Hey this is my kit, thanks for the honest review! Hope it is still working well for you. There is that perfect spot like you found where it is just loose enough while not clamped to slip onto the wheel base and then the clamp provides the secure fit.
there is a 6 m bolt that goes into the spindle and is supposed to lock it into place. its to keep the pins from twisting or breaking with in the spindle. if the wheel is modded Fanatic wont cover the warranty on the wheel. for this sorry but its a no go for me.. ive already had the back of my wheel at those locking brackets break on both top and bottom.
I'd agree generally. I used this myself (kit creator) for probably 6 months before upgrading my wheel and sold close to 100 of these without anyone messaging me about long-term issues. Easily reversible and mainly solves an issue of creating a quick release for the CSL wheels.
@@cmschmidt15 I got this kit and its been working great for a few years now. Great stuff! I can’t understand how the official Fanatec solution even got past the R&D phase. This is so much better!
@@SweDownhill Awesome good to hear, I'm not selling anymore because Etsy folks knocked it off but was a good run. Glad to know it has kept up to a few years of abuse.

Turn the lever 180 degs around, and it will neatly wrap around the axle. Just like on a bike.
Youve the lever backwards.... Looks like a great solution to me to be honest. I have issues with the factory clamp slipping.
