@@kellydalstok8900 obviously can't speak for Damon, but to me it seems to mean a moment so unique and fleeting that you don't have time to contemplate your reaction to it, overanalyse it, etc. Just to be present in it and consumed by it.
@@kellydalstok8900t's an acknowledgment of the shortness of human life, and the sheer bliss of finding a true love in that momentary existence. This track is written from the perspective of having broken up with someone who you tasted that fleeting sense of true love with and saying to them "we're running out of time to fix it" and if we can't fix it here on earth, I'll be waiting in the afterlife (The Heights) to stand next to you again.
There are not enough words to describe the brilliance of this song. It is so incredibly good, with Damon´s reflective lyrics and Graham´s buzzing guitar sounds. It all works together mind-blowing perfectly. The sound at the end is phenomenal! What a masterpiece! A new Blur classic.❤
Been a big Blur fan for over 30 years and they have written some amazing songs, released some brilliant albums ,seen them live a few times but this song by far has to rank as one of their best, what a brilliant song, this and The Everglades have put some much needed happiness in my life, Well done chaps, don't ever stop.
Excellent ending to such a beautiful album! It is incredible how everything destroys itself at the end of this song...truly bombastic sound. Blur really nailed it with this whole album! 😍💯❤
I think in this song the heights is a metaphor for climbing a mountain of an achievement for whatever means something to you and when you reach the top your so exhausted and not in the right mood to comprehend that achievement that you are basically in there with the audience clapping with their sense of wonder
The last part is incredible. At the end of this song, I felt like I was disappearing as my life passed by like a flashlight just before I died and my brain stopped at the end. It's a sad but beautiful song! Thank you, BLUR 💙❤️
I've been listening to Damon because of the album he did with Bobby Womack. The more im hearing and seeing him... im appreciating him. He seems like a man with awareness, generosity and a social conscience. I liked the early Blur songs and I'm loving his creativity and how bold he can be in changing his style and the types of life issues or situations he writes and sings abot
check Black Book, it was actually produced by long time The Verve producer, you might find what you're looking for in there... because I cant hear McCabes guitar in here, just Coxon's signatures all over the place... with a bit of Alex's who wont remember me of Simon...
If the experience is all we'll ever know, isn't the before & after us the real flashes in the pan? When people say our lives our completely insignificant blips when stood against eternity, I would say that our lives are all that is significant & the before / after are the insignificant blips. Idk I think about this stuff nearly 24/7 & tryna find the right mindset to not worry & just be present & truly savor the experience
cool, never thought of it like that...mmm 🤔 I've always thought of the unseen as the eternal where there's nothing to worry about because we just recycle back into it and we come to this life as a soul to experience the material form but in comparison to eternity that's just a momentary thing and we need to appreciate and experience everything in it's entirety because the only guarantee that we have in life is that it doesn't last forever, nothing does. I think life is a beautiful thing to be appreciated in whatever form it takes. Worrying about our inevitable exit from the world is only natural from our human conscious perspective as we over think our experience. You've just got to appreciate the small things, if you're in good health, your health but a sunset, a butterfly, a pattern in the clouds a rainbow they're all gifts...noone knows what happens after death but it comes for all of us so we need to let go and make peace with it. I'm probably being naive but there's nothing we can do about it except appreciate each day we have breath...some of my friends died young and I can only appreciate the fact that life is a delicate thing. All you can do is try to live out your expression in it's fullest form and if you have a life mission try to fulfill it, you'll have less time to worry about it. Hope that thought form helps a little bit? Anyway sending you hugs💗 🤗🤗🤗
This whole album is flawless -- musically and lyrically. Goosebumps, joy, tears, every emotion. Imagine Oasis trying to write something of this depth! 🤣🤣🤣
Fripp-esquë 🎸 especially the outro...'nice one Graham" I 💙 the sound you got on this & St. Charles Square...🤓 As for vocals WOW' Real feelings of 💔 Damon... I hope the hurt gets better m8 & I 💙 the optimism your conveying in this beautiful tune 🎵 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This song is about returning to God our creator ..The Heights. being in heaven and sitting next to our loved one. This one is in honour and dedicated to Suzi . The blinding white noise at the end signifying the reaching of the heights and the blinding white light we call bliss. This song is the best on the album . It's sublime.
that's actually very beautiful. although I interpret it as addressing some kind of performer-attendance relation ... like talking directly to the fans.
momentarily suspended in the mushroom spore print...and then...eternity dissolving back into silence... "In his book I Am That, Nisargadatta Maharaj said, "The world can be said to appear, but not to be. The appearance may last very long on some scale of time, and be very short on another, but ultimately it comes to the same. Whatever is time bound is momentary and has no reality'."
"Something so momentary that you can only be it" = bloody brilliant line
Okay. But what does it mean?
I think it means a brief, one-of-a-kind experience you feel very strongly, but can’t wrap your head around what it actually is
@@kellydalstok8900 obviously can't speak for Damon, but to me it seems to mean a moment so unique and fleeting that you don't have time to contemplate your reaction to it, overanalyse it, etc. Just to be present in it and consumed by it.

@tracyjacks7523 this is how I take it too and it kind of sums up how I felt about seeing them at Wembley ❤

This song opened up the floodgates for me. A heartbreaking cherry on top of an incredibly emotional album.
Bloody good album, really like this one and Barbaric.
If I've not already cried by this point in tomorrow's gig, I definitely will be when this some is played...
I have cried more than a couple of times to this song.
What a heartbreaker.... The lyrics hit with the weight of decades behind them

you are never "on your own"
the universe around you and inside of you
all is one
love, forever...
This song closes the album in such an abrupt way, it seems like a way to tease the next album hehe
this whole album is a masterpiece! Thank you for blessing us with it!!
It's a break up album which really he should have released for himself...
The band adds a lot to it.
1. Modern life is rubbish
2. Blur self titled
3. The Balled of Darren
4.13
5.The Great Escape
6.Parklife
7.Leisure
8.Magic Whip
9.Think Tank
One of their best. On par with anything they put out in the past. I wish they played it during their recent gigs.
Its actually an unplayable song.
They did play it to smaller crowd in hammersmith
Excellent ending to such a beautiful album!

Me, I farted and had another HobNob
Another masterpiece for the long list of Blur's gems
"This is me" moment for Blur on this album. Reminds me "Battery in you Leg" from Think Tank.
THIS❤
Absolutely love BIYL but feel like it got no recognition.
Opening guitar chords from Space Oddity and very Bowie vocals from Damon., especially at 2:11. Much respect.
I LOVE THIS WHOLE ALBUM THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BLESSING US W THIS 🙏🙏🙏
"Something so momentary that you can only be it" - man, this hits hard. Thanks Blur.
So beautiful. Thank you Blur.
This is right up there with Tender. Both are such beautiful songs.
Agree Stephanie 👍
You must be around my age
Whole album is amazing but this is by far the best track of the album for me! Love it 😊
Ringrazio i Blur per aver pubblicato il nuovo album.....ma signori miei "The Heights" non si riesce a non piangere....testo e musica magnifici
BLUR HAS MY HEART FOREVER 💙💙
Best song on the album, top 15 blur songs easily
When those drums kick in at 1:19 - effing amazing! Turn it up loud!
Lost in the depths of this soul-stirring melody
One of the best songs on the album IMO ..
There are some beautiful songs, and then eternal songs. Thanx Blur, you did it again. Blur forever!!!
How dare you break my heart over and over again 😭 This song is perfection! Thank you! 🫶🏻

ESTOY LLORANDO MUY FUERTE 😭😭😭
This is the most The Verve style song Blur ever released!
Yeah, those strings, the vocals
Verve discography is like One verse of this song
I only realised this after seeing this comment
check Black Book, it was actually produced by long time The Verve producer, you might find what you're looking for in there... because I cant hear McCabes guitar in here, just Coxon's signatures all over the place... with a bit of Alex's who wont remember me of Simon...
I start crying as soon as I hear the opening chords to this song now. This is one of my all-time fave Blur songs now, so much heart.
This is very special, a band in their 50s should not be making music this good but I'm glad they are
The beauty of this is overwhelming. Last night was on my own and really felt that.
What a band ❤
Fantastic band great songs amazing work ❤
Blur Forever ❤
This song actually frightens me.
The entire album pulled some parts of me onto the shore.. i need rest.
It is an emotionally draining record to listen to
THIS IS ART
The way the song just ends, like death hitting you, is particularly profound.
Gracias Blur por este disco y por venir a la Argentina!!!
pero no la tocaron en argentina :O
Thank God for Blur's music.
LOVE this song...but still wished it was a bit longer. Could do with one more verse and chorus
This is just such a beautiful song
I LOVE BLUR!!! ✨

Thanks Blur for Classic Adventure in time I'll be Vinyl on Repeat ❤😂
We're a flash in the pan but we can feel it big time whilst we experience it! ❤

Sounds like the spring time of life. Thanks, guys. Love you.
