You want to leave 1 air defense so that you can deploy the lavaloons on the opposite side of the base, they will travel over the entire base, when they are in the core you snipe the last air defense with lightning spells or heroes, that way the lavaloons wills destroy the core. I got a 1 minutes 1 second attack that way in LL on maxed th16.
I tried that in some friendly challenges and had my lavaloons end up in town hall poison almost every time the th was centered so I didn't like it as much.

the witchgolem is also extremely broken, I had trouble 3 staring with lavaloon because people made bases to counter it, but then I switched to witch golem smash attacks and climbed like 1k+ trophies easily last year.
Current lavaloon is way more broken than last year's one bcoz of 2 main reasons: 1)hero equipments..we didnt have equips last halloween and 2)ice minions make lavaloon more broken
3 zaps is probably best. depending on the setup you can kill one ad and make an L shape. Use their ad pathing as a strength. I think they're weakest when they are just dumbly wandering to any defense. if the L is not optimal you can almost always snipe a 2nd ad with heros or siege to just have two ad's where the town hall is in-between them. 95% of bases will work with either configuration. less zaps mean more rages and more rages kills more buildings than 9 zaps ever can.
i think ur doing wrong lavaloon zap. clean the 1 air defense with giant arrow, then zap another 2 air defenses, always keep 1 air defenses live & keep 3 lightnings & zap it after all lavaloons comes to middle of the base with eternal tome. use rage in middle. freezes are mainly for sweepers or town hall. if u get 2 air defenses from early giant arrow use extra 3 lightnings for sweepers.
If you have lavaloon puppet leveled up I’d love to see different use cases for it in armies that don’t use event troops so that we can get an idea of how it will perform!

I don't use the word broken a whole lot. But the Lavaloon is arguably the most powerful unit to ever be in the game, so if THAT doesn't warrant the word broken you have impossible standards

P.S. this is the nerfed version of Nerfed 2023 Lavaloon troops so 3rd gen lavaloon which is still more broken than initial root riders just wait for the hitrate data post this event
You needed 1,000 medals to unlock ice minions. This would have come from the 100 to start, 2 x 345 from attacking + there was a code for 150: with the training boost also done in no time I guess

just switch to witchgolem smash attacks and you will easily 3 star again. I had problems with lavaloon last year and witchgolem was what made me easily 3 star every base at that time.
But then you should put the third zap on something else where you can get more value (i mean probably for this attack it doesn't matter, but still bothers me haha)

TH14 for example needs a lvl 15 Giant Arrow. I didn't look at the rest.
