Far the most great pianist of our time musically and technically. A genious. We had his visit in Buenos Aires some years ago at Colon Theatre. After the magnificent programme he gave us 9 bises,
Arcadi Volodos: For me the best pianist of the 21th century in musical matters , as well as in technical sense. A very great live concert with great musicaly emotions !
The Rachmaninov is playing beyond words. Titanic both in conception and overwhelming in execution, the bravery of opening a concert with something like this is remarkable. But to be able to follow it and maintain such a level of execution and musicianship is extraordinary. One of the finest keyboard artists currently before the public. I heard him this summer at La Roque D'Antheron. In a class of his own.
Yelling Crowd is like on an Open Air Rock Festival. Somehow the noise during the pieces is annoying, but on the other side I like the atmosphere. It remembers me to Liszt. He was a rockstar at his time.
Pathy1 All great international artists who come to this festival know what they are in for and they LOVE it. An evening off, they say.. they come for the fun of it. The concentration of Volodos is remarquable, he certainly is not annoyed. He loves to come to Holland.
Pathy1 See my previous note. For example, Lang Lang gave one of those concerts and not only did he also play quatre-mains with one of our Dutch young talents ruclips.net/video/UTAO2X1x-3Q/видео.html , he finished the concert with his personal rendition of the “national anthem of the republic of Amsterdam” ruclips.net/video/c6HrG8brKno/видео.html
Jan Doets Hi. First the yelling crowd is just unfamiliar. Take his time to become accustomed. But I like it. It also fits well with Volodos and his finger-breaking last pieces.
Typical POP audience. They don't seem to know a sonata mostly contains 3 or four movements. This results in clapping after each movement. Very annoying for this great artist.
+William Estep Volodos has always tried to be like Horowitz and his own arrangements are very much using stylistic effects that Horowitz used. And it is not like Horowitz arranged that many to begin with.
I wonder how many in the audience realized how lucky they were to be there.
Ian Board You and I know, Ian. We do.
Why are you questioning that? Look at the applause he gets.

The most insane concert given by the world's greatest living pianist, Arcadi Volodos.

What a thrill and an honour It must’ve been to be present at such a concert, thank you so much for recording it. It was a magical experience!

Very kind. Thank you. :)
This is Volodos at 29 years old. I would happily die at 29 if I could play like this just once before then.

+Jan Doets Lang Lang is not half the artist that Volodos is.
3:36 yeah sure liszt would have loved this kind of noise
Thank you, Jan Doets, kind sir, for publishing this fabulous concert!
You're welcome !
Superb!! He's a genius!! Thank you so much for sharing it!!
He is utterly great!
Not from this world.

27:37 the piano is on fire
Piano was on fire the whole time!
Wow! He proves how brilliant a brilliant madman was Liszt.
magnifique minute 40 à plus quelle musicalité dans ce ruissellement de notes scintillantes
Simplesmente fantásticos, Volodos e o público!!

Frankie Winters I’m going to sound like a douche but they’re called pieces
СПАСИБО!
К вашим услугам!
Гениально!❤
Second last piece is etincelles by Moszkovsky. Horowitz used to play this as well as an encore.
14:40
too beautiful 2nd !!!
great! thanks.
The penultimate work is Etincelles by Mozkowski, not Scriabin.
Rach starts at 0:41
The first piece is Rach´s Etude Tableau No. 9, not 6.
Shubert 👋👋👋👋
Crazy starts at 42:34
thanks so much!!!
Not Scriabin. It’s actually Volodos’ arrangement of Moszkowski’s Étincelles.
Мошковский Искорки
Rachmaninov's Polka Apocaliptique 😯
The best
one of my favorites five contemporary pianists, others lugansky, wang, lisitsa valentinavalentina
It's one thing to perform with orchestra brilliantly...he he does..but to carry the show solo like this? Horowitzian...brilliant.
Genius ❤✨💫
Total insanity at 43:47
Shubert 👋🇮🇷🤩👋 👋👋👋👋
Mr. Mastodont !!
Like i flat in Grandma in Warsaw
the last bis is moritz moszkowski etincelles!
わあ、鬼のようなテク!!
with Google translate I find : "Wow, a technique like of the devil !!
Yes indeed, Patrick !
Hello Mr. Doets, could you possibly send me this concert? to my email?
Thank heaven he doesn't play jazz. he'd even blow Tatuim oiut of the room.
Debatable, but I can say he clearly blew this concert out of any room as it is outdoors.
Unless one has heard Tatum at his best it is impossible to realise the enormity of my state, ent
He does play jazz, but he's more into Bill Evans. Check it out, it's on YT.
One is not comparing like with like. Genius is genius, and both give immense pleasure.
In Poland we like Grig or Chopin
I heard it, but I don't believe it!!!!!
Horns intonation a bit wonky.
A keyboard giant in his prime.
Terrible restless camera.
😂🇮🇷🙏💕. 👋👋👋👋👋👋🌺
esos holandeses cargándola :v sin R
Arcadia Volodos. 😂🇮🇷✅🖐️✅
Typical POP audience. They don't seem to know a sonata mostly contains 3 or four movements. This results in clapping after each movement. Very annoying for this great artist.
The first piece is too challenging. He probably needs more warm-up. A little bit too many mishaps considering his immense talent and technicality.
At what part for example?
hahahahahaha
Pleps
Horowitz was a better arranger of Hungarian Rhapsodies.
+William Estep Volodos has always tried to be like Horowitz and his own arrangements are very much using stylistic effects that Horowitz used. And it is not like Horowitz arranged that many to begin with.
Hell no
Horowitz sadly is no longer with us. He was a phenomenon. Volodos gives pleasure too , no?
Интересно,чем Мошковский похож на Скрябина...
Неграмотный, музыкально, режиссер..
