Phenomenal video, Rory. Thank you. Is there an 'updated video' with comments on new features since 2019-20? Also, a newer video would be helped by having an associate or two that can 'attend' your meeting(s). Thanks, once again.
Thanks for you engagement. I'll have a look and see if I can get something recorded. I hear you on the associate idea, noted.
Great video, thank you Rory!! Awesome clarity and the step by step revealing of the functions makes it so helpful for beginners!!
Are these features possible to do on mobile too
Is there a way to test the app before inviting people on mobile I mean
Yes, they mobile works with an app that you download from the App Store.
How do you set this up on the windows desktop client? The desktop version looks a bit "older"... is it possible?
Hi there,
The desktop client is a very old iteration off the development and I no longer use it. It's pretty much like a sip phone. If you want a great sip phone, linphone by belledone is a great open source alternative.
Jitsi is designed using WebRTC and that runs in A browser, the mobile had a great App on Android and iOS.
Can we have a presenter view using jitsi?
I cannot get Jitsi app on my MacBook Air. I need Jitsi for conference.

Hello, many thanks for this good explanations and instruction. Couple of question about passwords: if the first person creating a Meeting Name (eg. Nelly) sets a password - is it once and for all or can it be changed? The second question is: what if someone (a third person) wants to play a trick and sets a password without disclosing it to others. Is this Meeting Name shut for good? Thank you
Hi there, I see you didn't receive a reply.
Regarding the password?
You can always change your password, or you can stop using a password.
Nobody can do tricks if it is you who set up or arranged the meeting!
No one can take over your meeting page without your co-acceptance.
Hope it helps.
Sandor
@@Budkaster-vejle Many thanks for your kind reply. I have used Jitsi several times and it seems ok. Few problems I encountered: several times members were kicked out just like that and had to reconnect, several times problems with video and/or mic. Can it be compatibility problem with browser? Thanks again. Christophe
What android emulator are you using?
how to fix you ,jitsi have reached your monthly active users, to get unlimited access. those problem when i was create 8x8
How many users can connect at a time
Information required as soon as possible
Sorry for late response.
There are no artificial limitations on numbers, it only depends on your resources. However they recommend numbers up to 75. I've only had need and comfortable used it for 48 users, but most of my work is with around 20 or less.
Also there's no time limits
@@RoryTownsendTV Thanks
JitSi Meets doesn't work, it's a con. After clicking GO to go to the meeting you are trying to set up a pop-up appears. This asks that you allow access to your camera and mic when asked, but you are never asked and the application hangs there indefinably
Avoid this application.
Yes all video conferencing softwares have to ask permission to use your services, Jitsi odd no exception. It however does not require you to install any third party software, runs fully in Chrome browser as WebRTC.
Other options could be, Whereby, 8x8 , . . But it's important to use what you feel comfortable about.
I use it for all my security conscious clients, in addition I host my own Jitsi server, which is free for anyone who can set it up on their own servers. Hope you find a solution.
Dude, you just saw him use it. Everyone else in the comments was able to use it. I can use it.
Make sure you're using chrome (or derivatives) or firefox, not edge or explorer, as he did say that those don't support it.
Maybe you need other critical updates (wouldn't recommend using anything older than windows 7)
or maybe your computer is just plain trash. Idk.
