Glad you enjoyed your visit.👍 Just a heads-up if coming to Birmingham again by car; the city's 'Clean Air Zone' is now operating 24/7, covering all roads within the A4540 (Middle Ring Road). If your car's engine emissions are less than Euro 6 spec for diesel or Euro 4 for petrol you will be charged £8 to enter the city centre. You may want to consider parking outside the zone and walking, or taking a train, bus or tram from the suburbs instead. Lots of UK city centres were bombed to smithereens during WW2 and are now very modern. Coventry was a medieval city before flattened in 1940. It’s nice to sit by the canals in Birmingham, have a drink in a water side pub and watch a few boats go by in the Summer. In hot weather, non-covid, pubs and restaurants are packed out in Birmingham. Birmingham museum and art gallery currently holds the Staffordshire Hoard, a huge collection of Anglo-Saxon (6th and 7th century) gold, silver and jewellery dug up in a field near Lichfield.
