I really appreciate your comments on ADD/ADHD. My 17-year-old daughter, we're pretty sure, has ADD, although we've not been able to get her tested. I'm hesitant to put her on medication, so we're trying to help her as best as we can. She's doing well with school but still has many struggles. Hard to watch as a parent and someone that dealt with a learning disability too. Good luck with your move!
I really enjoyed how you talked about your diagnoses of A.D.D. I was diagnosed with it when in third grade and, along with medication, one thing that helped me was Taekwondo. What I took from it was the discipline and focus that the martial art taught. It is something I would recommend to anyone, A.D.D. or not. There is so much that one can learn from Taekwondo, or any martial art, more then just how to defend yourself.
I love your Q& A sessions, Julia. You are so forthright and honest in your replies. Also, you are v insightful with a wise head on (relatively) young shoulders. So excited to see where you will take us from Pennsylvania!! Best wishes to Eric and his family too. Xx
Also, FYI, as an American expat in the UK - you don't have to pay US taxes when living abroad unless you make over $112k (for this year), but you do have to file taxes every year (you get a credit for the taxes paid in your country of residence as long as the tax rate is higher than the US which it usually is in Europe). However, there are a lot of super complicated and annoying tax issues when living abroad (like reporting bank accounts if you go over a certain amount at any point in the year) among other things.
Julia. Take it from this senior mamma. Don’t quit! You’re 5 years in. Philly will be great for you. Take time off without pay when you can and all your gwop. It will be so worth it if you stick it out. Summer is crazy and it’s also been a tough few years. You can do it!!
I have suffered with ADHD pretty much since i was 6. Back then Ritalin was the only med available. Which after years of being in it, started to have adverse effects. The biggest helper, learning a musical instrument. Sounds weird i know. But it stimulates your brain, makes you learn how to concentrate on tasks, helps with impulse control. So many benefits. At 42, i still get out my clarinet much to my families chagrin lol. But i have considered learning the cello just to try something different. I havent been on meds since i was about 14. Good luck with your journey.
I worked ticket/ramp for an airline. I went to PHL to help out for a while. It was completely different to work there than my airport. It was a great experience going from a small airport where we did everything to a huge airport where you only do one thing. It was a great experience. I would love to work at a larger airport if I ever got back into the industry.
Hi Julia, while I'm sorry that it's family health/medical issues that are inciting your move, I am super excited for you, Eric and Luna to be headed east! I know this Philly move will be fantastic for your family - and hopefully will send your mom and dad that way as well. Fall is my favorite season and I know you will love it in the northeast. 🍁🍂🍂 Thanks for the Q&A session -- they are always so much fun! 🥰🥰
Thank you for talking about your ADHD. When I watched this video a few months ago, I realized we needed to get my 15 year old evaluated. School struggles started as he entered high school and classes were more challenging, but you mentioning learning to drive was problematic really pushed me to get an appt scheduled as we noticed he was also really struggling with learning to drive with way too much to focus on at the same time. He just started medication yesterday. Looking back there were other clues when he was younger. Thanks again for sharing your experience.
It is so funny that you mentioned the book "Throne of Glass". I have the book and honestly have no idea when I got it. I will definitely have to read it next. Right now, I am reading a book one of my friends wrote about her life. Good luck on the move!
Thanks so much Julia for sharing, very informative. Wishing u, Éric and Luna nothing but happy and healthy times to come in Philadelphia and with ur new base. U deserve only the best of times to come!!!😍✈
It is so exciting when there is a next chapter of life. I would love to live on the east coast. I chose to live close to my son and his family as sharing life with them fills my life with joy. You’re voice on this video shows how excited you are for the move to Philadelphia. I am so happy for you, Luna and Eric to have family close. I wish you the best as you all get everything all settled in your new “home” whatever that looks like. Sending you love, light and hugs!! Blessings for a happy life!
I love how you answer everybody’s questions nicely. You are so awesome! I am so proud of you and Congratulations on your late 5th Anniversary of Being a Flight Attendant!! I love the celebration! Keep it up! I hope you are doing great!
@@JettingJulia - I have heard that there are approximately 6,500 AA FAs based out of DFW. Do you know approximately how many are based out of PHL? As always, Cheers from GEG!
Welcome to PA.....I see some Cheesesteaks in your future. Good luck with the drive to PHL. You already know the drive in from the suburbs is not fun. Fall is amazing here in PA, their is nothing better than a cool crisp dry October morning warming up to 75.
Hi Julia! Just want to wish you all the best in your future. I still say you are one of the classiest flight attendants on RUclips! And, one of the prettiest. I've always enjoyed your videos! All the best!
Great vlog as always, Julia. Wish you, Eric, and Luna all the best as you start this new chapter of your life. It would be great if your parents moved to the east coast because then you would have Eric's family close and your family close. Are you going to miss Kat when you move? I have heard that up in Boston, and that area, when the leaves are changing colors, it is to die for
Colorado Fall here is great for colors but two things. East coast colors are more vibrant (more reds) and you step outside and are immersed unlike Colorado where you generally have to drive to the leaves. Moving from DFW is a good move.
Hi Julia, I’m a fairly new subscriber and really enjoy your vlogs. I don’t typically comment but had to say that as someone who also has ADHD I couldn’t agree more, transitioning from one activity to another is so difficult. Your strategies seem to be working so well and I admire your self discipline. I always use an old school timer. When the timer goes off I have to move on to another task. Thank you so much for sharing your life and all the best as you embark on this new adventure.
Great idea. My son does this. For everything - gaming time, dog time, exercise time, TV time, study time. It's the chunking idea used for discipline. All the best to you both
The universe knew you needed the change and put you in PHL. It just so happens his family is there and it is an base? Not a coincidence. Glad you’re getting this much needed change! Safe move and travels !
I lost your channel when I had to redo my RUclips and just now got back to it. My wife and kids and I live about an hour north outside of Philadelphia, so we're probably not far from each other! My wife is Portuguese and we visit Portugal every year typically. Our trip this year is in about two weeks. Lisbon is an amazing city! We would be happy to tell you all about Lisbon if you're interested in learning more about it before you get a trip there!
I think you will really enjoy the fall in the East coast. It is my favorite time of the year. Hiking is nice then if you guys do that! Hope your transfer goes well and you are enjoying things living with family and saving up. That is an awesome family to be a part of to give you guys that! Much love 💕 your friend will have to come stay with you ;)
Hi Julia, I am catching up with this video. I am so glad you've got your transfer to Philadelphia. So you will get better flights, more international etc. If there's anything I've learned just recently is life is far too short, so you got to do what makes you happy. Glad to see Miss Luna as always.
Dopamine has to be the reward (or at least for me with adhd). Anything I do, I make sure the end of the task gives me dopamine. I put myself on a timer for work, chores, or practically anything
What a comprehensive and wide ranging and yes fun session! I'm so sorry for the issue with the ADHD meds, I hadn't heard that happened. As far as cheesesteaks go..I love them.. BUT without the cheese!!! So I guess they're just steak sandwiches LOL. (like peppers and onions on them). Never been to any of those famous Philly eateries. Very cool we are in- state neighbors!!
You seem more at ease now since you have made the decision to move. I made a life-changing decision last year and moved closer to my family but I moved away from my granddaughter, which was very difficult. It is not always easy but things do fall right into place. You will be experiencing the opposite in extreme weather than that of TX., but I'm with you-I love the fall!🍂🍁Best wishes to you, Eric, and of course, Miss Luna!! See you soon!!😊
Enjoy the Doylestown area. Bucks county is beautiful and close to both Philly, upstate Pa (Poconos), as well as New York City. Since you never know how long you'll be in the area, make sure to take advantage of the Autumn season and explore the mountains just north of you.
You're gonna love Philly it's a great city! So much to do there and a lot of history! Don't forget to visit Liberty Hall and run up the famous Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Art Museum and (if you like cheesestakes) you gotta try their famous Philly Cheesesteak it's to die for! Best of luck with your move!
@@JettingJulia you’re welcome! I’m about 3 hours away from Philly so I kinda know the area! Also check out their sports teams if you like sports! Just don’t become a diehard Eagles fan because I’m a diehard Giants fan haha 😂!
Welcome to Pennsylvania, we love our food and sports haha. I hope to see some Vlogs of you checking out some of the nicer Philly neighborhoods as well as some of the smaller towns like Lancaster, Phoenixville, New Hope, Bethlehem, etc. I give you and Eric a lot of credit for settling down for a while in a new city like Dallas, but I'm sure he's really happy to be close to family again
I don't know about DFW traffic but PHL traffic🙄😵💫😳. It took me 2 hours to go 27 miles from the airport to the hotel when I visited. Hopefully your commutes to the airport are smoother!
Thank god you went to Pat’s! Sorry that you didn’t enjoy the cheesesteaks, there’s a lot more great food around the city to experience. 🤣 Pro tip from a Jersey girl. You may have already been here, but if you take the Ben Franklin Bridge into Jersey, a few miles down is awesome shopping at Towne Place at Garden State Park. Welcome to Philly.
I just love your personality Julia . Glad to hear you and Eric are happier in PHL. Sorry DFW didn't do it. Prayers to you and Eric and his family. Be well and I still hope to meet you 1 day at the gates in DFW ✈️. Luna is always a bonus in your vlogs. 🐾😍.
Julia, happy to hear your positive outlook on moving to Philly. I hope to be on one of your DFW flights before your move in August. I have only been through Philly once on my travels.
PHL is awesome flying. If I wasn’t MIA based, I definitely would pick PHL. You will definitely like it a lot better than DFW! 😊🩵Best of luck, and stay safe.
I hope you are having a great week and my mom used to work for Delta Airlines. We used to live in Houston Tx and we moved to Georgia when I was little. My mom got a job transfer when the based closed in Tx. Also, family comes first
LOL another comment. First.if you go to Lisbon, try, try, to go to the Duoro valley. It is absolutely gorgeous. Lisbon is great, but in the summer it will be crowded and touristy. Dont jujge it during the summer. Now for the fall, I would recommend going to either upstate NY or perhaps New Hampshire. I used to have a condo in Bartlett, that I would have offered you, but alas, we sold it. Leaf season is short. And it gets crowded up there, so you should try and make a reservation when you can. You could go to areas in PA, but the leaves are much better the further North you go. (Oh, perhaps VT too) And yes, it will put you in a New England mood. Have some apple cider, and pumpkin pie. And try out the micro beweries.
Whenever you get your own place, you may want to look for a place closer to the airport. I suggest looking at Springfield or Media, in Delaware County. It’s less than 30 minutes from the airport. Don’t feel bad about not liking cheesesteaks. I’ve lived in the Philly area for 14 years and have count the number of them I’ve had on one hand. It’s cliched fast food, like a Chicago hot dog.
Throne of Glass definitely has some romance (not as super spicy as ACOTAR, but it’s there - I think it takes until book 2 to get really into the romance though). It’s really good and has some fascinating twists. Also, Kerri maniscalco’s Kingdom of the Wicked series is really good and very spicy!
I was surprised when you talked about why not Colorado; your airline I thought had a crew base at Denver-did something change on that or was there no slots available?
Hey Julia, if you chose to live in Denver then switch to United airlines for Salt Lake City delta airlines. Back to Las Vegas, Spirit Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, Allegiant air and Southwest Airlines. If you stayed with American Airlines then it’s better to move to Philadelphia.
I love living an hour north of Philly! It’s just the best! I’m song,ad you are enjoying Philly and welcome to the area! Maybe I will run into you at the airport going forward!
Thanks for your latest update. My 11 year old daughter has just been diagnosed with ADD and we are just starting the journey so it was comforting to us that we know that we are heading down the right path to make sure our daughter can avoid some of the difficulties you had. In regards to US citizens living overseas paying tax. I am one of those living in New Zealand. You are required to file the annual IRS tax return but you are only liable to pay the US Federal Government income tax if you are paying the government where you reside less tax than what you would have paid the US and it is only the difference between the 2. So you are not paying 2 income taxes, well the IRS has never requested money from me. This is to stop US citizens from living in low tax countries not paying any tax. By filing your IRS return it also means you are still able to claim the US pension when you are entitled to it.
Julia my son went through the samething. He came to us and told us he was having trouble focusing. Eric is on his meds and doing well. Just graduated Pharmacy school as well
You mentioned about 18-19 minutes in about two trips you can get in Philadelphia that you can’t get in Dallas-Athens and Lisbon. What trips are you “losing” (I.e. not able to get in Philly but able to get in DFW)?
Hi Julia, if you are comfortable sharing, could you talk more about why you felt burnt out from flying? I know you explained it briefly but if you are able to share more, I would be interested to hear your perspective because I have considered a career in aviation myself. Thank you and best wishes for your move!
Congratulations on you being approved to relocate your base to Philly. Your will me in my area, I am in NJ. I don't have ADHD., but haven test anxiety. I had a job that while I was in training they where test crazy, it didn't last long.
Read Throne of glass before Crescent City. There’s some spice towards the end but the journey is worth it. It’s up to you if you read it in the purist way or the romantic. Purist is Assassins blade first 😊
I know you're always in the air but what do you think about the sub tourist Titanic missing? Don't go to Colorado: it used to be awesome but has gone completely downhill with everyone moving there.
Hey Julia! Hope you’re having a great week, Luna is always so cute! Wishing you the best on this new chapter of your life! Greetings as always from PR🇵🇷
I don't have adhd, but do have test anxiety and other learning disabilities. College was a challenge and there were times I wanted to quit, but didn't.
@JettingJulia I'm on the same time-sensitive ADHD medication as you are, and have been since I was diagnosed in the 4th grade back in the 90s. (Yes, the shortage made it VERY difficult to find until about a month ago.) One thing that I've learned about the disorder over the years is that even though the disorder doesn't go away, it doesn't define you. I still take the medication because it's the only thing that will help me to focus and concentrate. Unfortunately, since the medicine is a stimulant, there's no way that I could be a flight attendant, especially if I had to do a lot of east-west travel across multiple time zones. If I got to my destination and needed to go to bed at a certain time to be ready for the next day, there's a chance that the medication would still be in my system, and would prevent me from sleeping when I need to. I don't want to cross the HIPAA line, but I'll assume that you haven't had any issues with this side effect. Just out of curiosity, do you know if your airline would make any special flight scheduling accommodations for those in my situation? As long as it's not a red-eye flight, I could fly north-south all day long with no problem. I could even go one time zone to the east or west with no problem. However, I know that most airlines are all about seniority when it comes to selecting where to fly, and sometimes one may not have much of an option as a newbie working reserve. Finally, since I would have to live with my folks in East TN for the first few years (due to the drastic cut in pay that I would have to take), I would definitely HAVE to commute to CLT. Based on your experience and knowledge, what are the odds that I would be able to get CLT as a base hub?
I am fairly certain that you will be living close to me! I've been flying American lately and am hoping to travel again next year; that would be awesome if we ended up on the same flight. Hope this change works out for you!
Hi Julia 👋. Sounds like you and Eric have made the right decision to relocate to Pennsylvania. Will be looking forward to watching your "inaugural trips" to Lisbon and Athens 😊. Take care. Please say "hi" to Eric and Luna. 🫂❤️✈️🙏🌎🕊

We used to live in Downingtown PA! It’s a cute family area!
If you can go to Reading Terminal in CC . You’ll love KOP area , Valley Forge , Lancaster areas .
We are entering Hunger Games times, good thing you will be closer to family.
Good luck Julia and I hope things go good for you and Eric i understand about family and being close ❤
Yea glad you’re moving to Philly!!!
I live in Switzerland. You (and Luna) would love it!
You two have to check out New Hope...not far away from your new home. Great little town with shopping, restaurants, bars and entertainment.
We went there a few summers ago, I can't wait to go back it was so nice!
I love living an hour north of Philly! It’s just the best! I’m song,ad you are enjoying Philly and welcome to the area! Maybe I will run into you at the airport going forward!
Important episode. Well done.
I have always been told you are safer in the air then on te ground. Window seat is my seat😊
I want to go to Philadelphia as well! Especially for the Beyonce concert on July 12th!
It's really comforting to hear you and see you. I've had ADD most of my life and I'm 68. your very amazing
That's cool that you will be on flight to Europe that is one of the countries i wanted to visit.
Julia my son went through the samething. He came to us and told us he was having trouble focusing. Eric is on his meds and doing well. Just graduated Pharmacy school as well
👍there’s a big thumbs up for you Miss Julia! You are in my prayers. I hope your doing well!
Thank you so much!
You mentioned about 18-19 minutes in about two trips you can get in Philadelphia that you can’t get in Dallas-Athens and Lisbon. What trips are you “losing” (I.e. not able to get in Philly but able to get in DFW)?
From Sarah j definitely a court of Thorn and roses is the best… by far! TOG I got to the second book and couldn’t even finish crescent city 😅
Thnx for the update Wow that's a big change
Hi Julia, if you are comfortable sharing, could you talk more about why you felt burnt out from flying? I know you explained it briefly but if you are able to share more, I would be interested to hear your perspective because I have considered a career in aviation myself. Thank you and best wishes for your move!
Great video Julia. Welcome to my neck of the woods in Pennsylvania. So happy for you , Eric and Luna. We also have family in the Philadelphia area.
Awesome! Thank you!
Be careful of black ice in leaving early mornings routine . Going around bends .
Congratulations on you being approved to relocate your base to Philly. Your will me in my area, I am in NJ. I don't have ADHD., but haven test anxiety. I had a job that while I was in training they where test crazy, it didn't last long.
Best of luck with your move. Welcome to the East Coast!
Good luck to ya. Miss seeing ya around the DFW. It's okay. DFW. Different F...... World. Best of everything.
Read Throne of glass before Crescent City. There’s some spice towards the end but the journey is worth it. It’s up to you if you read it in the purist way or the romantic. Purist is Assassins blade first 😊
Also recommend Zodiac Academy by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti (they have a lot of awesome books)
I don’t envy that Bucks Co to PHL drive. Brutal.
It’s longer but actually easier than my current drive to the dfw airport! Surprisingly enough lol
I know you're always in the air but what do you think about the sub tourist Titanic missing?
Don't go to Colorado: it used to be awesome but has gone completely downhill with everyone moving there.
Hi Julia! All the best to you and Eric for this new chapter together.
You're very brave to discuss your ADHD/ADD with your fans; maybe somebody watching will have a similar solution to their situation
Welcome to Philly!!
I love to read as well how many books have you read lately?
I'm excited for you that you are being based in PHL! You and Eric will have a great time!
Hey Julia! Hope you’re having a great week, Luna is always so cute! Wishing you the best on this new chapter of your life! Greetings as always from PR🇵🇷
Thank you so much!! I hope to be back in PR soon!
@@JettingJulia Definitely! You’re always welcome!
Please becareful in Philly!! It's a mess there.
Good Day ! Luna
I don't have adhd, but do have test anxiety and other learning disabilities. College was a challenge and there were times I wanted to quit, but didn't.
Proud of you for not quitting, good for you Brian!
Once you guys get settled in Pa, you must make the short drive to the Delaware beaches { Lewes, Rehoboth, or Bethany beach}- all are hidden gems here on the east coast!
Thank you, I cannot wait to see all of the hidden gems!
I wish you the best of luck with your move. I have family who live 1 hour out from Philly and can promise you that Fall there is just beautiful. Looking forward to your vlogs and hope you get wonderful flights to Europe!!!
