- Hello there sonic fans, if you already played Cross Console Clash but wanted to play as Sonic and Tails instead. Here it is.
You can now play as them in this reskin.
Just Download the file below and make another copy of the original funk mix dx because it will replace the cross console clash song.

it’s a shame the rings counter is tied to sonic’s sprite and not the UI because of how the graphics mod was set up, same with luigi and tails’ intro animations. you did a good job though
Yeah for Sonic, the jumping animation ruined the illusion of the ring counter being a UI because it also jumped and flipped. For BF in Dream Machine(SMB2) Video, the life counter on the side is fine since there was no movement.
maybe if you made the animations separate sprites instead of flipping sprites it would fix the issue
@@phanto-64 I can't separate it cause I don't know how to code to add another element in the game, and the flipping is already in the code of the song.

Love how sonic and mario genuinely look like they're enemies, and then luigi and tails are just jamming
Back when Nintendo and Sega were console rivals.
I feel like playing as Sonic could potentially be a harder mode for the game where once you get a miss with rings you lose all of them and if you miss again then you die instead of surviving off of power-ups.
It would basically be only 1 miss allowed instead of 2.

The intro animation for Tails and Luigi is really nice, and fits quite well to the pair's personalities, as both of them are usually both kind and outgoing.
fun fact: in earlier builds of sonic 2 before it was released, tails would make your rings explode if he took damage
i believe thats where dummy rings came from

This is literally how it should have been i mean in majority of times sonic was the only one able to defeat Super Mario Bros in 90's and he is still unbeatable. Specially in music.
That makes literally no sense, it's not a battle of popularity. It's a rival battle.
That's exactly why it's interchangeable, it doesn't matter who's on which side because Sonic and Mario were constantly trying to 1 up each other in the 90s

If there's a sonic version of the mod, I bet this song would also be in it just like this. Idk why so many people said they wanna play as sonic during this song in super mario bros funk mix dx. It's a MARIO mod, not a sonic mod. Sonic can make a cameo in it but it doesnt make sense to play as him in a mario centered mod.
Personally I liked sonic more than tails but Mario is alright to me.

It would've been better if you had a shield. 1 miss you lose it. Another you lose rings. You get them back with monitors.
This is great, but instead of collecting 2 rings, the second one should be a shield monitor. It would make more sense considering that if sonic really got hit he would lose all his rings.
Now I would play this
Mechanic idea: ring notes are strewn throughout the chart, separate of normal notes. Hitting them will increment your ring counter. If you miss a note, your ring counter drops to 0 and a maximum of 30 rings scatter about the screen (less than 30 if you don’t have 30 or more rings). You can mash space to collect a few of the scattered rings. If you miss a note with 0 rings, you die. Tails has a separate ring counter from Sonic, but dying as either of them will result in a game over.
Sonic starts out happy to see a new friend, willing to give the mustachioed plumber a tour of the new age of gaming. Mario, however, is mad at him for stealing his spotlight (unbeknownst to Sonic). Throughout the song, Sonic gets angrier at Mario. Tails and Luigi attempt to calm the recently realized retro rivals down after they realize what’s going on.

Imagine a mario anim so when you miss you turn into normal and small mario
And then there are mushrooms that make you big again
And they only appear on deathmatch so basically mario anim is just a hard mode anim

I'm suggesting here,but it would really sell the Sonic vibe if the rings would come faster in the song and they would appear more often. Also you should fix the entering animations for Tails and luigi
The rings are just changed image of the mario powerups, I didn't put them manually.
I don't know how, I'm not a coder. It's also just replaced image of tails to be luigi and vice versa.

I’ll be honest I’ve played a lot of mario games and sonic games and I find sonics stages and gameplay to be better… they feel bigger and have more detail. I think it’s mostly just because of how the game plays tbh XD
My thoughts exactly. Tbh mario kart and mario 64 just cant be beat by anything sonic has. But sonic has very entertaining lore and story.
I will say that the older games like sonic to sonic 3 have amazing graphics and gameplay
