Hi Damian, many thanks for making this excellent video. If I had not watched your video, and had not marked the plastic bracket locations, etc., as you suggested in the video, I probably would have broken some of those brackets. After watching your video, I was able to remove the door panel without damaging it, and to perform the lock/latch replacement (with a lot of guidance from your door lock/latch video), and now my passenger side window operates perfectly! Thank you so much for producing these invaluable videos!!!! You rock!!!!!
Dean, no problem. Thank you for your feedback and kind words. It’s nice to hear our videos and the attention to detail is actually helping people practically. Much appreciated and very glad you fixed your car, regards Damian
Thanks Damian, had done this 4 years back but have a suspect door module so into the door again! Your video is really useful to remind where all those dreaded fixings are located - not for the faint hearted! All the best Dave
Dave, thanks for the feedback. I find it very annoying when I accidentally break something whilst trying to fix something else. Glad the video helped in a small way avoid this, regards Damian

Hi Damian, thank you for this and marking the locations of the fir tree clips. I had to remove the door cards to adjust the front windows because of gaps with the rear windows on my convertible. This ensured things worked out well. Cheers!

Hi Damian-I received the switch today. I will be showing this video to my mechanic! Thank-you so much for the comprehensive instructions!!! Sad that I have to remove the panel at all. But at 26 yrs old, what can we expect! Ill make sure I have the Super glue! Stay well! Ben 😀
Thanks Damian. Really helped me remove both cards. One of my Firtree holders was totally missing, I was able to drill and tap the back section M6. Then screwed in a number plate screw minus the head - worked a treat.

Hi there. Are you able to advise if it is possible to replace the central arm rest panel in the door card when it’s removed or it’s sealed and never coming off. I ask as mine could certainly do with some form of retrim and it’s either fix the old if at all possible or purchase some off ebay or somewhere? Thanks
Phil, yes the arm rest is a separate part and can be removed by unscrewing the four screws (with large gold washers). This has to be sone from this inside after the door card is removed. You can see some of the fixings in the video. Good luck with the retraining. Thanks for the comment regards Damian
Bart, I don’t think the rails need lubrication because run on plastic liners. However, I have applied a same amount of grease on mine to assist. However, don’t know if this was a good idea of not yet. Thanks for the compliment and comment, regards Damian
Kellier1916, assume you can access the inside? Pull the interior door handle? Central locking not working? Not sure of the situation you are in, regards Damian
@@ODRModurol yes I can access drivers side, unlock drivers door with fob ... Hear the actuator going and cycling the handle on the drivers side about 5 times ,... think the car is trying to unlock passenger side too but no movement on the deadlock ( inside passenger door handle stays depressed still) when I listen to the passenger door there is only a small click and no motor/actuator function. I think one of the micro switches has been displaced or has failed as the same problem is described a little on the jaguar forums. Pulling the handle inside or out has no effect (deadlocked) so my plan is to remove the door card as much as possible with the door still closed and then try to get the door open so I can access the mechanism. Now all is fine but I'm not going to lock her back up so I can be sure to have a look at the micro switches first. I hadn't driven the car for a few days so possible that the bat was slightly low.... Lesley, Its a bit of a technical, industry and historical explanation. I believe the original flat door interior linings were just fabric or plastic covered boards. Possibly made from compressed card hence the name 'door card'. Now the lining are a bit more complex but essentially still fabric cover compressed card. The door panel is normally referred to as the metal inner and outer skin components. It's not the normal definitions but what has commonly used in the automotive industry. Interesting you brought that up as I forgot that this might make sense to everyone. Thank you very much for your input. If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask, regard Damian
