I grew up in the UK and left ten years ago. On the weekend I left there were three seperate stabbings in my city. But I can recall back in the late 90s there were "no-go zones" in the UK, and that violent crime and youth crime was sharply rising. Its been "Broken Britain" for so long now there are generations who think its just normal. I have no idea why the UK is such a mess, except that education for the lower classes has always been under funded and abysmal, and that a school system like Germany would greatly benefit a lot of young people who fall through the net.
New Town in Birmingham is probably the most dangerous place in the UK. Large mainly 1960s council housing, high unemployment, high immigrant population and plagued by g@ng crime. Residents have to move upstairs after dark to avoid stray bull ets.
