That's a koller 2.5 carriage, it has a hydraulic pump that charges accumulators when it travels the line, it flips a hydraulic switch when it changes direction Wich activates skyline clamp and line drop, I ran one for a couple years, slick little carriage
The USA and Canada have some different terms about some equipment and some of the logging practices, but we all know what a Gypo is! and looking at this ,that’s a capital G gypo if I ever saw one,😂 John Deere tractor in the landing. Oh my God. Not making any judgment my dad was a gypo, we never had any fancy equipment like that 😊
northman logging I got a line up for one for free. it has sat for 15 to 20 years. engine is froze and who knows what else. but thinking of bringing it home.
Ya so I actually have not had it long. I had an excavator i was looking to sell and was offered this as a trade and I just thought it was the coolest thing. Im no logger but just really liked it. So took the leap and passed on the several full cash offers on my machine and traded for this. I do have a job or two I'd love to use it on. One being my moms property where there are a bunch if alder that are just down in this little ravine and so it I assume would work good for it but I'm not no yarder operator so u never know I might not get to it. I have it posted online for sale on Facebooks many logging groups and such but yeah I think its great. Im curious where was this video shot at
I will do a video about how that carriage works too much to type but pretty much like a Cristy
west coast logging alex esgate that would be amazing!!! and way cool that you tended hook under one!!!! you should do a story time about it!!!!!

This yarder is bad to the bone! OG all day
Nice little yarders
I see it was mfg right in Portland, OR. Interesting little machine, but seeing 3/4 chokers on that mainline seemed to be a bit of overkill.

The brake handle on the front is the tire brakes for yarder
Oh God it's even has a koller carraige on it those things are worse then Cristy carraige
thats cool i didnt know yarders like that existed, small but a guy could still make money and just have a 2 man crew or something
storminnormanz yep that's exactly right.
I tended hook under a 501 koller just a little bigger than this one and was pretty impressed with what it could do
thats cool alex i guess the yarder operator just stands at those levers to run it
Recon they'll fly that cat to the other side?...my size operation..lol

I have seen it for sale. :) I have a log loader for that alder ;)
Ya that's what that gap is for pick it up as tight as you can then slack it off a little slip the skyline over and get a couple more feet of lift
This is crazy I own this log yarder. The koller 300 I traded my excavator for it. I stumbled into this video. It looks way different now
That’s cool!!!! I love your little Yarder!!!! I noticed it’s all painted now!!!
I would be interested in making another video on your Yarder. Do you still use it?
If you want to sell it, I'd be interested in buying it...
I can tell you how that carriage works
