No disrespect intended, I'm just curious why that is? I recently got this version and didnt even know it existed. I commend the development team for even making this game, tbh. Completely unnecessary but awesome of them!
@@Aye.Eye.Captain it's actually a very solid thps game. Considering that it has a lot of unique content and diferences with ps2 and PC versions, you can see it as a thps 3.5
@@patroclo160 this is basically a reskin of THPS2, with a bit of added content. It is solid, because its definetly for more advanced players. For example I played THPS2, THPS3 and then THPS4 all on PSX. No wonder I had biggest struggle with the last installment. When I picked up THPS1 about 2 years ago I was surprised how easy it was
By reading the comments it seems people didn't know there is a PS1 version, whereas I didn't even know there is a PS2 version with two additional levels (Carnival and Chicago) and better graphics too.
I laughed when, after struggling with the first pro goal, your immediate action after getting it was to invest all of the skill points you had occurred, but hadn’t used.
They're all great games, for sure! The reverse for me is true. That is, I actually didn't know that THPS4 was on PS1 until about a year ago, whereas I grew up w/ the PS2 version. Any version you choose, you can't go wrong. :)
funny! I remember going to town to buy 4 on Ps1. Went to the pub and spilt a dop of beer on the new manual. I cant stand the ps2 versions of TH games. The only other ones I liked were the two on the NDS. American Sk8land especially.
Man that tony hawk's pro goal was a nightmare, I could only complete it with the low gravity cheat available, but aince this is a speedrun wouldnt be allowed for the time to be valid
*Xindictive would like to know your location* Seriously though, good job. The controls are what really make the difference between this and the PS2 version, I imagine you had to near master them.
To be completely honest, I played this game my whole childhood and then didn't play it for like over 8 years at all. I played the game again after seeing some speedrun and this was probably my 4th try at seedrunning it xD There is many parts in this which could be done much better but I am happy with it.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 on PS1 😮
the best version for me

@@Aye.Eye.Captain This was the THPS4 i've played before i got a PC so this version holds a special place in my heart.

Me too

Carnival and Chicago are in the GameCube version as well
I remember getting all of the gaps on the game. Was the first game ever which I got the "platinum trophy" when it didn't even exist yet.

So nostalgic... Just completed thps 2 and 3, started 4 on ps2 and it's completely different game, i didn't know that. PS1 is closer to me 👾

My first ever skateboard game.
The struggle with the hard combo letters on college 😂 it must've taken me like 30 tries to get that goal.
bravo
how is taking 20 minutes for tony hawk's pro goal a world record time ? Is this like the only speedrun of thps4 ps1 version?
About, this was also like my second try.
soundtrack please 😭
I did not know there is a ps1 Version. Interesting how different it is. Everything is so... Empty
Are the technical limitations of ps1, as it can weigh more on game memory, without npc, it's more like modified thps 2, same thing with thps 3.
I wish I could get the game to run this smoothly on the PS Classic.
Hey do the thps3 PS1 100% please
I'll have to look into that!
I have question is this version of the game missing songs
I think it has 16 songs, and 19 song from other versions are missing.
If you meant that it is missing songs completely, then no. I had songs off as I was recording
@@Maashauu no it's cause I bought the game today and only 9 songs
@@hankhillofficialgaming2007 You have to find music tracks across the levels to unlock the rest of them.
you could use more wallies and special tricks to help your run on the sewers
on the tony pro goal you need to pick more speed

Way better than 3.
Why play as Tony?
For no particular reason. I just don't think that the character makes difference in my playing
Is this on real console or are u playing on a emulator?
Emulator with ps3 controller as I have no means to capture my ps1
@@Maashauu What emulator did you use?
Oh my god, did they actually release this for the PS1 or is this a mod?
They released it.
That’s insane. Had no idea they would even bother with the PS2 / Xbox / GameCube having taken over.
I’m getting the Xbox version delivered soon
@@bgrace94 In 2002 there were still lots of people with ps1s who didn't have ps2, so it made sense.
Watched the first 10 minutes and all I can say is...this is the world record? LOL
Sure, and it was also my second try ever :D Theres not much competition on 5th gen all goals category...
If I played this version of Tony Hawk 4 I would be jipped because these graphics are no good compared to the PS2 version
