thing!!!
Yassss
Same thing I thought!
The Way he looks at her in awe of her is amazing😊😍
keith bergstedt is that her husband?
@@aileenguerzoni4798 Yes i think so
Still makes me cry..22 yrs later.
What a beautiful voice!!!
I love the original version, because it sounds like an angel singing it. However, she has grown up a lot and her voice did too, and it sounds really really gooood 💙
but her version is just a cover .. the original one is from the band switchfoot
Oh you mean a rendition? I was referring to how she performed it in the movie :)
I bet while shes singing this, the memories from her movie are flashing on her mind
Yup
Taylor Holloway why does she consider it a nightmare?
Truly one of my favorite songs that Mandy sings. So simple and pure.
What a beautiful grown up version.
Her voice sounds different, but nice ❤️

Oh sweet nostalgia a walk to remember made such an impact on my life literally no matter how many mistakes you make there are still second chances to do better as my mom always says : there are no bad people there are good people that make bad choices… I hold those words so close to my heart!!!!!
Her voice is still as therapeutic as when she first sang this song almost 20 years ago. I am crying😭
Ahhhh! I walked down the isle to this at my wedding 11 years ago! 😭😭😭😭💗💗💗
💟💟💟
💜
Ahhh... That's lovely... The song does bring back beautiful memories...
Mandy, YOUR voice has always been magical! Such beauty when you sing and you're very beautiful all around! Your songs are still some of my favorite! ❤❤❤
“I held her close to me with my eyes closed, wonering if anything in my life had ever been this perfect and knowing at the same time that it hadn't. I was in love, and the feeling was even more wonderful than I ever imagined it could be.” - Nicholas Sparks
I love Nicholas Sparks Books 👍🏼
Wow 20 years ago and seems like it was yesterday, she’s still Mandy Moore that I knew 20 years ago, nothing has changed, I was high school then but I still remember her vividly and I couldn’t forget her movie (the super heartbreaking movie I’ve ever watched) wow! More of you Many please 😍
How old are you?
Chrizzy Cortez the only thing that changed was she left her beautiful natural golden honey blond hair back there in the past...idk why she keeps it brown when her natural color is so gorgeous
Heather Hale actually her hair was only light as a small child, then it got dark, there’s photos of her in the 7th grade and her hair was completely brown like now.. she then colored it for a while when she started but that wasn’t her color, it was fake even if it looked natural
laramiaizz I am mid 30’s now .. hehehe
@@khrizzcharvi9778 oh, same..lol..
Gosh she hasn’t aged even a tiny bit! Stunning woman inside and out ❤️❤️
She needs to do what Jojo did and rerelease her old songs with that matured voice!
philmon88 ITS NOT HER SONG. ITS SWITCHFOOT’S. Disgusting how they gave no credit to the original band
I never knew that..I love switchfoot's "Dare you to Run". I have a tiny channel and I give credit to the writers.
@@fabulouslifeinchrist1349 dare you to move. But it's okay
Crisscross it was on insta live...
Reminds me of that scene where she walked down the aisle, and the play where Landon got mesmerized and kissed Jamie ❤.. such a classic movie, definitely one of my favorites.
Her voice is so pure
That was so beautiful - JESUS is our only hope!
“A Walk to Remember” is one of my favorite movies and I love “This Is Us”. Mandy Moore keep sharing your beautiful voice and acting gifts! Thank you for blessing us during this stay-at-home time! 💕
Wow long time no hear this song but u know I watched her movie A Walk to Remember and it's one of my favorite movie thanks for sharing
Yes! God is our only hope to make it thru this, WE need to seek Him now more than ever. He is our lifeline and our answer to getting thru this. He is reaching out to everyone reading this, all you have to do is take His hand. Jesus loves you and died for you and was raised again, just believe 💝
And she sang at last I see the light from tangled. Brilliant song
Lisa Crouch - Don’t say ‘we’. He might be yours but not all of us follow your beliefs and propaganda. Religion is a swear word to some. Remember that and keep it within your own home. Stay safe and healthy.
Jesus answered: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
After I’ve A Walk To Remember I became soft, I became a crybaby when watching sad movies which never happened before.
This is before Sparks movies
I'm not much of a romance movie watcher... This one took me by surprise years ago and I loved it then and now. And this song brings it all back. Great to see!
rockmusic rocks Just to let you know, A Walk To Remember is actually loosely based off of Nicolas Sparks’ late sister who died of cancer. Her husband proposed to her knowing that she was sick just like Landon. So it did actually happen. Still my favorite movie to this day!
@@kurlykpopfan8111 a favorite of mine (and now my daughters too)!
A Walk to Remember will always be one of the greatest and most classic movies ever. The Theme song itself and the names of the characters will automatically make you remember it and reminisce about every scene.
The way he looks at her, that's love!
Been looking at the comments to see if someone else noticed it. Haha. So sweet 😍
In a day where we have auto tune, digitally adjusted pitches, ranges falsely pushed beyond what is possible for the singer, it’s so wonderful to have Miss. More singing beautifully, naturally, and proudly. We have too many “performers “ that can’t really sing these days. Mandy is a true talent.
oh my goodness❣️❣️❣️ Mandy! wow. never stop singing … what a Godly gift.
A walk to remember was such a powerful story and movie that I wanted to cry listening to this because it reminds me of how the movie ends lol 😭
Nikki Schlicht I loved this movie sm. Wow can’t believe how long it has been!
This gives me goosebumps, it took me back again on my college years when “A walk to remember” was the most watched movie among teens in the Philippines💜
This was my walking down the aisle song when I got married. It was actually the piano version
That's beautiful!!
I hope some day I'll walk down the aisle with this song too...!!!! ❤️
I really like Mandy Moore since high School days up til now that I'm already 33 I still like her
Remelyn Mallari I’m 32 and feel the exact same :) watching this video helped me escape from the current for a few moments. Loved it

I’ve sang this song a billion times to myself. “A Walk to Remember” is a classic movie!!!
Its actually my fave movie in the world😅
I almost cried... She's so beautiful 😭❤️
I never complain when Mandy is singing.
You shouldn’t either.
omg this brought me back to high school 😔20 years ago....
This movie was released 2002.. if 20yrs ago so you're living at 2022.. last time i check its only 2020 right now..i think you're time traveler..
@@timetraveler1389 And I think you're an IDIOT who maybe never went to high school because if you did, you'd know that people go to high school for FOUR YEARS. So yes, the movie came out in 2002, but I was in high school from 1999 - 2002. Now you do the math moron.
Hahaha ok lets do the math, the movie was released 2002 so thats 2020-2002 thats 18, so the movie is 18 years old, so your 20 years ago banter is not possible. Hahahaha
Movie was released 2002 bubba
Mr.timetraveler did you learnd subtraction back in high school? I'll repeat it was released 2002, and thats your final year in highschool so 2020-2002=18 ..thats 18yrs ago when you're in highschool dumbass! Do your math idiot😂
Awesome song & movie with Shane West....Big tearjerker.
lol I also love how Mandy plays the mother on "This Is Us", but she's also the youngest adult in the cast.
And she hasn’t won an award for her portrayal! Infuriating lol no but really how come she hasn’t been recognized? Takes a lot of hard work
Is it just me or im just waiting on her to put her hands everytime when she sings the word “pray” 🙏🏾
I was hoping for it too
@@tysonw1797 ... it was from a scene in A Walk to Remember. When Mandy sang the song on stage she placed her hands together when she sang the word pray.

Mandy Moore is just so pretty IMO. Like a timeless beauty. I’m so glad she hasn’t messed with her face lol.
I mean, she is very young still, not even 40 yet.
Like a vintage fine wine, Mandy Moore's pristine voice is getting better through the passage of time. This timeless ditty never fails to hit me hard. Truly a classic!
When you stumble across a song that saved your life when you were giving up! I'm in my feelings crying like the first time. Love this Mandy!
That's her hubby omg. Cuz at first I'm like damn she got mad chemistry with this man. Haha I was like her hubby better watch out. And then I looked up her hubby and he looks like this dude. And he has a band too. So I'm like oh ok so this is her hubby Taylor. I was like she flirting and looking so in love with this man. Oops. It's her hubby taylor. They sound so beautiful together
