- The guitar that started the legacy of Gibson Jumbo acoustics. When Gibson released the Jumbo in 1934, it was larger than any other guitar Gibson offered, and it made for a remarkable instrument. Only built for two production years, these rare instruments quickly became artist favorites and best represent the Gibson sound heard by world-renowned artists and collectors. Thoughtfully recreated with a Thermally Aged Adirondack red spruce top, hot hide glue top bracing, mahogany back and sides, traditional 25'' scale length, and a historic-style V neck profile, the Gibson Acoustic Custom Shop is proud to bring back a legend, the 1934 Jumbo.

I am researching Gibson acoustics and have been doing so for awhile. My purchase target date is summer 2022. This guitar along with a few other Gibsons as well as a Martin D-18 is on my list. I have owned both brands prior so I do know about them but these Gibson custom shop offerings are incredible! I absolutely love this 34’ amazing guitar. Thanks guys this was a huge help in my journey to finding and purchasing my perfect acoustic.🎶
Loving this huge, boomy baby of an acoustic, great review and great playing as always!! Wow ....
Loving hearing these new historic Gibsons, keep em' coming!!
Beautiful guitar! Huge sound! Very nice demo. Thanks Quinton and Paul 😊
That sounds amazing!!!
Yes! Love the Grier shirt! I have that one and my kids make fun of my guitar nerdiness every time I wear it
I enjoy your banter and Quinton’s playing very much. Keep up the great reviews. I always learn a little something when I sit in
What a sound. That thick neck is a tone machine.
Another great demo. One thing Quinton might add to all of these would be a simple strum of an E, G, C, and maybe a D chord, and let each resonate. Especially with these Historic or vintage guitars. Just a thought and good discussion on the neck shape.
Great sounding guitar!
Nice, love it. Great videos too! I have been to Bo's Strings many times. They closed a few years ago and I happened to be there just before. He seemed sad to close, but said it was time.
It seems to be deeper in the body than the J-45, like the Southern Jumbo Sheryl Crow model I’m happy to have.
Less body taper than the subsequent Gibsons... famous for that.
Trying to blow out my ear drums the way you are beating on that box. Also that’s the best looking guitar I’ve ever seen. I may have to get one despite the awful monster neck
I want this one!
Which one has a thicker neck j35 reissue or 1934 jumbo?
One of the guys from Martin needs to go over to Gibson and explain acoustic design
David Grier is a great guitar player!
This sounds like what I would imagine a 14 fret Smeck would be comparable to.
I’m gonna start making my own review videos.................................
Wonder if this would be good for blues fingerpicking?
C.A.N.N.O.N.
How does the Kopp 35 hold against this one?
i love the aesthetics of depression era guitars
That thing cook’s at 2:40

Just listening to strings. The real gibsons sound good with old strings.
“Ok boomer” I loled
The reproduction 1934 "The Jumbo" is an excellent instrument, however it doesn't compare to a real 1934 original "The Jumbo."
Quinton said regarding the original "I'm sure it didn't sound this nice." He obviously has never played an original and is just trying to help sell the new re-issue, which as I said is an excellent guitar, but not equal to the original.
So Playability “sigh” it plays uhhh nice... it’ sounds amazing! The neck is um HUGE but uh.... I HAte it...
Paul, I know you're busy - got a lot on your mind-but that Jumbo does Not have an "aged Adirondack top"...it's Red Spruce But that's okay.
Actually it does have an aged top per the specs at their website. Torrified or “baked” with heat.
@@rzh3443 Yep, Red Spruce...
Thank you for that. I was disappointed when he said adi top, although it sounded really good. No wonder. Its red spruce. Lol
@chippster stephens Thank you...didn't know...Merry Christmas to you and yours!
@@Southernguitar74 haha what the hell are you guys talking about its fucking baked Adirondack red spruce delicious
Is the headstock tapered? The guy on the left is irritating -- keeps playing while the guy on the right is trying to say something.
Paul, you need to sell a few more guitars so you can afford some new jeans!
I came for the guitar, not for the conversation. This channel used to have great guitar reviews, clear and focused introduction, and playing the same patterns each time. What happened?
You are looking for Tony. Tony ain’t with ‘em anymore, he has his own channel now @acousticlife. Btw they are not bad now but they don’t strum long enough and with open chords.
Роман Yes I actually think that Quinton is a better player, but his playing is not demo friendly as Tony that’s all.
ka lani I know where to find Tony if I’m looking for him ;) What I’m not looking for is andertons, with endless conversations and having to skip around to find the actual playing. I’m looking for what feels like authentic Acoustic Letter.
Nicolai Stawinoga I hear ya. Andertons sucks.
At this price level, the chat and involvement can be as important as the playing. It can be about what it is, as well as what it does. Tony P was ok in his demos, but now he's all about selling his merch and lessons. Quinton's playing is very good most of the time and usually gives a good impression of the guitar. Nothing worse than an expert guitar player making the instrument sound better than it is, other reviews are full of that, making a sows ear seem like a silk purse.
