  • No shreddy stuff in this one. Edit: I lied. There's a little bit of shreddy stuff past the halfway point that I forgot about. :p
Nice track by Elevated Jam Tracks (link below). ‪@ElevatedJamTracks‬
Just waiting for the new pickups to show up for this #Charvel (I bought some #SeymourDuncan Phat Cats for it) then it goes to the shop to get finished up. Using the #fractalaudio #axefx3 as always.

I got the primer gray one might relic it a little bit. It seems to suit that guitar. Thanks for another great session.

Is the primer gray a satin finish like the gold? Should wear easily if it is. The gold ones will probably look good as they age and get some battle scars.

Yeah, it feels just like primer paint pretty thin. I don’t wanna go too far with it but I think a couple scratches will make it look tough.

I can never decide which I like better: ebony or roasted maple. I think the ebony feels a little warmer to the touch when you're playing. Can definitely feel it here. Your jams have been consistently more and more cohesive. This could easily be a song

Ebony has been my favorite since forever. Maple (roasted or not) would be my second choice with rosewood being 3rd. I think Ebony has the snap of maple but with a bit of the warmth of rosewood. More maintenance than maple but worth it to me.
I appreciate the compliments. Phrasing is my biggest focus. I'll never be John Petrucci as a shredder but good phrasing and vibrato can go a long way.

@@dmnguitarist make it tasty and it'll satisfy any palate. Technical stuff is impressive but music is about feel
Ebony does look the best just have keep that shit oiled so it doesn't split 😔

Another nice one! Question for you - what's your take on 22-fret San Dimas/So Cal's vs 24-fret DK24's? Do you prefer one over the other? I currently have a San Dimas with a Floyd but have been entertaining the idea of a hardtail lately.

The DK24 definitely has some modern elements that the San Dimas and SoCal don't have like 24 frets and the shredders heel. That said, if I absolutely HAD to pick one, I'd take the 22 fret San Dimas/SoCal over the DK24. It just has that classic Super Strat feel to it versus the smaller DK body. I like both though. There's a Desert Sand hardtail on Reverb for only $625 right now. I'd jump on that in a second if I was in the market for a hardtail DK24. My Desert Sand DK24 shreds.
