It's mind-blowing to think that she was only 15 when she wrote this absolute gem of a song. The way it's so honest and painfully real is incredible, especially since most of us have felt like that at some point in our lives (many more than once). It's so relatable. And her voice... I just love it so much! Seeing her live singing this is just out of this word I'll cherish that moment forever and hopefully will have a repeat in a few months
I think you guys would like ‘Your Power’ the dark story behind it, the way the lyrics hit and Kyle would probably love the mixture of both practical and CGI effects in the music video.

This song breaks my heart. I live in this mindset. Lifelong mental illness, exacerbated my bullying and severe abuse. Your brain starts to replay those awful things and tell you the same things. My mirrors are covered (for "aesthetic" purposes is what I tell ppl) or stuff is piled in front of them. Because I'm tired of my own judgment. My reflection, she's heard all of the abusive, horrible things thrown at me over the years, only they come out of my mouth. "Fat, ugly, lazy. No one wants you around. Why are you still here? You're old now, useless, broken..." I haven't wanted to be me for decades.
I'm so sorry to read this. I can't say I understand because I'm not you but at the same time I had a rough time as a teen. I'm much older now but my Dad was an alcoholic and verbally abusive when I was growing up. I had to leave home at a very young age and I've had to work on my mental health most of my life. I hope things get better for you. I wish I had some magic words to say to solve your problems and how you feel. All I can tell you is that therapy does help over time. I’ve been following her since her SoundCloud days, one of the few artists that I actually would go to SoundCloud for, cause as a general rule I can’t be bothered to deal with SoundCloud, and even after all these years, it still blows my mind how young she was, and how GOOD she was at such a young age. This song, along with bellyache, was probably the main song that made me so impatient for her to come out with a full length album. And she’s been knocking it out of the park ever since.
The colors performance of this song was how I first discovered billie, she had just put out her EP. I couldn’t believe she was like 15, I’ve been such a huge fan of her and have loved watching her grow up and mature artistically ever since. I’m sure the xanny music video is on your list, I also highly recommend the live mahogany version of COPYCAT! So glad you’re enjoying her music
