When Gene Siskel does that imitation of Sarah Jessica Parker's nervous laughter, and says that's the only thing she has going..... That brought giggles boiled straight in the center on my being.
When I was a kid I knew a couple people who recorded nearly everything they liked. I used to think it was strange. Now I say, bless their OCD little hearts! Lol
He also made The fugitive, a phenomenal movie. Man what happened to him. He was an amazing director, Abowe the Law, Under siege, Code of silence, The package, Chain Reaction, A perfect murder, Holes and even The guardian was decent and has the best performance of Ashton Kutcher career
Boy, were they wrong about Code of Silence being a launching pad for good Chuck Norris films. In fact, it was Silence that was the last decent action flick Chuck starred in. His next film was Firewalker for the good folks at Cannon Films. Chuck's relationship with Cannon was the death nail in his film career and it led him to television.
@@acholl980 yeah, before Andy Davis became a director, he was the D.P. on two of my favorite films...Over the Edge & Angel! Sad that I don't see him working much anymore!
They liked Code of Silence and it's a shock cause it is a pretty unremarkable movie in my opinion. About Gotcha! Roger is like they should done the movie from the female spy's point of view, she was more interesting. No she was interesting cause we knew little about her and it made her mysterios. The concept is this young man thrown into a foreign situation where he meets a mysterious woman where she uses him. In many ways that's a young man fantasy to be thrown into the World of spies.
babybird871 it was no Fugitive, though. It was so average. Like nothing stood out. Average and common. Most episodes of Law & Order are more complex and better fleshed out. What a boring and unremarkable script.
So what ? He´s as good as an actor as Clint Eastwood ever was. He was also compared to Steve McQueen who also never was a great actor. Sly Stallone said it better. He could never do what Brando did, but Dustin Hoffman could´ve never played Rambo. Also, Billy Friedkin said of McQueen (about Sorcerer) that the most beautiful shot of the most beautiful jungle in the world couldn´t compare to a shot of Steve McQueen´s face. He was a great actor in the sense that he didn´t have to talk to show what he felt. Every actor brings something different to the table.
Their criticism of Rustlers' Rhapsody is just stupid. They say they didn't follow their own idea of Rex being flawed, but they did exactly that! (Spoilers alert) E.g., turns out he isn't a confident heterosexual, then he threatens to shoot the sheep herder's wife in the shoulder, and finally, he shoots Bob Barber in the head! Rustlers' Rhapsody is a fantastic movie, very funny.
I never liked these critics. I don't need critics to recommend what I should or shouldn't watch. Jeff Kanew also did Revenge of the Nerds which also starred Anthony Edwards as Gilbert Lowe.
Some critics are pretentious gas bags and some are not. These two were great because they were not condescending and made movie criticism interesting and fun to watch. I didn't rely on them for what movies I watched I watched them because they were great television.
Chuck norris was an played the role in walker Texas ranger on television and I think his character was better then any of the action star type parts he took in films.he not bad in code of silence but it is just to much of a formula movie with not much creativity to the plot and storyline/script....
Siskel & Ebert always sucked. I always hated the movies they loved and I loved the movies they hated. They were wrong again - Rustlers Rhapsody was frikkin hilarious.
Actually they were great movie reviewer’s you just have to play the opposite game. If they liked it, I didn’t bother with it. If they paned it, I really want to see it.

So true!
Always loved in the opening credits Roger going to the vending machine and getting not candy or chips, but a reporter's notepad.
Love this show! A classic. Cult following! Cure and funny.

20:37 The reviews
I'm glad that Roger and Gene seem to implicitly like Cyndi Lauper and are disappointed the film has nothing to do with her
Love the sound of vhs tapes melting
Best Chuck Norris film by far. Andrew Davis is amazing, I mean he made Steven Seagal look good in Above the Law/Nico.
And the best one he directed was The Fugitive. The Package is also good.
Made Seagal look good twice actually; once in Above the Law (1988), and again in Under Siege (1992).
I like code of silence & Above the law
He also made The fugitive, a phenomenal movie. Man what happened to him. He was an amazing director, Abowe the Law, Under siege, Code of silence, The package, Chain Reaction, A perfect murder, Holes and even The guardian was decent and has the best performance of Ashton Kutcher career
I actually enjoyed watching their review of Code of Silence. I loved watching both Code of Silence and Above the Law.
21:20 I think the movie Gene was thinking was The Grey Fox. Basically, a lost film, except for a few VHS tapes.
The Grey Fox is excellent and sadly forgotten
I miss 85...
thanks for the upload
I love ‘GJWTHF’!
4:37 Ebert 😂😂😂
Chuck Norris doesn't duck under overpasses, overpasses jump up for Chuck Norris!
Hey, I saw this movie (GJWTHF) in 1985 with my best friend . . . I was fourteen. I thought it was real good and I still think it is good!!
Girls Just Want to Have Fun is wonderful, actually.
Holy shit! "Code of Silence" got 2 thumbs up???
They were biased towards movies set in Chicago since that’s their town.

It´s a good movie.

Actually CoS was the launching pad for Andrew Davis' directing career, piloting Steven Segal's career and making a name for himself in the 90s.
@@acholl980 yeah, before Andy Davis became a director, he was the D.P. on two of my favorite films...Over the Edge & Angel! Sad that I don't see him working much anymore!
They might not be great, but they are great. Invasion USA and The Delta Force are a whole lot of fun.
Code of Silence & Lone Wolf Mcquade are easily Chuck Norris best movies.
RETURN OF THE DRAGON THE DELTA FORCE
They liked Code of Silence and it's a shock cause it is a pretty unremarkable movie in my opinion.

Gotcha is Goose's origin story 😏
Wow they really compared Chuck Norris to Clint Eastwood lol

15:35 "I don't wanna sound like a Feminist" - Ebert.
Nobody does Roger
Spoilers on Gotcha Roger!!! Geez!! ☺️
So, they liked the Chuck Norris movie and didn't like Rustler's Rhapsody? WTF?
To be fair it was a pretty great movie. Probably the only one where he had a decent director. That probably helped.
Rustler's Rhapsody has lasted. These two no. Amazing how often they got it wrong.
Helen Hunt is way too old playing a H S girl in GJWTHF
Yeah, and she was trying too hard to act like a giggly teen. Really annoyed me.
“I don’t want to sound like a feminist.”
HORRIBLE Rustler's Rhapsody review; one of the top 10 movies of all time. S&E: FAIL.
Terrible review and clearly not factual. Rustlers' Rhapsody is on my list of perfect movies.

Rustler’s Rhapsody is not a good movie. S & E are right.
Completely disagree.
now that's shit quality

I hope your tastes in films have gotten better as you have grown up. If you have grown up.
Yeah well, that's just your opinion man....and you suck.
@Jason Thompson I agree.

The quality of this upload is so bad, I simply refused to watch it.
