Adam Straughan, great reaction. So it's a song that is not Grace's composition, but I believe that nobody would interpret it with such naturalness and dexterity as Grace, she is a star of the 5th magnitude, she is incredible!
    "Success always"!!!

That's why since AGT several years ago when she first appeared, she is been my ONLY IDOL! She writes and produces her own music. Be sure to listen to all her songs. They are genius.

As mentioned by others, this was for an animated movie called Wonder Park. The soundtrack version heard here does feature a ukulele. I am fairly certain that Grace is not the one playing it. She just did the vocals. The version of the song that appears in the movie, used a guitar and was a bit slower with pauses in the music where the characters were speaking. This version is more coherent and upbeat.

This is my favorite song that Grace didn't write. This fit Grace's style perfectly. Great reaction sir. Now as far as my favorite that she did write, and at a very young age, is 'Florets' and her performance at the Brooklyn Art Library was mind-blowing. She explains how she came up with the title and this is a must watch if you like story telling. What I personally like is the simple lyrics but the incredible composition. You'll love it, guaranteed. ruclips.net/video/JBwFrkkORPw/видео.html

As an all time Grace Vanderwaal fan I know she said that she only had a smaill part in making this song as it was made by a comitee, even though I think they were all influenced by her anyways. Of course her singing was epic in this song. I am so happy you reacted to this song that I love so much. I am only sad that for some reason She seems to be trying to forget her old songs. I love her previous work as much as the new stuff, I hope that her best work is still ahead.

😀I wonder if anybody ever noticed what Grace and Janis have in common pertaining to their vocals. Ready! Both singers had complete control of their voices. Janis could drop her extreme vocal fry, and sing with complete clarity and tone, when she wanted. Grace also has the ability to go from her AKA perfectly imperfect fry and cracks ( on purpose by the way ) to sustaining notes with perfect pitch and pristine clarity. as in this song. A very rare gift. Thank you for your analytics and heartfelt sentiments on the true spirit of music, Ms. Grace VanderWaal! 👍👍p.s. most of the backing voices were Grace, LOL Carpenter vibes

A funny or sad story. I was chatting on YT with a girl who went to school with Janis and hung with her while she was on tour. During our chat I said you should check out Grace's Better Life from Austin, we could have another Janis coming up. I believed she didn't and probably checked out her sweet songs like IDKMN and Clay. She wouldn't respond to me after that.

You probably don't know the history of this song-I know I was fooled when I first heard it! This is a sound track for an animated film. (quite run of the mill) Grace came into the studio to record this and banged it out in one take, so the story goes. She did not write it, arrange it or edit it. She had nothing else to do with the movie. It is still quite in her style and she hit it out of the park-as usual. So, no surprise you loved it-so did every Fanderwaal.

I didn't note anyone here providing Grace's backstory, so here's a thumbnail. She wanted a ukulele for her 11th birthday because she watched someone playing one and loved it. Her mom didn't think she would keep playing one so she didn't get her one, but Grace bought one with her birthday money. She then went to RUclips to watch videos to learn to play it. Not long after she started recording cover videos on RUclips. She also started playing at open mics and trying her hand at writing songs. It went so well her mom encouraged her to audition for AGT in 2016. She got on the show, at 12 playing the ukulele and singing her own song "I Don't Know My Name" with her unique voice and style. It went viral. She stuck to her guns and did nothing but sing her own songs on the show and play her ukulele, all the way to the final, where she won the season. Since then, she has released EPs and a full album, performed at festivals, toured, sang this song for a movie. Fender release two Grace VanderWaal signature ukuleles. She stared in two Disney movies as Stargirl. And she is still creating unique, wonderful music at just 19 and her voice and her skill is still maturing. She is so much joy to watch and listen to.
OH, and little known thing, she used some of her AGT winnings and got on the Tree House builders show (Animal Planet channel) and had Pete build two tree houses, one for her and Frankie her dog and one for Olivia her big sister.

Pretty good history, she is also named a women of Distiction for her charitable donations to her comunity, she has two music scholoships for students seeking a musical career and created the little miricals workshop, fore kids and has been named by Billboard in their 21 under 21 as the artist to watch and has been name in Forbs magazine in their 30 under 30, 5 time as the youngest artist to have an impact in music October 1st is Grace Vanderwaal day in New York by the NY Senate prisented by senator Carlucci. All of this is just the tip of the ice burg, please fallow her career, you wont be sorry, our fapmily has fallowed since her Up-Tube days before AGT. She is a legend, one more fact Rolling Stone Magazins called Grace Pop prodigy a genius for sure, thanks again!

Two other things people overlook. One is Grace took piano lessons and didn't like it so this could be the basis for Tina's unwillingness to buy Grace an instrument. At that point Tina could assume Grace just likes to sing, not interested in instruments. Also Grace used some of her winnings to finance a School Districts choir, the Ukes people sent Grace went to schools..

I love that you called it gorgeous, therefore I know you will love the soundtrack version. It's an acoustic / synth / orchestral suite with several movements composed by Steven Price for a long scene in the film. Grace's vocals are all there (including the ooh ooh's), with some beautiful interludes featuring clarinet, piano, viola and cello, overlain with ethereal synth production. It is five minutes of delicate beauty. Link to the soundtrack version: "Various Artists - Hideaway Medley" ruclips.net/video/nRKsrX-I61Q/видео.html
Note on the film: It didn't score highly with critics (or with me). Although the animation is beautifully done, the problem is in the dialogue characterizations that don't fit well into the script or mood of the story. It would have been a hit if Pixar did it, but oh well. It was a cute film otherwise. This version of "Hideaway" is a break-out number. The other singer in the film is Rachel Platten, who did the main Wonder Park theme.

I think I said this the other day, but I’ll say it again. I have a lot of catching up to do with Grace Vanderwaal.
On another note, did I give you any links for Connie Talbot? I know I did somewhere. I don’t want to be redundant.
