What the hell is wrong with the media? A CRISIS over a mother photoshopping a family picture shown for Mother's Day???? We have hit the insane zone. My great nephew stuck his tongue out three times whilst the photographer tried to take a family picture, and each of the other three kids did something such as closed their eyes, looked down, etc . . . The photographer had to pull from all four pictures to get one good one! This is done in real like folks!
Our younger son was acting silly in our wedding photos. This was before the days of computer photoshopping, so his antics are on display for everyone to see.
I love Catherine's picture. I will be pissed if this non- issue, issue makes her stop posting them. Are you kidding with the trust issue? She tweaked a photo, not spill Royal secrets like he who shall not be named.
So, a mother edits a family pic to make it nice for a Mother's Day post. C'est normal. Yet the jackals in the media, pushing her to get more pics and info on her surgery (they'd LOVE a pic of her bedraggled from convalescence), have acted like this is a national emergency, and calls into question Catherine's "honesty". If she did appear publicly looking anything less than the media's definition of "perfect" then new crazy conspiracies would pop up. Wouldn't surprise me if when she does appear publicly people will allege it's a robot. Or an extraterrestrial. What is so hard to grasp about the timeframe involved in recovery from abdominal surgery. Maybe the media can send a few journalists to look into abdominal surgery, bring people on who've undergone and recovered from that type of surgery. Or perhaps a surgeon who performs even routine abdominal surgery . Because many seem completely ignorant of the invasiveness and long recovery time.
The background for this interview is so fake. As an Irish woman, I don’t understand the UK’s obsession with every minute detail of the Royal’s lives. I wish Catherine all the best with her recovery.

What have you been reading or hearing? I read the Daily Mail. The attack is not on Catherine, but on her PR people and, even, William for throwing her under the bus. They have said that she didn’t write that note and even didn’t edit that photo. I think you need to hear the entire episode and read the articles.

Louis put his finger behind the chair arm. Therefore, it looked "missing" in their Christmas photo. That's what kids do. Surely, parents notice their own young children's "weird" poses throughout the day. Louis crossing his fingers in an unusual way makes this photo more authentic rather than less.

As a Canadian, the British media should have Princess Catherine's back rather than attacking her for every little thing she does or doesnt do. This woman asked for ONE thing ...to have some privacy while she recovers. It was simple! But no, everyone wanted more when she was entitled to respect. The rumours and conspiracy theories that came after were terrible. Everything from domestic abuse, to being in a coma, and that she died, is disgraceful and contunues to be published in papers and online. A woman that is likely a bit insecure after being ill just wanted a photo of her and her children to look it's best. Shame on her homeland for not protecting her more.
With the exception of one paper and a couple of RUclips channels most of the harassment has come from overseas and NOT from the UK - and the Mail have been the ones largely SUPPORTING Catherine and her desire for privacy. Same with the nasty comments on the photo, long before the agencies apparently pulled it there were a lot of RUclips channels making NEGATIVE comments on the photo (some allegeing it was taken last year, others that it couldn't be real because the sun was shining and it wasn't dull, raining, and the trees weren't bare of leaves and the grass totally dead - some have a very funny idea of the British weather - while the comments sections were full of accusations. It was several hours later that the announcement came that the photo had just been pulled by the agencies so the comments were out there long long before anyone else got involved, and VAST MAJORITY of the vile channels and even more vile comments were coming from the area located to the south of your southern land border, specifically the area between yourselves and Mexico.

I’m not a fervent monarchist by any stretch of the imagination, but how the MSM have handled this story is disgraceful. I think they have also very misjudged the public feeling around the matter. I’m incensed that the media think they have a right to know the private medical condition of the Princess of Wales why? It appears if they did know, we would have a million more news articles, RUclips opinions, news broadcast picking over the bones of the Princess of Wales operation and even the long term affects. This story keeps a lot of reporters in paid work with very little effort accept opinion and talk.

For the first time ever, I am truly disappointed in Palace Confidential. To dedicate an entire episode on this utterly ridiculous story is farcical. Catherine had major surgery, the Palace advised that she would be recovering until after Easter, the family then graciously release a beautiful photo and all the media is interested in is tearing them apart! 😡 Leave them be for the love of God.

How weak and inadequate is a person who can not trust a royal family because of a touched up photo? Even in 1975, when I graduated, photographers were busily touching up negatives of all our high school graduation photos, and they still are doing that in 2024.

Totally agree, with Ian Lloyd, the complaints were over the top and have probably caused the Princess of Wales, and the Prince, a great deal of hassle. She is supposed to be recooperating from surgery and could well do without all these problems.

If I were her I would never release another of my photos to the press again. She is allowing the public into their personal lives and now is persecuted because of it. Professional photographer here (for 15+ years). Let me tell you that it is nearly impossible to get one photo with children where EVERYONE is looking at the camera and not making a face - no matter how many images you take. Looking at this photo I can see that it's a composite - meaning they took multiple images of the same scene and swapped Charlotte and Louis from one photo into this another (most likely because of blinking or weird smiles, which most real laughing photos have). Nothing more sinister than that. It's still the real deal.

Saying British people will find Prince William and Princess Catherine untrustworthy because of a few photo tweeks is ridiculous! I trust them both very much and like their family photos. I don't want the children, or Catherine while she's in recovery from surgery under stress, or pressure to have professional photos. I really enjoy the home photos, over the forced photo's. Technology is great that it can take several photos quickly and then you make one good photo out of several shots. I'm definitely going to check I have this on my next phone, so me and my Grandchildren can all be smiling at the same time 😂 The press need to relaxand leave her alone xXx
It's so unfair that the media were the ones leading the charge with all the innuendos and conjectures about Catherine's health, even AFTER in the statement that was put out notifying about her surgery and how long she would be out recovering. Catherine is the one who is the photographer and would be the one who knows how to work photo editing software ... something that takes a long time to get proficient in. Anyone can snap a picture with a camera, not everyone can work photo editing software (even at a novice level). And kudos to Catherine for the "Mea Culpa." Everyone is making a big deal out of nothing ... COUNTLESS celebrities photos have been altered to look more flattering!
In this age of Photoshop, I simply cannot BELIEVE that Palace Confidential have succumbed to this utter nonsense! How many extremely photoshopped & wildly edited photographs have been shared by the press up until now, for goodness' sake?! Sorry, long long before the agencies got involved there were channels and people claiming it was either a total fake (as in AI) or had been photoshopped. It was hours after that that the agencies got involved but there are literally hundreds of claims on RUclips that it was fake (strange but they all picked up on the alleged manipulations as well).
Give poor Catherine a break! Do we really expect her to wear her ring or any jewelry during convalescence? Some people just don’t wear jewelry including wedding rings and especially heavy, clunky engagement rings when home resting. In particular, jewelry gets caught in children’s hair and clothing. As a baby, my daughter twice managed to pull on my favourite pearl necklace at the moment when I was with both hands engaged in changing her nappy, and grinningly sent the pearls springing everywhere (despite each one was knotted single!). The repair was not cheap, and after the second event I stopped wearing it. What I could not stop wearing - my spectacles! She also damaged them twice so thoroughly that they had to be replaced - also not cheap. It speaks for itself that my now ex husband only had tsktsktsks and headshaking for my trouble. I stopped wearing silk blouses (after dinner burps...), shoes with a bit of a heel (otherwise I was always too slow for my little havoc wreaker) and jewelry during the formative years of the fruit of my loins, and now I seem to not get back to my former self. If Catherine wears her large rings with the sharp edged stones and accidentally a child gets snagged by the jewelry, all h3ll will break loose, so I fully understand that she has MANY reasons to leave the heavy signature pieces off at home (and nobody wants to call the plumber because a precious piece went along the way of so many mobile phones...). All this hue and cry can be traced back to the usual suspects, who hopefully will get their comeuppance rather sooner than later. Shame on the media representatives who disproportionally inflate a minor, or even non-issue. If this sends all of them spinning already, what will they do in a REAL crisis? As an American I have no skin in the game. But I have, in the past, been a fan of the Daily Mail. I’m disappointed in the British media including the Daily Mail and the rest of the media.It’s a family picture. The other option would have been to spend thousands on a professional photographer. Should we now have the press with them when pictures are taken so they can confirm it’s real. Another comment brought out the subject that Daily Mail Royal is filmed on a fake set. Why is it wrong for a mother to clean-up a picture while the media fakes things everyday.
How is this a scandal? None of the important parts of the image, the faces were changed in any way! Much of this attention comes of course from camp Henry supporters online, who tried to point out issues with the last Wales family picture, now any time a picture comes out the same thing will happen, as long as the media makes it a focus of attention, it's a family picture, it's not evidence in a trial or any attempt to cover anything up. I heard blame being cast on Harry by Mr Eden because of his comments regarding how “the firm” is run in his documentary interviews and book William is behaving in a certain manner. With the exception of one paper and a couple of RUclips channels most of the harassment has come from overseas and NOT from the UK - and the Mail have been the ones largely SUPPORTING Catherine and her desire for privacy. Same with the nasty comments on the photo, long before the agencies apparently pulled it there were a lot of RUclips channels making NEGATIVE comments on the photo (some allegeing it was taken last year, others that it couldn't be real because the sun was shining and it wasn't dull, raining, and the trees weren't bare of leaves and the grass totally dead - some have a very funny idea of the British weather - while the comments sections were full of accusations. It was several hours later that the announcement came that the photo had just been pulled by the agencies so the comments were out there long long before anyone else got involved, and VAST MAJORITY of the vile channels and even more vile comments were coming from the area located to the south of your southern land border, specifically the area between yourselves and Mexico.

I’m not a fervent monarchist by any stretch of the imagination, but how the MSM have handled this story is disgraceful. I think they have also very misjudged the public feeling around the matter.
I’m incensed that the media think they have a right to know the private medical condition of the Princess of Wales why? It appears if they did know, we would have a million more news articles, RUclips opinions, news broadcast picking over the bones of the Princess of Wales operation and even the long term affects.

Professional photographer here (for 15+ years). Let me tell you that it is nearly impossible to get one photo with children where EVERYONE is looking at the camera and not making a face - no matter how many images you take. Looking at this photo I can see that it's a composite - meaning they took multiple images of the same scene and swapped Charlotte and Louis from one photo into this another (most likely because of blinking or weird smiles, which most real laughing photos have). Nothing more sinister than that. It's still the real deal.

Richard Eden's assertion that Prince William threw Princess Catherine under the bus, and that William must have done the photo editing because he took the picture is very faulty. Catherine is the one who is the photographer and would be the one who knows how to work photo editing software ... something that takes a long time to get proficient in. Anyone can snap a picture with a camera, not everyone can work photo editing software (even at a novice level). And kudos to Catherine for the "Mea Culpa." Everyone is making a big deal out of nothing ... COUNTLESS celebrities photos have been altered to look more flattering!

Sorry, long long before the agencies got involved there were channels and people claiming it was either a total fake (as in AI) or had been photoshopped. It was hours after that that the agencies got involved but there are literally hundreds of claims on RUclips that it was fake (strange but they all picked up on the alleged manipulations as well).

Give poor Catherine a break! Do we really expect her to wear her ring or any jewelry during convalescence? Some people just don’t wear jewelry including wedding rings and especially heavy, clunky engagement rings when home resting. In particular, jewelry gets caught in children’s hair and clothing. My children used to pull on my jewelry causing rather painful detangling moments. This family can’t win for losing, let’s let them be please
I had to take my rings off before surgery! It's normal!
As a baby, my daughter twice managed to pull on my favourite pearl necklace at the moment when I was with both hands engaged in changing her nappy, and grinningly sent the pearls springing everywhere (despite each one was knotted single!). The repair was not cheap, and after the second event I stopped wearing it.
What I could not stop wearing - my spectacles! She also damaged them twice so thoroughly that they had to be replaced - also not cheap. It speaks for itself that my now ex husband only had tsktsktsks and headshaking for my trouble. I stopped wearing silk blouses (after dinner burps...), shoes with a bit of a heel (otherwise I was always too slow for my little havoc wreaker) and jewelry during the formative years of the fruit of my loins, and now I seem to not get back to my former self.
If Catherine wears her large rings with the sharp edged stones and accidentally a child gets snagged by the jewelry, all h3ll will break loose, so I fully understand that she has MANY reasons to leave the heavy signature pieces off at home (and nobody wants to call the plumber because a precious piece went along the way of so many mobile phones...).
All this hue and cry can be traced back to the usual suspects, who hopefully will get their comeuppance rather sooner than later.

As an American I have no skin in the game. But I have, in the past, been a fan of the Daily Mail. I’m disappointed in the British media including the Daily Mail and the rest of the media.It’s a family picture. The other option would have been to spend thousands on a professional photographer. Should we now have the press with them when pictures are taken so they can confirm it’s real. Another comment brought out the subject that Daily Mail Royal is filmed on a fake set. Why is it wrong for a mother to clean-up a picture while the media fakes things everyday.

How is this a scandal? None of the important parts of the image, the faces were changed in any way! Much of this attention comes of course from camp Henry supporters online, who tried to point out issues with the last Wales family picture, now any time a picture comes out the same thing will happen, as long as the media makes it a focus of attention, it's a family picture, it's not evidence in a trial or any attempt to cover anything up. I feel badly for the Prince and Princess, forced to show 'proof' that the Princess is okay, and then even denied this.
I’ve never seen or heard anything like this. It’s absurd. The Royal family are literally being torn to shreds at every turn and the media frenzy about this is like watching feeding sharks circling for a bite. What absolute nonsense. It all boils down to expectations. Why is the whole world allowed to edit and filter their photos but this family isn't? Why does it even matter? Slow news day? I enjoy your program very much. As an American, I must admit that I am puzzled about why this photo has become a HUGE issue! Although I understand that this is the Royal Family, and they are of interest worldwide and especially in the UK, I can't help but think that there are more pressing issues in the UK on a daily basis. If anything, I can see why this type of microscopic focus on a picture, would make the Wales want their privacy even more than normal. I feel sorry for them. In January, it was announced that the Princess had undergone major surgery and would not be in public until Easter or after. What part of that did the media not understand? Give the woman some privacy!

There is something wrong when a photo that was taken in November is pretending to be from March. Why can't she just make a video and speak to the public? There is no way that she looks like that now. That photo from November shows a picture of health. Unfortunately that obviously isn't the case now.

Yes, my husband often edits photos of our kids as well (especially if we're sending them to family etc.) - exactly this kind of editing, too, clearing up a sleeve or merging photos if one child is making a face in one but not another etc. It's bonkers to watch the insanity playing out over what is in actual fact a very regular thing to do.

I am so disgusted with the media on this. It was a misstep, how often has that happened? What loss of trust? The poor woman went through what was likely a horrific invasive surgical procedure she did not want to talk about, ... that causes lack of trust? and one slightly doctored photo by a woman who was convalescing? STOP THIS!
How does something so trivial became a "crisis" is beyond me. I still think the Queen's motto: never complain, never explain is the right way to handle this. Kensington palace needn't respond, the agencies who "kill" the photos published "doctored" photos on the daily, can totally be ignored.

Because the PRESS wanted to make billions by selling papers by first paparazzi photo of Katharine, not Kate and Will taking the photo by themselves. Press always edit their photos, but now they are soooo mad by not making MONEY LOL. British press is horrible.
