    Hey Marcus thanks for taking the time and giving the energy to share a day in your life. I really enjoyed it and some words that come to mind are astonished, inspired and grateful to see your example. Some aspects about your life that I’ve seen in recent months I really like and would want to adopt into my own life at some point. I hope to have a sauna one day, be as attentive of a father, and be focused as you seem to be with the overall responsibilities of your daily life.
    And on the LMNT note, I just started drinking some this month. Raspberry is also my favorite and I’ve got chocolate salt in my next order -thanks for the tip to heat up the water for it.

    Really nice family Marcus. Thanks for idea to build a sauna, really miss my sauna time at the gym so already building some blueprints. We have similar routine. Wake up stretch and cold shower every morning than grab my daughter around 6:45am. Going to add sauna in there soon too.
    I know you know your stuff but from my own research and experience, I was thrown off by the coffee in the morning specially since you cold dip you shouldn't need the coffee. What I researched is that its best to just drink water and let your body wake up naturally. It is better to use your body's natural energy and let it build up its own fuel rather than drinking coffee and using that as source of fuel in morning rather than your own cells. Depending on when you wake up the best time to drink coffee is around 11am to 2pm from what I read. I really look forward to it and appreciate it more than as a little mid day booster.
    Didn't check yet but I will scroll through your videos to see if you have morning stretch routine. Always looking to add some tools in my tool shed from the pros. But try it out just cold shower or dip is all u need in morning and that coffee will be much sweeter in afternoon when your body is naturally running low. Was drinking my espresso while writing this actually :P

    When I started dieting in earnest, I swapped my coffee creamer for premade protein shake. One 12 oz shake is about 6 cups of coffee. I really don’t like the way coffee tastes, but I like the effects. Stevia and protein disguises the flavor fine.

    Great video. I know you've mentioned you weigh your food before cooking, but curious how that works for anything large like roasts you will eat over multiple meals or for bone-in pieces of meat (if you do those types of cuts).
    Also, lets say you saute food with added butter/oil, but eat that over multiple meals, do you even bother calculating the cooking fat into your meal?

    Hi Marcus, are you pretty much following a keto diet? Why the change to a more high fat diet? What supplements are you taking, amount and reasoning behind them? I loved watching this and looking into your programming at this point. I did a stint with Thundrbro and did enjoy aspects of it....been a comptrain person on and off for years too. Coming up on 47 this year and looking for more aesthetics while still getting my fill of crossfit. Look forward to hearing back from you! Stacey

    • @marcusfilly
      @marcusfilly  3 года назад +1

      Hey Stacey. I don’t follow a keto diet. I’m relatively low carb but I will actually have between 150-200 grams of carbs daily and that won’t get me anywhere close to KETOSIS. I don’t need the high carbs I used to eat as a competitive athlete. That’s the reason for the shift towards higher fat.
      The supplements I mentioned were vitamin D, digestive enzymes, and some fish oil.

    Fabulous content, down to the distilled truth in many aspects. I applaud you for sharing knowledge 👏and keeping it honest ✌️. Very refreshing to see your channel, especially considering the high amount of garbage on youtube.
    I have been thinking about adding digestive enzymes as well, especially to a protein-weighted diet with red meats. However, I am uncertain what’s best. Could you elaborate on / share which digestive enzyme/-s you decided for and why?
    It seems almost all brands have Cellulase added, which seems to defeat the purpose of adding insoluble fiber to the diet, and further could result in increased amounts of monosaccharide sugars getting released from fibers and absorbed, which may interfere with a low carb diet < 25 gr/day.

    It seems you're going for ground/pulled meats, colored non leaf veg, and little by way of fruit. I've been eating this way for a bit over a year, sometimes just a pound of meat, some days zero veg or fruit, if fruit always berries.
    I did notice too and think I'll research more about your enzymes and electrolytes! I do take liver/organs/marrow/brain pill supplements that I feel are supplying a lot of vitamins and minerals as well as supporting "like supports like!"

    I’ll be real, there is a lot of shit on the internet these days regarding macros and because of that I’ve developed a bad relationship with food. How do you decide your macros for the day, especially carbs.

    • @marcusfilly
      @marcusfilly  3 года назад +2

      Hey Sam. I totally agree. I've tried to develop an understanding of how food an different levels o f macros impact my body. How I have done this is through close monitoring and also acute awareness practices. For a period of many weeks I will follow something closely and see how I feel, perform, look, sleep, etc. This gives me insight as to weather or not something works well for me. Then over time I try to get more intuitive.

    • @marcusfilly
      @marcusfilly  3 года назад +1

      I've also got a repeatable system for helping people determine a macro starting place that they can then experiment with and learn from.

    Edit: Posted the questions before the last few minutes. Having switched your eating schedule for the past year, have you seen added benefit in intermittent fasting or was it more a matter of convenience and stress reduction?
