The word 'idol' refers to materialistic pursuits such as wealth, power, sex, fornication, greed etc which are seen as false gods compared to the real one spiritual God who when our soul merges with will give the wealth of all wealth, the pleasure of all pleasures etc.
Yes, the idols don't have any power. But the demons and demon possessed people shown on the computer, smartphone, laptop, tv etc. screens can use their eyes and their songs to do strange mind control and motion control effects. Demons can come through the veil with these demon enchanted idols. Supposedly the demons can hear and see people through the screens by scrying but the demons might be lying about that.
Literalists. Need to understand rules of interpretation of scripture such as figurative speech, allegory, metaphor, choice between materialism & spiritualism, correct concept of God as supreme soul everywhere, manifestation of God, invocation of the cosmic energy etc , symbolism etc which are not found in the Semitic scriptures.

There has to be a balance. That what matters. And balance is not something that you can put in words. You feel it.
