    That is quite a string of Red Equipment. That equipment will make farming so much easier and comfortable. Masey Ferguson has found a great farm to showcase their new equpment.

    Kayla, the massie is your house on wheels and its good that it has the bells and whistles on it to make the hours a little easier. Its good that the straw yield is there. Hope you get some rain for the hay and corn.

    Yall should run a squeeze unloading it's amazing how fast it will speed up everything. And I hope that 1842s works good I'm hoping to get ahold of one for next season

    Get in touch with your States road construction people and get contractors lists who need construction hay for drainage control. Wheat straw great for that.

  • @pauljones5495
    @pauljones5495 Год назад +1

    Can you explain how the bale length effects the grappler and stacking.? You mentioned in the video that Jason wants 32 to 33 inch bales. I could see how a longer or shorter bale would make your bundles not right. What do you do with the bales while you are setting up the baler. Sorry I don’t know about baling hay. I just buy my hay and that seems interesting to me. Thanks

    • @ChroniclesofKayla
      @ChroniclesofKayla  Год назад +1

      Absolutely!!! I’ll chat about this - This week when we’re baling!!! But more or less we want consistency- for the grabs / tie grabber on trucks being hauled home to the barns being stacked nicely. When you get too long of bales then it throws the stacks off. Causing a mess. Or if they’re too long on the tie grabber it won’t work as well either. They’ll fall out (not a fun time!) but mainly for hauling on Jason’s trailers - so that we are not “over width”

    Bale all the straw that you can this stupid weather you might need it to survive next winter with your cattlemen this fall.

    When do you blown out the fan on the bailer? Looks like straw keeps it blocked..

    • @ChroniclesofKayla
      @ChroniclesofKayla  Год назад +1

      The baler has what’s called a Knotter Fan- - it recycles every 5-10 minutes or so. I’d have to go back and really watch it to be honest. But the new baler has it as well - I’ll watch & report back.

      @@ChroniclesofKayla I will be the third generation taking over the family farm. We raise beef and I’m getting into the hay market. I try to stay with the weights you bale. But the potential buyer that I’m working with wants 100 lbs pure alfalfa bales for there market.

    Why you are using too big tractor, when baler can easily run with 50 pto HP. I think its fuel wastage.

    • @ChroniclesofKayla
      @ChroniclesofKayla  3 месяца назад +1

      The new tractors don’t use the fuel like the older ones do - and second when you bale every single day for 5-6 months. It’s sometimes about comfort too. - - this tractor also was put on our Large Square Baler - when we buy a tractor it has to severe multiple pieces of equipment. Like the silage chopper & our planter.
