  • The Joint Research Centre has developed the Photovoltaic Geographical Information System (PVGIS) to help determine the best installation of solar panels so as to generate the maximum amount of electricity, taking into account aspects such as the technical specifications, quantity and orientation of the installed panels and the geographical location. Also known as photovoltaic systems, solar panels can be a clean and independent energy solutions to help reduce energy bills and the environment.
