Found this quite by accident, looking for versions of this song & sent it to my son, Ben, who is a reenactor & fiddle&banjo player as well. I think you guys may know each other. I really love this, but where's the rest of the song....? I need the whole thing! Other than that, PERFECT!
Hi Jake, what are you tuned to here? The closest I could get on my banjo when I was listening to the recording was double c capoed at the first fret and the fifth string tuned up to G#, but you're obviously doing something different here, yes?
Almost. It's gDGCD (C Modal) capoed at the 6th fret. You can still play it in gCGCD, however it requires a quite tricky hammer on, which is made trickier by the high speed at which it's played.
what happend to the other songs he had on here there was one about some one or something called charlie and afew more i cant seem to find them anywhere
Only in the past hour I heard you for my first time Love what you’re doing brings me back to my roots may the creator bless you
Altogether pleasing! What a beautiful voice!
Reminds me of the version Planxty did of it in the 70s....
