    Wish we had that up here in Illinois. I looked at a Steinway model M yesterday. Looked good and sounded good but then I sat down and played it. It had been rebuilt at some point and not by Steinway. It did not play well, the action was not up to Steinway standards.

      @@jerryhillman4302 friend of mine has a Steinway model O. Had it rebuilt about 25 years ago and sadly it was not a good job - really have to struggle to get any kind of volume out of it, and the action is horrible

      In New York there's a condo complex called the Piano Factory where they used to make pianos.

      there is a guitar builder, harvesting all the old growth tone woods from 19th and early 20th century pianos headed to the dump. Ebony keys...fretboards, Brazilian Roasewood...back and sides, soundboards...from piano to guitar, soundboards.
