How is the subscription software? I have played piano for years and don't really need basics, but I'm frustrated at how much skill I lost and could use a motivator.
Its REALLY good for learning songs. A huge library that can be very challenging especially if you have 2 Roli Piano M. It has to where you can change the music to actual staff music to play thru instead of cascading. It does a lot of basic theory depending on what you want to learn.
Thank you. I'm thinking of getting the new Roli Piano. I assume it's similar software to the Lumi. Are you able to have the keyboard display scales including custom scales?
This is a great midi keyboard. If your child is trying to learn piano I would recommend just a regular 61 key keyboard you can get for a $100 and a book to learn from.
It has aftertouch so it'll react to how you lift off the key. It is touch sensitive too so it acts like a real piano so if you push soft it'll be soft and vice versa.
Yes Ive been using it with my students since I got it. Paired with the Lumi App it's a pretty amazing experience. They do a great job of showing you theory and fingerings and an insane amount of songs to read.
Of course, you can try it if you want! However, for learning piano, a digital piano would be a better choice than a MIDI keyboard because MIDI keyboards lack the weighted keys and touch sensitivity that simulate the feel of a real piano.
I’m also on my journey of learning piano, and for my exercises, I got a Roland FP-10. I’m very happy with it! Besides that, I also got a MIDI keyboard for music production and hobby purposes, but for learning piano, the Roland is definitely a much better choice because of weighted keys.
@mertcanayhan yeah I grew up playing uprights but that Roland is incredible, especially for the price. I have a handful of keyboards (thinking of adding this for mpe) and nothing comes close to the fp10 for piano, the feel and fact it's ready to go with one button makes it a different experience
Is there a subscription for the learning software? I’m assuming you’ve been paying for a subscription since you originally purchased it. Have you seen improvements in your students?
There is a subscription service. I was fortunate and the first 2 years were free since I was an early adopter then I have paid the last 2 years. Their service is $99 for the year which IMO is worth it especially how much I use it. I have seen improvements especially theory wise. So many people learn visually and it's great visually with the colors.
How well does it work to have two of them connected via the magnet when it's sitting on your lap? I'm just imagining them not staying together well if I were to try and use them on my lap like on the couch or bed or something.
Yea if they are in your lap they would def move around. Way better to have something underneath them also remember they can be separated and still play different octaves at the same time which I showed in the video. Anytime I use both of them I always have something underneath.
@FullSendLifestyle not a 100% I understand your ? but you can hook it up thru bluetooth or usb c on your computer and it'll connect to whatever program you use (DAW or Roli Studio or some misc software that uses a midi controller)
This is a great review! I'm off to see if you posted a tutorial of the app🏃♀🍃

How are the dynamics? Can you change the volume of a single note over time with pressure or is that just the seaboard

Can the piano be played without connecting to the pc?
Yes you can connect via Bluetooth to the iPad or Garage band.
Would you recommend this to someone wanting to learn piano?

How do you use it for teaching? It does look cute, but I have some doubts of its practical usefulness.
@higgs1913 the app itself has a ton of options from scales, theory, 1000s of songs to sight read and practice to a metronome. I love it.
Hey buddy, I think your website is down, I tried a week ago, same 500 error
bjpricemusic.net works on my end

Did you get Roli Studio with the Lumi Keys or did you buy it separately?
It came with it
Does the student deal need to be a college or university or can a middle schooler also get the discount
I know you have to be at least 16 years old.
Hi there! I see you have this hooked up to a computer, sounds silly, but can I connect it easily to any computer?
Yes it has a USB C connector
how do you use sounds from producer supply on it ???
@FullSendLifestyle not a 100% I understand your ? but you can hook it up thru bluetooth or usb c on your computer and it'll connect to whatever program you use (DAW or Roli Studio or some misc software that uses a midi controller)
@ ok an you have to pay for those separately
You get Roli Studio for free which comes with numerous sounds. Also some DAWs also have free sounds included with them.
@ ok thank you
You are welcome
are there any coupon codes? i want to get it for cheaper 200$ is way to much/
If you are student and have an ID they have a deal now to get it for $100 but you have to be in school and have a way to prove it. Killer deal.
@@BJPriceMusic can it just be a middle school or does it have to be like a college or university
can I use it with my laptop or do I need an ipad?
You can use it with a DAW or Roli Studio on your laptop either USB C or Bluetooth.
