this was uploaded on an interesting day for the Sun, in a curious coincidence.
Got on twitter for the first time in a while. Saw the link, and usually I wouldn't click it, but something told me to. Now I'm just here, listening, feeling. Not a lot of things make me believe in fate, but this is certainly one of the few.
Now imagine that the Proprietor of that newspapers' dad, set up a political party. Now imagine that that political party is in power during a pandemic.

I went to liverpool once, and it was glorious. Every taxi has a sticker saying The Sun not welcome here, taxi LIVERIES saying Don't Buy The Sun, print shops with signs saying "we'll print everything but not The Sun", it's a city showing a shit corporate entity the finger.
Someone should play this to Keir Starmer.

I live in San Francisco and thankfully have no access to The Scum. But as an American Liverpool Supporter, I will never read or watch anything that has The Scum's name attached to it.
The one thing I can't understand is how come Kelvin Mackenzie can still show his face in public. Even worse, he's still treated like someone whose views need to be respected.

I disagree. The lyrics embody straight talking: at a time of PR bullshit from the papers and the government alike, Billy Bragg cuts through it all. Phone hacking and aggressive journalism is wrong, and its up to everyone to change that.
Being able to capture the national mood is a real talent: Bragg is proof that this is as true today as it was in the eighties.
Not a big BB fan, but I agree with this. Why do so many working class people buy this Tory Rag. It has a reading level of 12. More a Brexiteers type of paper. Their reading level too.
