For the first 3 minutes I felt I was watching the cut from some movie, wow wow wow! how much quality in your videos! Congratulations on your win - well deserved! Seriously, after watching your videos and hearing your stories and feel like standing up and doing something right away, so inspiring! Wishing you all the best in the future!👏☺️
Aw thank you Kris! I'm hoping to put out my actual proper short film in the next month or so and then working towards a much bigger short film in the coming months, exciting busy times ahead!!!! One day we can make a bakery movie and you can act as advisor whilst ale stops me from eating all the food props! Haha.
@@aramatkinson where your movie is going to be uploaded? definitely want to watch it! haha I am in!🙋🏼♀️😄 that would be the most fun and cinematic bakery tour on RUclips 😁
@@KrisKazlauskaite @Kris Kazlauskaite I will be uploading it to RUclips :) Hopefully I can get it an online premiere on a filmmakers platform but after that then I'll post it on RUclips :) Also I ate dinner before I watched your stockholm pastry tour...still left me craving pastries haha.
Cheers man I hope to finish it soon! I like the tip about starting where you can instead of writing each scene chronologically. I think the creative process doesn't really work like that, it's hard to work linearly. For me at least you have maybe one scene idea and you know roughly where It should go in the story and then when you finish that scene you learn new things about the character and create new scenes.
@@gianlucamatteo208 100% agree. It's great to know where your character is heading, and how they need to change from the start and end of each scene, but often that comes organically by just writing the one or two scenes you have an idea for and learning the character as you go.
Congrats for the winning and thank you for the useful tips, Aram! One question, which kind of sources for feedback did you rely on to improve your script (other than friends)? Any reliable (and cheap) one you would suggest? Thanks again!
Hey Emanuele! So I really really rated the feedback I got from bluecat screenplay contest. It did cost a fair whack more than just entering but the feedback was incredibly detailed, helpful and encouraging. Highly recommend. That said it can be hit and miss with these things, depending on who the reader is, I got feedback from another contest that was absolutely ridiculous. Writing consultants can be good if you find one that comes recommended and isn't too expensive. I had a consultation with Karol Griffiths and it was great, but i don't know how much her services cost. I don't tend to get too many friends feedback, 3 at the most, but 1 is a screenwriter whose value I trust and I read his scripts in return. Having 1 really good allie who can asks questions and make you think about your script without just focusing on negatives or too afraid to say anything truthful, really helps!
@@aramatkinson Thanks for the detailed answer, man! Hope you get your TV pilot made soon! By the way, may I ask you what's the logline of your script? Are you planning to publish the scene you created for the pitch? Thanks again!
@@emanueleboscofilms no worries! And yes, it's taken far longer than I hoped in post production cos of life and schedules but the music composition is almost finished so it's very close to a release! And sure thing, the longline needs a lot of work but this is what it was when I won the contest - (it's a very big concept ok it's hard to boil down 😂) Under the paranoid shadows of the newly constructed Berlin wall, a marginalised jazz artist, an ostracised diplomat, and the deaf teenage daughter of a stony MI5 agent, seize the opportunity to change their lives and society forever after the murder of a British nuclear scientist drags them into the dangerous spy games of the cold war. With fractured families and ruthless governments prepared to do anything to stop them, survival may be the worst fate of all in this 1960s thriller drama.
Aram, this is absolutely amazing. I knew you won but watching this video, wow. You're really a hard working person and no doubts why you're getting this success :) Will def recommend your Skillshare class. Keep up the great work! I'm really excited about the short film you'll put out!! I told you before but I don't miss a single second when you upload a video, masterpiece! 🎥

Congratulations! That's amazing and inspiring
Thanks Ali! Hope you've got some writing of your own to get going :)
