I like the coloring on this one and I'm also really impressed with the new (very realistic) Beast Wars comparison.
I'm surprised we haven't got an Animated Megatron Generations Selects retool on this figure yet.

      LOL on the comparison!
This guy would make a great Animated Megatron except I think he's too small. Maybe an upsize to Voyager (at the very least) would make him an excellent retool!
      Thanks for watching brother!

There is landing gear you are correct about the wheels on the guns. However in the instruction manual they tell you to use the same pegs for the hands for the guns as you should on the underside of the Wings. However this is wrong which you should use is the rectangular Peg with a little knob on the top which would then make the wheel face downward will fit in that Peg hole that's the proper way that way you have three wheels a full set of landing gear. Hope this helps some people. @Bert

halo. nice review. about the weapon, you are right that there is a wheel molded in each weapon. but you have to put it in the most outer peg of the wings (use the minus tab to the circular hole). so that the wheels touch the ground in each the wings and will create a stable landing gear with the center one.

Fun fact, the head is actually from the Takara Legends version, so this is the first international release of this tooling!

I love the WFC stuff, but Titans Return still stands tall as my favorite set in recent years. They’re just so neat!
Also Bilbo Hoggins is my favorite hedgehog name now.

I'm sure someone said it already, but yes, it used to be Gort. Probably done for copyright reasons? Or maybe they just liked it when they renamed him Xort for Titans Return?

Gah! Been looking for him since the second wave hit. He's the last one I need. Walmart exclusive drive me crazy!
You're right, it was Gort in G1.

I checked TFWiki and yeah you're right, he was called Gort originally. I guess they lost the rights to the name and weren't able to get them back or something.

The landing gear on the guns do work. Plug them into the 5mm ports on the wings.

This guy's hands are a nightmare for me. They're really loosey goosey. I kinda hope they revisit these guys after Legacy to give him modern engineering standards, but these guys are still pretty good.

Different strokes. I prefer Brainstorm and Hardhead. Where Highbrow and Chromedome are the ones I leave on the shelf. I also put Preceptor in this group. He's one that being a headmaster makes too much sense.

And Titans Perceptor is just such a great figure all around. He’s replaced the older classics one in many people’s collections, and for good reason.

Interesting. Came for the comments on the combined gun mode.. I didn’t think landing gear, to me it looked like a hinge joint that I was hoping someone knew where to combine it to.. almost looked like I could connect it to a target master..

Highbrow is the last one I need now. Found. Chromedome after saw a restock of wave 1.
Gort is the name I remember too.
    Hunting him down for sure.
Bring on the Junior Headmasters now. Also the Target masters and the Junior Targetmasters at that (#wewantneedlenose)

@@BertTheStormtrooper if you combine the guns, they make that weird seat thing correct? Well if you look 2 like pillars(what I assume is supposed to be an ammo clip) those are what will connect to to where the gun handles would plug in. The gun with the tabs will plug into the left arm, the gun handle will point inside. And the gun with the holes for the tab will plug into the right arm, the handle will also point inside. The hollow gaps of the guns should also be on the bottom. Sorry if this is confusing, that's as best as I can describe

I'm sure you're probably tired of my "promoting" the OS/KO's of these guys, lol, BUT... They seem to be slightly more in line with your particular preferences when compared to the G1 figures.
I've noticed that it's a little something different with each one, and with THIS guy, it seems that the folding/non-folding rotors and the size of the Headmasters themselves would appeal to you on the OS/KO version... As the rotors actually do fold up, and the Headmaster figure is just about the same size as the G1 figure... Unfortunately, it doesn't hide the backpack face, but the size is closer if not spot on... (I don't have any G1 Headmaster figures to compare side by side, BUT they seem pretty close, especially with these guys being a larger voyager size.)
Also, whether this is a plus or minus, or a doesn't matter category, they all have significant die-cast components, which really adds to their heft factor.
I actually picked up a 2nd Hardhead & Highbrow OS/KO so I could do sort of a pre-titan class, initial Headmaster upgrade at voyager size, like in the Marvel Comics Headmasters series, BEFORE they re-engineered his body to incorporate Galen/Maximus into Galen(Spike)/Cerebros/Fortress Maximus' MUCH bigger configuration... To do that, I utilized Hardhead as the base, because of his treads resembling some kind of heavy-duty alt mode, BUT the head didn't work, so I utilized the noggin from the Highbrow figure to approximate an earlier/(younger?) somewhat Maximus-esque look, and painted it up using black/gray/silver & blue for a closer color scheme to the official toy, INSTEAD of the weird brown & gray comics color scheme. (Imagine my surprise years later when I finally saw an actual Fortress Maximus toy... And it wasn't brown!!😲😅😅😅😅)
Most people probably wouldn't give a crap about that as a custom figure, or even think about it, for that matter, but I wanted a Fortress Maximus that scaled closer to his original team before becoming Headmasters, as part of MY collection, so I figured close enough for me.
I'm still trying to figure out what character I can make using the extra Highbrow Transtector & Hardhead noggin, now that we already have Apeface & Snapdragon...🤔 MAYBE a Decepticon still, or possibly an Autobot but repainted somehow...?

If you want this guy (and/or Hardhead, Brainstorm, Skullcruncher, Weirdwolf, Mindwipe or even Chromedome) at more of a proper scale (except Chromedome and maybe Mindwipe, IMO...), there are some equally awesome OS/KO versions of these guys for ABOUT the same price or LESS, at a voyager size (old voyager, not new voyager, so slightly bigger).
I HIGHLY recommend getting them! Skullcruncher is HUGE in gator mode, but has improvements in bot mode that Hasbro skipped/skimped on, that you'd both really appreciate, as collectors AND as reviewers, such as forearm panels to hide that gap and his rear gator legs fold INSIDE the backs of his bot legs to both hide the legs/fill the gap and ALSO provide rear stability to offset the backpack... Brainstorm comes with 2 guns I believe, instead of ONE... Highbrow here has folding rotor blades... Can't remember about Hardhead aside from just being bigger, but may have some panel closures these releases didn't/don't have...?🤔 didn't get the Chromedome, because his car mode wouldn't be in scale with anything, same with Mindwipe as a giant bat already at a deluxe size, and haven't yet decided whether I actually WANT OS Weirdwolf, for kind of the same reason...
Oh! AND they have significant die-cast portions also, so they definitely have a good weight and don't feel cheap AT ALL! I bought BOTH versions of these Hasbro figures (well, the first 4 so far!), as well as 4 of these OS/KO versions, and the KO's are just as awesome (or better) as the original Hasbro figures.
There's ALSO a FULL team of these OS/KO (PotP) Terrorcon figures that form Abominus, if you want bigger monster modes, and they're about deluxe price or less depending on where you buy them.... If you're interested in those at all...
