    I ran a 10k in these at a Puma event for the first time last Saturday. I got a PR. Saying that, I agree in hoping the foam to loosen up over the next few miles. My Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 definitely feel faster, but Puma grip is amazing.

  • @DevRunner

      I just ordered these but the WTR edition. Winter, apparently. For context, I live in finland and 70% of the year it’s winter. Due to global warming, the snow has been melting quite rapidly the last couple of years which means there’s a lot of slushy ice everywhere. Figured the WTR editions would serve well for these situations. Although, I’m a tad bit worried about their breathablity. Couldn’t find any reviews anywhere across the internet that spoke about that. So, fingers crossed.

    Mystery stack height, clever marketing by Puma, lol. Glad the fit was better in this shoe compared to the Forever Run. That cornering issue is strange. Excellent comparison between the Nitro 2 and the Speed 3 at the end. Question, what's the point of having such a flexible plate? I would think something a little stiffer would be more effective.

    • @UltraTrailSteven
      @UltraTrailSteven  Год назад +2

      The more flexible plate is to add a little bit more responsiveness. Similar to the nylon plate in the Endorphin Speed 3. It’s less expensive to produce than full carbon, but still gives a little extra pop (nowhere near as much as say the Hoka Rocket X2).

    Idk if this says anything about my form or the way I run, because this issue I have with some shoes doesn’t seem to get talked about a lot. I demoed these at their Boston shakeout and it had too much squish in the forefoot for me. I think what happens is as the balls of my foot sink into the foam it causes rubbing on my toes. It feels like with every step my toes have to push hard through the foam instead of just rolling off the foam. Eventually this causes parts of my foot to go numb. I had the same issue with ASICS glideride 3
