The crazy thing is according to Jimmy Jam himself, the main keyboard parts on this recording are what he actually played when he was writing 'Escapade' alongside Terry Lewis and JJ. He said he intended to go back and clean it up later, but never did; he just added some additional keyboard parts to fatten the track up even more. In fact, if you listen closely, you can here a few keyboard flubs here and there. But its cool, just adds a little extra grease to the dish. Geniuses do ish like that. #respect
As I was walkin' by Saw you standin' there with a smile Lookin' shy, you caught my eye Thought you'd want to hang for a while Well I'd like to be with you And you know it's Friday too I hope you can find the time This weekend to relax and unwind My mind's tired I've worked so hard all week Cashed my check I'm ready to go I promise you I'll show you such a good time Come on baby, let's get away Let's save our troubles for another day Come go with me, we've got it made Let me take you on an escapade (let's go) Escapade We'll have a good time Escapade Leave your worries behind Escapade Well you could be mine Escapade An escapade So don't hold back Just have a good time, yeah yeah We'll make the rules up as we go along And break them all if we're not havin' fun Come on baby…
Hi there! Do you have a lossless version of this instrumental? If so, could you upload it it to a file host such as Google Drive for people to download? Thanks!

I love those occasional 16th notes in the bass line, it's slick
3:36 best part of the song to me
Janet Jackson's "Escapade" Sounds Dope With & Without The Lyrics!
No Question!
Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are an American treasure.
Jam and Lewis got the midas touch. How many hits they made was unreal.
89 - 1990
I remember this being on the b-side of the single but the intro was missing. This is cool! Jam on!
What's interesting to me is how upbeat and dynamic the music sounds while having hardly any bass content.
As I was walkin' by
Saw you standin' there with a smile
Lookin' shy, you caught my eye
Thought you'd want to hang for a while
Well I'd like to be with you
And you know it's Friday too
I hope you can find the time
This weekend to relax and unwind
My mind's tired
I've worked so hard all week
Cashed my check
I'm ready to go
I promise you
I'll show you such a good time
Come on baby, let's get away
Let's save our troubles for another day
Come go with me, we've got it made
Let me take you on an escapade (let's go)
Escapade
We'll have a good time
Escapade
Leave your worries behind
Escapade
Well you could be mine
Escapade
An escapade
So don't hold back
Just have a good time, yeah yeah
We'll make the rules up as we go along
And break them all if we're not havin' fun
Come on baby…

It's probably to smoothly transition the songs
