I definitely have my reservations about reopening the mall. The whole thing can be renovated and made into something that could benefit and appeal to everyone. But the problem is not the mall, it's the people of Pine Bluff. Even back when the mall was still operational and attracted a lot of business, there were muggings, car theft, and other forms of criminal activity going on in and around the mall. My mother-in-law lived within walking distance of the mall and the last few years before the mall shut down, she was mugged twice in the mall parking lot. Pine Bluff has one of the highest crime rates in the nation.
