We beat covid, we are still recovering.. learning the lesson, but getting better.
I live in Jakarta and Perth. Mostly in Perth with my husband. But i am still Indonesian citizen. I love my Indonesia. Thank you for your reaction ❤
As an American who had been to Indonesia...
Just do it! It will be the experience of a life time just like it was for my mother and I. My best friend moved there after traveling around for a few years. Hearing him talk about it i knew i had to go. I do recommend staying for as long as you can. The airfare will be more than the cost of staying there for a whole month. You can rent a fully furnished apartment for a month there for less than 2 nights at a hotel here in the states. Most of your meals (total for two people) will be less than $5 unless you go to a gourmet restaurant in a city, then it might be as high as $20. We took a luxury shuttle from Jakarta to Bandung (2.5 hour ride) for $10 per person. Plane ticket from Jakarta to Bali was $35 ($50 without discount fare). Stayed at a 5 star that looks like a Renaissance castle in Bandung for $45 per night (but you could stay at a small hotel for $12). Stayed at a 4 star hotel in Bali literally ON Kuta beach for $25 per night. It was awesome going down to buffet breakfast and eating with beach air on your face and the sound of the waves right in front you from our table.
All that is just to say it's far more affordable than you can imagine.
The real experience is just wandering around. Going to the malls, little family owned shops. Going to the beach or a cafe in the old parts of town. Visiting GWK is a MUST... but when we would just go for a walk to see the neighborhoods, every single time my mom stopped to rest her knees she ended up getting into a conversation with a local who genuinely wanted to exchange experienced and culture. You could easily make more me friends in one day in Bali, or Bandung, or Yogyakarta, or Palembang, or anywhere in Sulawesi or Borneo than you would in an entire year here in the states!
We miss it so much we are going back next year and my mother is pretty sure she'll never come back... and neither will I. 😂
Oh, and literally EVERYTHING you eat from anywhere, whether it be local Indonesian (which is actually multiple cuisines such as Sundanese, etc.) or any world cuisine (French, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, you name it) it will all be freaking delicious! We were there for 6 weeks and never had even a mediocre meal.
We definitely hope to someday. This all sounds amazing. We are in over our heads in student debt and other debt at the moment. No fault but our own, but we really are working hard to get out before we can do something like this. Not to mention our car is not the greatest. A lot we need to focus on financially before we can travel. Once we can Indonesia is at the top of our list 💚

Really? When we went it was $600 per ticket (from Missouri). It was at the trailing end of COVID (Feb 2022), though, and a lot has changed since then. 😕
(Edit: Just did a quick check and if you choose off peak days to fly it's around $1200 per person round trip, so same as we paid, but that is still a lot of money. That's why I said you'll spend less for the entire month staying there in luxury than you will for the plane tickets. 😅 )
Hopefully your hard work on RUclips will help you be able to catch up on your debts and start saving up for travel adventures. Seeing the world is a real life changer, in a good way. Beat of luck to you both. You've got one more fan. 😁
@@RNTVIt's crazy to hear "student debt" we don't have that here in Indonesia. We have free education bill (government school), except university (still very cheap), free medical bill. Basically education and healthcare are free of charge here.

That mid - final scene (inspired from "Money Heist) maybe represented the Red blood cell defending body from "outrage" White blood cell (common happened when someone infect covid19), or another prespective, can be seen when Mother Nature (our land) struggle during pandemic when some (or maybe more) bad people tried to make lot of money during the pandemic situation.
Its all depend from your pov.
but after all, in the end, the Mother (our Nation) can be survive & rise again :)
and the Gold I think it represents how much money is involved whenever someone got sick. Hospital bills, Vaccines, Covid Tests, ICU or isolations.
Meanwhile the REWIND videos always starring by many famous content creators and about things that has gone viral in that year. If you realize, the songs are also songs which are popular that year (if I am not mistaken). Popular TV shows, like Master Chef, K-pop, Tik Tok dance moves, etc. What's good about it - they make it as a story. In this case, the mother got laid off from her job, infected with Covid and too stressed about how to tell her son who likes to play on the internet, which cost a lot, and when she falls sick , she cannot afford the hospital bills. Corruptions, people take advantage of other people's struggles. But in faith and prayers, we fought together and survived the struggles. Motherland is happy. We all learned the hard way.

There is a very Deep Messages...a Lot of it, Describes How Cheerfull, Happy and Fun We are Indonesian, But there is always something that tryin to knocked down our motherland, make us torned apart, and how the wealth of the motherland was confiscated in various ways by foreign countries, the beautiful thing is...even our motherland is dying...mother nature always brought us together again, because our motherland concept is "Even though we consist of various tribes, cultures, languages, religions, genetics, ethnicities... we are still one nation, namely Indonesia, we should be stronger than other countries with this diversity." so guys....whatever ethnic you are as long as you are Indonesian...Lets Holding hand and faced all of the crisis together....Lets show The World How Strong we are, and How Beautifull we are!!
