Riverford Organic Farmers case study: Delivering good governance in an employee-owned business

Riverford Organic Farmers, which transitioned to employee ownership in July 2018, scooped one of the four public vote awards as part of the 2022 EO Stories competition.
The Devon-based company won the Delivering Good Governance category after it showcased how the interplay between its three governing bodies makes it stronger and protects it for the long term, while ensuring every co-owner’s voice is heard.
The EOA went behind the scenes at the organic veg box delivery company to find out more about the importance of governance, which is one of the three pillars of delivering ‘Good EO’ as an employee-owned business.
