This is just as bad as trying to pass a women in her 20's as the younger sister in the first two episodes. She came off as silly and strange. And putting her in braids and a huge bow to try to make her look younger was just awful. Who did the casting in this?? Just off the mark in some cases.
I remember this well. I believe Clayhanger was broadcast on 1st January 1976. I was 13. I found it riveting.
Shorthand must have been as revolutionary as the computer, in many ways. I never realized that. And it can still be very useful.
This is a high quality series. Pity the lighting used is so dark. Goes with the menacing times I suppose.
The casting of Hilda seems questionable; she is supposed to be 20, but looks closer to 40. I think she was 37 at the time.
agree

I’m not able to find Kensigtonian , or Kensintonian. Does anyone know the correct spelling of that type of English being taught?
It's a reference to the posh language used at the time in Kensington in London
why don't they take a 20 or 25 year old woman for the young woman role, instead they get a 40 year old middle aged woman.👎👎👎
