This is a wonderful idea. I hope you lads are able to pull it off. I wish there was some way to get more info on the uncredited extras that were such an indispensable part of the episodes. There must be an absolute trove of anecdotes waiting to be mined there. I think you've hit on a very worthy candidate for the featured screening in "The Blue Carbuncle". That has so many superb characters, including possibly my favorite of them all, Mr. Henry Baker, as played by Frank Middlemass. How fantastic would it be to have Ros Simmons (who went on to be an accent coach, IIRC) or Amelda Brown or Brian Miller there, in-person? An interesting possibility would be having 2 special mystery guests, if you could determine who the child actors were that played John & Jennie Horner's son & daughter, and somehow invite them. I would absolutely _love_ to be able to attend, but would need to find suitable travel accommodations. I will try to book passage aboard the _Norah Creina_ , which I understand is quite a reliable vessel.
Re: the extras... surely there had to have been "regulars" who appeared in multiple episodes. I've always wished I could piece together who some of these were.
That would be a very big, but worthy project. My guess is the closest thing to an accurate answer would lie in a box of accounting receipts at Granada Studios. Likely the receipt of any checks cut would be the only record of the background actors. Brettcon should be a lot of fun and we've got a lot planned. We'll keep sharing more as everything comes together. Hopefully we see you there!
I would also not be able to come out from Washington state. Would there be a possibility of adding a virtual element? Broadcasting panels and presentations, having chat rooms for the long-distance folks to bond? Obviously not the same as attending, but it could loop in a larger swath of the community and maybe lead to making the BAFTA folks realize their criminal negligence.
