I did not know that Dina can play chess without moving her lips.
Agreed. Dina without trash talking is just not the same!
lol..how true; she had that cobra look in her eye...you just didn't know when she was going to strike but strike she would! ;) Love ya Dina
always trying to distract
I wanted to hear what she said that was muted before her first move. And "so that's why he doesn't study" was a serious burn.
Dina will never like this post 😂
He kept his own until he blundered the fork under time pressure. He did well! Impressive.
For being nervous, and a play first attitude, kid did great!
I was very impressed with his play. To find out he doesn't study was mindblowing.
He didn’t strike me as nervous until he was talking with her at the end (I don’t blame him for that at all). She was concentrating hard while he was pushing around pieces quickly and staring around at times. Her focus won in the end but he played almost as well.
Honestly. The part that the conversation at the end was super sweet. Love the trash talky, chess board flipping, fun side of Dina but this was also very nice. Her sweet side. She was very kind to a nice young player. He played quite well it seemed.
Chat telling the kid to start the game was hilarious.
Tbf, just show up on time?
@@1wakuralainI didn’t wanna because the TD ali told me not to but chat convince me
giving him tips and pointers at the end was very nice of you
Dina is nice when she's not obviously goofing around for fun.
@@garypierce7380 I've said it before, Dina trash talks to hide how nice she really is.
To be fair, even when she trash talks she's nice. Would have to be very thin skinned to take offence.
@@tonyhawk123Dina can be savage with her trash talking when she wants to be. I mean that as a compliment.
She was on Coffee Chess recently and some thin skinned people were in the comments about her trash talking. Those comments disappointed me. Trash talking is part of the fun of Coffee Chess! She fits right in and is so entertaining!
But it's also refreshing to see the nice side of her like in this video.
We're lucky to live in an era where there are so many outstanding chess RUclipsrs!
@@TheRuns2 I agree completely. Life would be boring if everyone worried constantly about "offending" people, as if we're obligated to protect people from feeling offended. It's a construct in their own heads, and people can claim to be offended by anything, so I'm hopeful that Dina never panders to this.
Yes Dina on Coffee Chess was fun. It's probably the first time I've seen Boston Mike get nervous. A sight to behold! Mike is another good example incidentally - a little barbed but all in good fun.
Jan Gustafsson used to do a good moody persona as a break from his normal nice side too. And Naka has picked up the mantle too, he's done a couple of streams where he is full on cranky. Not as funny as Jan and Dina but props for trying.
Dina to Bortnyk: "He's also in your group? Oh, that's why he says he doesn't study."
I really like how you talked him and encouraged. It’s these interactions that have a positive and long lasting impact on people
Kids are terrifying in tournaments. They’re always underrated rating stealers lol
When Dina compliments that you're a strong player with only 1.5 years under your belt, you can be proud. The young man played well. He'll go far.
I keep coming back to this video because I blundered so badly but afterwards I beat her 3-0 in casual blitz. Don’t believe me? I really don’t know how to prove it but my full name is Musa Ahmed naushad
Love how Bortnyk just walks away after the fork
i played this kid once at the carolinas classic, he's super good. definitely reaching master level sometime soon
Oh wow
Did you lose?
yes@@The_Mind_Journey
great that you respect the kids
Bortnyk's face after he blundered the rook 🤣. He played well if you don't count the rook.
8:38 for those looking for it!
Pleasantly surprised to see the softer side of Dina. Kudos to Mousa for holding his own!
Nice game. I was shocked when he said he’s 1685… I thought he played well above that.
Hes probably not had enough tournaments to reach his actual elo.
@@iseriver3982he legit said he dropped 200 points but for a KID who DOESNT study my god hes good
@@iseriver3982 he said he recently dropped 200 points in rating.
He also said that he dropped 200 rating points. He definitely played like 1900+ for sure
I like the quiet seriuos Dina, her game is more enjoyable then, by the other hand the 12 y/o got me impressed. He's very good.
The young man knows his opening lines and then he got lost a little. Well played though. And Dina always plays well and looks lovely.
The arbiter was not supposed to reset the clock. Dina should have started with less time, she was late
This is my favourite content from you. Good music, by the way.
Dina is such an incredible specimen of the human species. God damn she is nice, and smart. And that kid did well, too. Good game.
Really enjoyed the game. I like to watch serious playing instead of all the trash talking which only takes away from the games
Very entertaining, and I liked the background music
You are the most wonderful chess content creator I’ve ever seen. I hope your rating will be 3000 one day soon.
I don't play chess, but I enjoy trying to guess why that move was made, or what the next move is. Your videos are also entertaining . You were very kind to the man.
Oops, I meant "young man".
feels good to know that genius players blunder very easy-to-spot-moves too and not just me
Good game! The young man played very well. Maybe a future grandmaster.
The playing hall looked like some school tournament.😂 Anyway, it was nice to see Dina, "the lovely one".🤺 Be careful, in the end it will turn out that you have a ❤. 😳😂🤫
ew
Was a great, fun to watch blitz game.
The 12 y/o played well above his rating and I think if he had another 20 secs or so, he would have defeated Dina. The boy is a genius.
I misread that as "another 20 years or so" lol
no. not even close
@@phen-themoogle7651 That might actually be true.
1650 as a 12yo is not a genius, I'm 14 rn and 2300 no title almost playing chess for 6 years now yet i suck cuz I'm stuck in that rating for long time now
this makes me quit chess but it's hard to
I think he noticed Bortnyk was watching and came under pressure.
GREAT MATCH!
Clearly GM Bortnyk is an excellent coach
Very impressive game! Defintiely gave as good as he was getting until right at the end. Considering he must have been nervous playing Dina and especially with his coach watching he held it together very well. I'm guessing he's 1685 because he hasn't had time to gain all the extra points! Nice to see Dina's kind side too :-)! (Whe he started I did wonder if Dina was going to show up late and then arrange her pieces before playing :-)!)
1685 is quite good if he blunders rooks like that frequently.
We witnessed a grown woman taking pieces from a child. However, much to his credit, he kept his composure. Chess can be cruel.
I like this more. No evil talk, just a good game. And nice talk with the kid. This is more my thing.
I can go with that...she's pleasant to look at anyway! :)
Watching Dina play chess is awesome. Learn something new usually and she’s so gosh dang pretty to look at, shoulda moved to Russia when I was 18 🙃
I am surprised to say I missed her talk!
nice game.these kids are strong!
Finegold has a video that talks about the main difference between masters and sub-2000, is that sub-2000 play great until they blunder their pieces.
Great example.
As a similar rated but much older player than this kid, I still do the same thing, esp in blitz.
A musical overlay instead of Dena's incessant yapping...What a pleasant surprise!! ;)
Call him by his name Dina! Don't just call him "Bortnyk's Student", write his name so we can keep an eye out for him in the future. He played great!
Moussa !

Awesome 🎉
Cool musics ! Profound
Funny thing is after the tournament they played casual games and he beat her 3/3
Reminds me of Kramer doing karate.
Nice. Thanks.
Wait, why do some tournaments force players to start who are waiting for their opponent, but this one resets the game? Individual tournament rules? A set waiting grace period?
u need to get chill in ur lyf
@@barindersran1090😂
@@barindersran1090why this random insult bro? Chill in ur lyf maestro
Given that they were talking during the game, I guess this wasn't a very formal tournament. I think the kid started the clock because he looked at chat and they told him to do it as a troll, then the arbiter just reset it when she returned.
@@barindersran1090woah relax bro, I'm asking an honest question 😂 I've seen GM players who wanted to wait even longer and an arbiter force the time to go. This kid waited awhile and finally just made his move. Was wondering why it's different in this instance
The kid is a natural
Года два назад был матч Бортник-Беленькая (1 минута против 5). Бортник её на запчасти разобрал.
thank you
Well he plays the exchange Caro so we know he's already soulless.
To be fair the kid played well. Even managed to equalize . Sadly he blundered under time pressure
Yes, that young man is very good for a beginner. That game could've gone either way.
With the youth, to the endgame.
no trash talk with a 12 year old? would have made me proud
She should’ve switched her king and queen starting positions and when he made his first move reported him to the arbiter for an illegal move
how do you get this board analyze on video while playing?
When I make a mistake, I want to smile as Moussa does.
Fun!
he's saying he recently lost 200 rating points so he's probably closer to 1900 which makes a bit more sense. 1895 before whatever happened recently plus probably played very few rated matches
I played this kid a couple years ago in Charlotte before he got this good
Nice!😊
The kid reminds me of the young Alan Parrish from Jumanji.
Feisty Forest vs Dina. The "clean" edition
That handshake, though.
8:42 lmao
Very impressive for his age
His performance was around 1500 elo which could be because of speed chess.
Did anyone else get the same feeling when Beth Harmon plays Russian kid?
Kid forgot rule number one of chess. Jobava forever!!
quiet and serious
Kid played well. He might have won if he didn't blunder the rook.
Did Dina say J'Adoube when she MOVED THE ENTIRE CHESSBOARD??
I kid i kid
Dina gave him "the stare" when he played c4... you little boy don't let the demon in ... Wait he has a twin in the audience
good game
Dina the super grandmaster trash talker strikes again, Nice game dina
I love her trash talk❤
Dina's game without trash talk is like a butter chicken without chicken.
2:02 i would trade that that dark square bishop . As then she cannot sacrifice her light square bishop for knight. Losing both bishops would be crippling and white could try and make king side attack.
I think they set the board up wrong in the end Lol.
What a dick move restarting the clock for a late oponant. I'd start it and make my move immediately on time. Not my fault you were late, you knew when it started. kid got screwed over by them.
Late because she couldn't put disn those 🐍snakes🐍 😂
what is the music she use in this video?
Kid played a great game, shame about the blunder in time trouble. Music was kinda weird :)
I think being late to the board is very disrespectful.
I love this quiet and serious Dina better than trash talking one.
I love that we get a mix and see each side of Dina. Both sides are such a pleasure to watch!
the clock should not have been reset if she didn't turn up on time
DID YOU KNOW THAT IN ANCIENT ROME THERE WERE NO LOWER CASE LETTERS SO WHENEVER THEY WERE WRITING ANYTHING THEY WERE SHOUTING IT?
6:05 she blundered, kid!
Rc2 - Q somewhere, then Kc6! and you fork her 2 rooks...
She only talks to him because of the camera
This is cute, show's you can keep our kids from being too bored... My lovely Dina 😉
Dina....!
Why is that "what a shame" on thumbnail? Did girl lose to that kid? Please tell me.
Somehow got access to a school and cam 🙀😞 and won
Why music ?
I think kiddo is much stronger than 1685.
made plenty of mistakes
@@deeptime5581 sure, but for 1685 played very good.
I love you Belenkaya......
He was almost completely defensive. Needs to learn to attack with an aggressive spirit.
she's prettier when she's not talking trash
How did she stay quiet for an entire game?
That’s what I’m asking myself
