This was the van recalled because the rear axle randomly snaps and both rear wheels go flying off.

We have a 03 windstar, perfect car for a family of 6! It even has a vhs player 😆.

Crazy how you don’t see the newer ones on the road but, the older ones are still barely pushing along. 🚐 😐

Probably because the newer ones had a bunch of recalls.

My 2003 Windstar I drove for over 8 year and it had 294,000+ mile on it, it ran like new and still will start and purrs like a kitten. My nephew can't believe how good it was and on top of that it is an upstate NY vehicle. Just had to replace it last month. I would have gotten 300K and most likely 400K easily the way she ran but a speeding woman on a revoked license on her phone drifted off the road and smacked our van while we were in a driveway at an estimated speed at 65-70MPH. Totaled it. She got arrested and we are getting reimbursed for the van from her husbands insurance once the title to the van gets to them. Just $50 less than we paid for it 8 years ago but that van doesn't owe us a thing and also survived 1/2 a tree falling on it. Tree fell on it and got the windshield and front of it, and it got side smacked on the front end. I don't like fords and this was my only one of 35 years of driving but if I found another like this I might consider another one. I'm used to it, know them and I could do more with it than the Trailblazer I now have.

My grandma had one back in '06-'09. We drove to DC to see Obama's inauguration in it but after that, it was pure trouble. Hell, the speedometer quit working on the way. Then her heater went, we also had paint quality issues too. She eventually got an '02 Oldsmobile Bravada.

Aside from the rear axle, and some body integrity problems these were worthwhile vans. I got 25 miles to the gallon with one of these pulling a pop up camper. The 3.8 L Essex V6 had 200 hp and could go 400 miles on a tank of gas. Unlike the minivans today this one had room and lots of it. It fit seven people easily, and there was ample headroom, unlike the defunct Dodge grand Caravan that was discontinued in 2020. You had to duck to get into that.

Mine did have a lot of room in it. I've transported riding lawnmowers in, a washer and dryer at the same, snow blowers, countless cords of wood and bails of hay. I treated it like a truck.

@@malcomermanson6592 lmao my mom would be able to agree with that. She had a 01 windstar se and she loved it until recalls and issues with the van started rearing its ugly head in money and time. Right when the recession hit too so she was strapped for cash and had to pay for rentals while her rear axle was replaced by ford. she sold it in 2012 after she bought a dodge avenger.
