    I had a 460w version….it blew up as I was pushing the limit with it for 6 years.
    I now have this one 600w titanium. It’s exactly what it says it is. Silent and efficient.

    Excellent PSU, I've been running it for years without a problem. It's an amazing piece of engineering. A huge plus is no chemical odors that some other PSU's have. Their quality is unmatched.
    (I did attach a silent Noctua fan just in case)

    I have had this psu running 24/7 in a home server, for 3-years now, no issues at all, it's just epic. I wish they would make some titanium sfx power supply. Since I want to make my server build itx-sized but I'm not willing to give up on this lovely Seasonic psu, it's just pure orgasms for a hobby electronic guy's eyes to look into that beast of a silent psu.

    Received this AMAZING product yesterday installed it after draining my loop did full maintenance ;) as I had to remove the top radiator to plug in the 8 pin cpu. Totally blown away by this seasonic and will do my best to post reviews where I can! Stunning.

    Thanks so much for reviewing this PSU leo! I've been waiting for this to launch for nearly a year after building my first water cooled pc an Intel 4790 haswell @4.5ghz and a gtx 980ti and a couple of SSDs plus 6 fans this will be a great addition to my phanteks enthoo evolve chassis as silence was key and the only thing I hear is the old 1000w super flower from an older sli pc! Cheers

      Edgar Griñant nah it's the msi 6g gaming all my kit is from Ekwb and I've already checked the power draw from the current system and it's not even close to 500w worse case scenario even if I had a 1080ti would be to lower the overclock of cpu to 4.2-4.3ghz

    Hi
    Thanks for video.
    Based on my experience with two failing X-400 after just 7 years, I think that you should mention that this PSU will only work well if it is located at the bottom of the cabinet. This because PSU can not get sufficient cooling when mounted at the top of the cabinet unless you drill holes in top.

    Always preferred the Super Flower PSU's personally, they are underrated and yet they make the majority of power supplies for EVGA.
    The V Droop on them is excellent, they come with an auto/eco switch (which essentially enables/disables the fan) and have a patented modular cabling system.

    Please let use know how the threadripper/1080 ti testing goes. I have to say that I'm very intrested about this one. My next PSU will be a Seasonic: it's this or some of the 650w models.

  • @mushious
    @mushious 7 лет назад +1

    Honestly interested in that threadripper test you're going to be doing with this PSU. Wouldn't mind getting one myself if it can handle the load, my current PSU is the loudest component in my case (and it's 1000W overkill but that's another story).

    nice PSU but want if you put that PSU in a case that has a PSU shroud with no vents or you can't remove the shroud

    • @Leli196
      @Leli196 7 лет назад

      I wonder, too. E. g. the new Fractal Design Define R6 has a PSU shroud that you (unfortunately) cannot remove.

  • @theonetruelenny9883
    @theonetruelenny9883 7 лет назад

    Would it be a bad idea to put this power supply in a case with a power supply shroud or power supply basement? Whatever you want to call it.

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  7 лет назад

      There will be some heat produced and that heat needs to be able to escape. Heat rises. You can figure out the rest yourself.

    If your power supply is covered by an encasing in your case, does that mean it will overheat?

  • @vibrationrising
    @vibrationrising 3 года назад

    I have an older case and have to put PSU at the top
    But I have a fan on side panel blowing directly in to psu location. Have 5 case fans, There is no ventilation at the top, so in my case, would you install this PSU the right way up or upsidedown??

  •  7 лет назад +1

    But it wouldn't work in a power supply shroud, right?

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  7 лет назад +3

      Many cases have a PSU cover that is either perforated or slotted. The Sea Sonic 600FL is about 93 percent efficient at full load which is 40W of waste heat. Clearly the heat needs to be able to escape but in my opinion most cases should work just fine.

    heat rises and usually not that far above is your GPU so how does it effect the heat inside the case ? I would assume not much

    • @bigboat8329
      @bigboat8329 4 года назад

      I assume with the efficiency of this psu and the insane design the heat emitted from it is very negligible.

    Is that dangerous to have an open power supply? There is a story of a kid who opened up a power supply which wasn't even plugged in and it killed him. If you were to touch a capacitor or something with a wire or screw driver through the grill couldn't that kill you? I like the idea of silent PSU though. That is what makes the noise most of the time in my experience. I'm not sure about during video games though. But during normal desktop usage it is the PSU.

    • @misterxzxc7314
      @misterxzxc7314 5 лет назад

      True and that's because 99% chance the capacitor will discharge it's power off but first the PSU must have been plugged in the wall once a time

    Completely useless review. Show this PSU in an actual casing, so you will find out that it is absolutely NOT possible to install it in many cases: it needs space AND exhaust openings above it in the casing, considering THIS IS A PASSIVELY COOLED POWER SUPPLY! So best is to just get a casing where you can install it at the bottom.
    There is a big microphone on screen that provides horrible sound: the volume has to be turned up but i still cant hear your S or Z or T. Plus i can hear the sounds of your own exhale and stuff bumping on the table. If you talk about perforations at the bottom at 1'30" then SHOW THE BOTTOM.
    Thumbs down and no subscription for this useless video.

    There is no point in buying this, all the prime series PSUs fans dont turn on before 50% load is reached.

    • @theonlyredspecial
      @theonlyredspecial 7 лет назад +7

      You sir, win the idiot award of the day. Congrats.

    • @Deffine
      @Deffine 7 лет назад +1

      Oh, thank you kind sir. Look, if you have a 1200W platinum prime PSU it will not turn on the fan before 50% is reached, which is 600W, same as this fanless PSU. But most people dont ever reach 600W, so even lower watt PSU will be perfectly fine for a completely quiet system. And no regular consumer buys PSUs because they are afraid they will fail, they buy PSUs like this because of noise concerns.

    • @theonlyredspecial
      @theonlyredspecial 7 лет назад +7

      Allostasis yes of course we all have 1200 watt power supplies and run constantly at lower power with the fan off. That's exactly how it all works and how we all want to be running to get peak 80 plus efficiency. As I said you won the internet yesterday. Today maybe not so much.

    • @Deffine
      @Deffine 7 лет назад +1

      Lmao, can you please enlighten us what is so special with a fanless PSU for the regular consumer?
