Measuring the distortion of time with large scale structure

Large-scale structure surveys provide key information about the content and geometry of our Universe. They typically measure the velocity of galaxies and the Weyl potential, through gravitational lensing. In this talk, I will show that these two quantities are not enough to test the law of gravity and the properties of dark matter in a model-independent way. However, the coming generation of surveys will allow us to measure an additional quantity, the distortion of time, through the effect of gravitational redshift. I will present the methodology to detect this effect, and I will discuss how it can be used to test gravity and the properties of dark matter.
