Fourth Horseman ur a saint
Thank you cuz lawd
Excellent tutorial. I bought a new pair of clippers to do my son's hair and in the directions it just said "Oil the clippers" without any instructions on how to do so. You explained things beautifully. Thank you so much.
That’s exactly what led me here to 🤣
Perfect teaching, the way you layed out the information was perfect and smooth for learning. I appreciate your in depth knowledge and sharing it .
Awesome. This video was great. Followed it, and my clippers are humming like they're brand new. Thank you,, Larry.
Thank you! Makes sense to me, basically what I needed to know about where to apply oil and how much to use. Can’t visit my hairdresser so just bought myself a nice hair trimmer and sheared off all my thick hair. Very functional but looks and feels good, ready for summer. And when it grows too long again I will shear it off again. My trimmer won’t be used very often, but still needs correct maintenance. You men aren’t the only ones in a predicament right now!
Amazing explanation on why its necessary to oil blades and good explanation on how to do it. I find the entrepreneur speech and "learning how to market myself" speech in videos like this suspect at best, it makes a lot of viewers feel like a number. This guy did a fantastic job in the video though, well done.
Thank you 🙏
6:02 what is he doing with his right arm?
"not clipper oil by any stretch of imagination" hahahah
Thank you for the video Larry. I'm not a barber myself but I have an Andis T liner and judging by your video, I was not oiling the blades properly.
How often do I change the oil? Every 10,000 miles?
Most informative dude I’ve ever listened to, on a barbers youtube cannel 👊🏽Subscribe👍🏽
thank you!!
Damn Larry! That was an excellent video! Straight to the point and in depth. I didn't know the difference between the oil and spray. Thank you!
Nice video my brother. Keep up the good work.
I bought a pair of clippers for $30 on sale, and I seen they were marked down about half price. I didn't expect a miracle, but I ended up having to stop cutting my hair to apply a little more oil. I think I put a few dabs 3 times after that they seemed to work fine.
Excellent video, Sir. Take care of any thing and it'll last you a long time.
Damn COVID-19 I had to oil up my old clipper so I can cut my own hair at home :(
That's why i'm watching this video. I got to learn how to cut my own hair 😞
Damn COVID-19, I had nothing left to do inside the house, I even oiled my trimmer #toomuchfreetime

Thanks man ! Just bought my first clipper and was confused why the product gave me a tiny bottle of oil
That is crazy! It not even half🤦♂️
Would you suggest oiling clippers right before using them, after using them, or both?
Both
@@jacobsebastien3910
Wouldn't it clog the clippers or make it too oily, oiling both before and after cutting
After cleaning them. That's all that's needed
@@bobbarker5884 That makes sense. Thank you for the advice.
Thank you this helped a lot especially for a first time user like myself
How do you know when your blades need to be thrown away? Good video.
Where can i get clipper cleaner? (pipe cleaner)
Thanks. This is very correct
Can virgin unrefined coconut oil be used to oil the clippers
Thank you sir and be blessed!
Thank you Larry. The right information delivered very simply and directly. Sorted out my home use clippers to perfection.
Got my first pair of wireless clippers. Want to keep them in pristine condition for as long as possible. 🖖
Ok that makes sense - then you should be cleaning them with H-42 or charcoal starter fluid,, both fluids are ultimately Distillates (petroleum) hydro treated light - cleaning your clippers with this fluid before oiling them - will keep them in pristine condition - I am tipping you ahead of a new video....
Thank you bro, I just found your channel and I think my blade got faster after I applied the oil lol it's weird but it got louder and the vibration got stronger, I'm not a barber, I got my personal clipper for my mustache and beard cuz I hate em
Great advice right up to the oiling part! It is just as important to oil the back rail as it is the front. It is metal to metal, just the same and any heat generated here will transmit to the front.
Hi can you share the link the pipe cleaner brush?
Thank you
Hi, what sort of grease do you use for the motor? I've got a wahl clipper and cleaned out the magnet/rotor area, not sure whether to use lithium grease or silicone.
Where can I find a pipe cleaner?
Amazon - no problem
Good vid really got the information I needed how to clean and oil the proper way. Although I only use my andis clippers for grooming my own face it’s great to keep them in good condition thanks again.
Gotta think of it like a car you’d never let your transmission run with no fluid lubricating the metal parts
Long story short..
1. Use real thick oil (not spray)
2. Oil it turned on, get the blade all oiled
3. Do it after every use of your clippers
Starts at 6:19
Thank you so much for the short story re-write you are too kind 🙏
Great video!!
Turning them on and oiling it is words to live by if you don’t like going in dry
God damnit, all these years I figured I had to disassemble the shit. This is fucking simple. This is one of the things you miss out on being raised by a woman.
Thanks Larry. It was comprehensive for home users.
i try!!
Larry really knows his stuff. Salute.
Kyle Matthews It's common sense

Hi larry, this video was very helpful. Quick question, if i use the T-outliner on just myself, how often do i need to clean and oil the blade?
Adam Shalashaska when the blades look dry and do not have oil - the cleaner the blades the better the performance
Helpful video, ty. I have an older Remington that does not have manual or oil. Is there an oil in my home that I can use w/o purchasing specialty oil?
Maggie M try vegetable oil
I did use a few drops of olive oil, afterward. We’ll see....
I'm a late-comer to this video, but very much appreciate your very helpful tutorial, especially as a home-hair-cutter.
Hope you and your family are well and safe in this difficult time.
Your probably a late cummer to pretty much everything!
Do you need to put a few drops on before and after 2 or 3 Haircuts? Is it okay to have your trimmer or hair clipper turned off before you start? Just want to be safe.
Great tip and very well done vid, thanks!
Thank you
Got a new pair or razor. Is there a specific oil that should be used? Mine got a free small bottle and i’m wondering if i can just use baby oil when the free bottle gets used up.
Clipper oil makes the best oil to lubricate pistols and rifles too. Heres a tip to sharpen your clipper blades. Get yourself a bag or container of GRITS or Corn Meal, pour a few tablespoons of it into a bowl, and turn on your clippers and while its on and running just put your clipper blades into the Grits and push some of the grits into the running blades. The Clippers will turn some of the grits into a fine powder, and thats ok...let it run in the grits for a few minutes, the grits act as an abrasive on the metal blades and it will sharpen the blades without damage, and spray off your blades after turning it off with clipper spray, and oil the blades, and your blades will be as sharpened as the day you bought it.
Sounds like a good idea I'll give it a try thank you.
One of the best clipper care guide videos lots of great information
Good job thanks
Wow this is one hairy instructional how to vid! You might want to trim your next video down a little bit bit.
Remember... less is more.
I think mine Andis Styliner ll pulls my hair I tried to fix it once but still pulls my hair so what I due is shave my head down and let it clime out again and the I keep shaving my head down I really wanna get a new one but I think it's just the blade replacement which just got replaced
Late reply but clippers will pull when the blade is dull! My barber changed his every 3 months but he's a barber and said the recommendation was every 6 months, so I'm sure you can get away with much more time with yours. Anyway, hope you figured it out!

What causes the buzzing sound on your clippers to get really loud, louder than it should be?
The tension, he has a video of how to adjust the tension
How often shd I be oiling my blade if I use my clippers 4-6x a week?
How are you doing Larry. I'm a barber in the U.S. I want to know how can I get my hands on the Cordless Seniors. They are a MUST HAVE for my arsenal. Thanks in advanced. #BARBERLOVE
Great information, thanks. I have two questions one, having a hard time finding oil could any of the cooking oil be substituted I had heard maybe coconut oil and two I came across clippers that said they don’t need to be oiled what do you think?
Oster puts out clipper oil; go toAmazon; or use sewing machine oil, also available on amazon; vegetable oils are too heavy or thick for clippers.
@@stephenshalat181
What about liquid paraffin ?
How often should i replace my blades?
That depends and it is also a topic for another video - the more you oil it and the cleaner you keep it - it could allow you to keep it for the life of the clipper
@@larrythebarberman i clean then every time i cute my hair every 2 weeks. I had the same blades over a year now
Good stuff !! Then you need not worry yourself with answer to you question - your good 😌
Yap yap yap, 521 befo he actually showed how to oil the clippers.
“Gunk & Goop”
How long after successfully applying the oil should you wait to use your clippers?
As soon as the oil has run evenly through the blade
@@larrythebarberman Thank you! I heard from someone that you needed to wait a full day. That didn't seem right to me.
Yeah they were pulling your chain!!!
Can we use Gear oil?
Okay 3:40 was funny lmao
Its true
i cut my own hair, do i have to oil my clippers before and after i'm done using them? Every single time?
i would, as you should clean after every cut, which means they will need re oiling after cleaning

@@larrythebarberman The same to you as well my friend...
my question is; when will you need to oil your electric razor ??
Can the common house whole 3 in 1 oil be used as well to lubricate? I just so happen to have an 8 oz bottle of 3 in 1 oil that I use on my sewing machine.
I'm using motor oil, works great!
Great video man thanks. Up until now I just bought a clipper for you hair and a trimmer for my beard and I never read the instructions. I never figured out what the oil was for and as a result I'd throw them out and get a new one within a couple of months. Does it have to be trimmer oil or would I use an vegetable oil such as coconut or rapeseed? The shops are closed because of the C-19 lockdown at the moment and those kinds of oils are the only ones I can get my hands on.
I’m new to cutting hair do you put oil on trimmers
Thank the is good technique and information
7:09 You got a huge bin there!
No, no i the tissue was slightly smaller than the bin, so not very big at all 🎯🎯🎯
excellent information that you are providing to us. is there a video on how to care for a foil trimmer?

I hope you don't mind. If so just let me know and I take it off quickly. No disrespect intended.
How do you open that little bottle
With a, knife, finger nail, screw driver, etc
@@larrythebarberman why you didnt show how
Lift the pointed part with one of the above - because I was not suggesting it is the only oil to use
Do you have to oil them after every use? I only use my clipper on myself. So I won’t be using them that much as a professional
no u should use oil like 4 or 5 times a month
The oil has two functions. First, it lubricates the blades, reducing friction and making the blades work better. Second, it prevents rust while your clippers are in storage.
Because you use yours only occasionally, the lubrication function won't matter to you very often. But because they'll sit a long time between uses, it's more important for you than for a barber that you keep them oiled between uses to prevent rust.
A little care will keep them running well for a long time.
@@johnd7564 the vids says that already

How often should you oil your clipper
7:57
If you're using it for home use... I'd say, before every use.
Not just after. Since you probably want the oil freshly applied. Rather than oil oil from last time you used it.
Or you could oil before AND after, but that seems like overkill and rather pointless for occasional home use. Unless you're a barber and there's no real difference between "before" and "after", since it's mainly all just "in between".
just use the oil dont need the other stuff if only using the blade on ya self or not to many folks its all i use and blade is sharp
Can you use baby oil?
No wonder my hair is oily.
Really good video thanks for explaining 👌
