Thank you for all that you do for the community! I've been playing wiht your rosters for many years. Do you have any suggestions on how to limit trading to make things more realistic for multi season historic play? Currently I put trade difficulty to 100 and don't trade in the offseason(since any rando bench player fetches you 1-2 first rounders) and let the CPU auto draft, also I played around with increasing draft value assets but it doesnt seem to make a meaningful difference.
Hey, buddy. It seems like you're struggling to find something to work on now that your mod is close to perfection :) As someone who has spent time with this mod for years, who has been playing nba games with custom rosters for more than 20 years, I have a little advice for you, you can take a look if you want. I think you can work on the badges of the players but not their attributes. When I took a look at your badge choices for unknown players, I liked your choices a lot, you made arguably the best mod in terms of attributes and badges. Usually the facial designs of the players, even their shoes, are given importance, but the most important thing, 'realism', is overlooked because attributes and badges are ignored. But since you didn't change the badges of some of the players in the original 2k20 because you trusted the game I think there is a lack of realism in those players. I'm sure that if you looked at those players carefully, you would definitely change the existing badges pack. These are not big deficiencies but I think this mod would be flawless if edited, just my opinion. Actually I edit badges before I play a match, but after the updates those edits are lost. Since I'm playing with 90s teams these days, the examples I'll remember will be from the 90s. For example, '95 Hakeem Olajuwon doesn't have a fade badge. However, that season in the playoffs he had the greatest offensive performance of his career. His spinning fade away against Shaq in the final alone deserves this badge at the 'hall of fame' level. (Hakeem was a player with clutch shooter feature during his peak time, this badge is also missing in my opinion.) C. Drexler was a very good interceptor. (In the 86-89 seasons, this feature could even be at the hall of fame level, for Rockets Drexler I think he deserves gold or silver) Unfortunately, for a player who stole so many balls in his career, 2k did not give a badge for stealing. '91-92-93 Jordan does not have a space creator, clutch shooter and some other important badges. Some badges like this have been added in the new 2k games. Even though I don't play that games, I review it on the 2kratings site while editing. Pippen can also be edited regarding badges. Even though he is a member of the '92 Dream Team, he gives the impression of an ordinary player when you look at his badges, unfortunately his (especially offensive) attributes do not compensate for this. I think '96-97-98 Kukoc is one of the exceptional ones that can change in terms of attributes along with the lack of badges. 2k made corrections for these players in their new games, and they probably saw how big the shortcomings were in the features of 2k20 players. These are just a few examples. I think that along with such star players, role players such as D. Mckey, Eddie Johnson can also be examined. They deserve some badges too. (for Mckey defensive, for e. johnson offensive badges) Badges are of critical importance for the realism of the game, if a study is done on this issue, I think this mod will become flawless. Unfortunately, 2k, who acts out of greed for money, does not pay enough attention to this issue as he spends time on unimportant details.(However, I must admit that 2k has made corrections to some attributes and badges in its new games.) I want to reiterate that I really like the work you did on players like Barkley, which 2k never created. What I want to remind you is mostly the shortcomings left over from 2k20. I just wanted to give you advice, I hope you don't misunderstand. Thanks again for all your hard work.
Don’t worry, I’ll always respect constructive feedback and won’t get offended when inaccuracies are called out. You’re right, there are still a lot inaccuracies that are carried over from 2k20’s default rosters that I mistakenly trusted. There were some horrible tendencies for players like Kirilenko and Jermaine O’Neal that I didn’t realize until after I made 10+ rosters featuring them. A lot of big men have had gold passing badges for some reason. Outside of working on the 1984 roster, most of what I’m doing now is making accuracy improvements to existing rosters. This is a good thing to focus on because badges make a huge impression on the gameplay experience. I’ll look into the specific ones you called out in this comment, but definitely share more as you see it. My best knowledge of stars, but also role players is in the 2000s, probably peaking in the mid 2010s. I know a lot of key role players from the 90s, but the deeper down on the bench you go, I’m relying more on Basketball Reference and snippets of gameplay. Definitely appreciate the feedback and never hesitate to keep sending more feedback.
Also, I know it would be a lot of work for you, but if you want to "audit" the rosters for badge improvements. I could even make a spreadsheet you can edit with a column for a player name and another column with the recommended badge updates. I could then go and make the changes in-game so we know I'm not missing anything.
@@Thunder_Shaq Thank you for understanding, my friend. So we're on the same page on this. As an old modder myself, I'd be happy to give you some suggestions on badges. It's up to you whether you follow my suggestions or not, it's enough for me to convey them to you. Of course it would be better if you create a table like you mentioned, I would like to help in this way, thank you for your offer. In the summer months I am more relaxed in terms of work and I can spare time for nba 2k, I will have the opportunity to review many players in the coming months. (especially 90's and 00's) Before playing the match, I was always reviewing the players of that team and editing if necessary. At least these reviews will have a chance to become permanent. If you share the table with me, I can give you suggestions starting with the players I've written down (I can't say anything about role players I don't know well, but I can make specific suggestions for the ones I know like Randy Brown. It would be difficult for me to write all the seasons one by one, so if you like my suggestion, I believe you can adapt the other seasons of the player). Also, if I can contribute to this mod, even in a very small way, I would be very grateful.
@@nba2kclassicmatchups906 if you private message me on something like NLSC, I can send you a link to a spreadsheet I’ll create that you can edit. I’ll make adjustments for the various seasons (such as dropping from HOF to Gold to Silver as the player ages) so we don’t need to break it down by specific year unless you have any specific examples where a player should only have a badge for a few seasons.
