    Here's something to try when dividing a large vinyl pocket into two: place a piece of painters tape in general area of the stitch line on the vinyl, mark the stitch line on the tape, stitch on the line and then tear away the tape. This should also eliminate the vinyl from sticking to the pressure foot as you are stitching on the tape and not on the vinyl. 💖🌞🌵😷

    By far you have the best vinyl out there. I’ve used it for everything from bags and wallets to a clear window on a skid steer. Thank you for supplying this product.

    Here's a marking technique that you might try to find the center of a piece of vinyl: place an inch or two of painters tape near where you think is the center. Find the center, mark the center on the piece of tape, do what you need to do and remove the tape as it will just come up even if sewn through (be sure to use the tape on the side that won't get trapped inside a pocket). 💖🌞🌵😷

    30:17 when you stick this shield to your cabinet for storage, stick the tape down fully so that dust and pet hair won't find it's way to the sticky and ruin the tape. 💖🌞🌵😷

    Looking forward to try this new Vinyl. A Teflon foot makes it so much easier to sew on the vinyl.🙂

    O M Gosh! I just bought my 1st 2 patterns of yours from #widebacksaustralia .. never ever used vinyl before, but mother wants the bag I bought with the vinyl! Took a chance this very cold Sunday morning over my coffee to search RUclips on how to use it! And WOW! You have not only a lesson on how to use it, but a whole channel! 🤩
    I’ve also got on back order the bag to your left!
    Can’t wait! 🤩

    Black Sharpie is the hardest to remove even with alcohol. I like yellow. But another trick is to remove the Sharpie marks as soon as possible with the alcohol and you'll get better results. 💖🌞🌵😷

    If you try machine embroidery on vinyl, be sure to use an open - not too dense a pattern.

    Annie, you said that you wear "call me" all day at work. Is that strap wide enough to be comfortable all day or would a wider strap be more comfortable? I'm thinking about making one for a day of sightseeing and am worried about comfort. I have an evening bag with a chain strap and it kills me by the end of the evening. 💖🌞🌵😷

      I don’t think you’d be able to get enough in a call me to make it heavy. The fabric strap is very soft and comfortable. I can just fit my iPhone X and AirPods and there’d be room for a couple of cards but not much else.

      Lisa nailed it in her response. Call Me shouldn't get terribly heavy, but it all depends how much you're carrying.

    Thank you for this video. I have never used vinyl before. I will be ordering some and trying it on the free pattern. I would like to ask: the cup holder that you are using with your cup of water, is it one of your patterns. If so what pattern is it. Thank you, Diane

    Could you just leave the paper on the back of the vinyl and then tear it away after you’ve sewn it?

    • @PatternsByAnnie
      @PatternsByAnnie  3 года назад

      We'd suggest just scooting it off to the side a little bit. That way you're not catching it in the seam.
