It’s really common with MAC lipsticks, and chocolate!
Bloom isn’t mild, it’s not dangerous.
It’s from the solidification of some oils and waxes in the product.
It’s something that you can just gently wipe off the outside if it bothers you.

I picked up the last Item Beauty blush at my local Sephora $6, fell in love and immediately went to the brand’s website to buy every shade at 40% off! So glad I was able to grab them before the brand’s completely gone.
I picked up the in my element palette and got an eyeliner in a box - I have no interest in the tiktokker but whoever made the color and formula choices there was very gifted. Great little wooden eyeliner pencil, none of this destroy-my-sharpener plastic, and omg the color story in the palette changed the way I looked at color. I hope that team can rebrand or something, they should just Collab with celebs, but keep the product clearly branded as a consistent brand, like Lauren and oden's eye.
@Montana Nerd I did a bit o' sleuthing and item was put out by incubator Madeby, which is under the parent company of Ipsy, BFA. They also make Tresluce and Complex Culture. I guess keep an eye on any new brands they put out because they might use the same labs.
So far I've tried the mascara, brow pencils, concealer, & in my element palette. I love everything sm that I've repurchased the mascara twice & I'm sad the brand is being phased out! *oh & the lip oil! Repurchased it was so good!

I love how you can open the flap of the lorac palette and easily take out the eyeshadows to put in a smaller palette
Sometimes companies are changing their packaging so they will sell off what they have through Boxy Charm. I used to buy through there but was buying too much stuff!😂
Everyone keeps commenting that they find all these great makeup products at their local TJ Maxx. My local TJ Maxx is a glorified garage sale. It’s a great place to pick up lotions and candles, but the make up section is a big pass for me.

What a pity the Rose Inc. lipsticks were icky because the second one in particular really suited you. Luckily magic brownie turned out to be amazing too. Will look forward to the monochromatic look.
Fenty Wattabrat is my favorite glittery highlight/blush topper. So good! Ipsy has Fenty highlighters on sale all the time. I’ve seen trophy wife, how many carats & a few others pop up from time to time. As a person who paid full price for Wattabrat, I try to grab all the sale ones I can lol!😅
I got that lorac palette at tjmax the other day, $12 and it's really good! I needed a neutral palette so it was a steal

@Lesley Egbert Northeast and in a major city. Our stores usually do have high-end in fits and spurts (I now have a stupid love of Serge Lutens mascara), but I think brands are just releasing a lot of inventory.

I love the formula of the Rose Inc chubby pencils. If you blot it on your lips, it blurs! But yes the component caused the formula to bloom, so they're looking for a new component. IDK if the new lipsticks are the same component.
What do you mean by ‘bloom’?
"Wax bloom is a natural oxidation process of wax-based materials, just like rust is an oxidation of iron. It appears as a cloudy white film over a drawing or color lay down. If you are plagued with wax bloom, simply wipe your drawing with a clean, dry cloth and spray it with a final fixative to seal out air."
Instead of "drawing", you can fill in "makeup". Wax bloom is not mold.
Dude we are going exactly the same when it comes to the process of buying makeup. I also have been getting most of my makeup from their sales since they started and it’s almost dangerously good deals!
I personally love this look. It's still a good daytime look and even easier to take to nighttime. It's not technically monochromatic but close and you absolutely rock it!
I'm actually disappointed that Item Beauty seems to be fading out. I got their moisturizers from the Boxy sale and they're very nice, particularly the Light Sauce. I got a concealer and it was the wrong shade but the coverage was nice. Quality was good and price is right, sad if they don't make it.
I can't believe I never saw that fenty beauty highlighter. I definitely would've picked that up as a glowy blush. I canceled my boxycharm subscription last year but those discounted prices on some of the stuff was really a steal! I kinda miss it!

I just got a Pat McGrath Labs face palette from Ipsy for $18! It’s fantastic & I’m in love with it. (Retail was $62) Surprisingly I am obsessed with every Item beauty product I’ve tried. I really hope she doesn’t go out of business! The blush, bronzer, lip products & the concealer are all awesome.

I got the glam bag+ for years but now I skip each month and keep it for the pop up/add-on shops. I’ve gotten SO many AMAZING deals that way. Just got 2 lights lacquer polishes && a full sized forget the filler gloss for $9 each. Both things I’ve wanted to try. It’s a GREAT way to get skincare far nicer than I may get myself otherwise which I did on this most recently pop-up where you got this stuff. I’ve got tatcha, glow recipe, Kate Somerville, etc. I’d almost rather spend my $27 that way.
I love Ruby Richez, I also bought it from Boxycharm. I’ve been waiting to add it to my collection. I really like all of Fenty’s highlighters/blushes, they are very versatile and can be used in multiple ways.
I found that Lorac palette at TJmaxx for $13 as well recently. It's been my everyday palette for a Neutral eye for work.

That is exactly why I’ve been hesitant to pick up the new Tower 28 release! I’m sure the formula will be beautiful but it seems really warm and I prefer a neutral bronzer (or something peachy) or a true cool contour. I do like the new Milk Makeup one tho!
I get rid of lipsticks that smell like crayons, play-doh, car exhaust or fuel, or basically anything that smells weird. That smell right under my noise, on top of tasting it, wouldn't work for me. The other one I go by is feel. Huda has a lip balm that's amazing when it's new. When it goes off, it burns the hell out of my lips to the point I've got small scars where it scabbed up. In case it was a fluke, I bought another when it went on sale, but same thing. In the beginning my lips loved it. At some point it became caustic. The smell never changed, but scent was most people's complaint about it on Sephora.

I have two item beauty blushes that I got for about 7 dollars at Sephora and I love them.
I’ve found LYS Serum foundation goes on better with a brush or fingers. It settles so beautifully though. I have LN6 which seems to be waaaaay too warm for me once it settles. Hoping to pick up the LN3 now I have seen it on you. Would be interested to know if it oxidised? LN6 does a little.
Dry sponge works best for me. It gets about 1 shade darker when dry. It doesn't turn orange, just a bit darker, so it's a summer foundation for me. For reference, I have dry mature skin with very cool and red undertones, so orange would be very noticeable if it changed tones. If I had to recommend it to anyone, I'd say get it 1 shade lighter than you think you'll need.

I really like the Keys blush. I have Awakened and its just a nice peachy shade . I hadn't heard of the color you tried as Ulta (where I got mine) only has 4 of the colors. I went to their actual site and pleasantly surprised to learn there like 3 other colors. The illuminating primer is also really nice.
I just went back to find a YT video on the fairytale forest Lorac palette and was PUMPED to find a thorough video from you. I could use a neutral palette w/ some beautiful/interesting shimmers so I’d actually use it. That’s one thing I want @ 21DOB
Some of the shimmers in that palette are smooth and some are so sparkly and gorgeous ✨️ I think you will really enjoy it
@@xtyrasage thanks babe. I was going through and didn’t see much but for some reason that sparked my interest, particularly after I saw Lauren’s review. I think I’m gonna get it tomorrow!! It’s crazy I have like 40 palettes and one neutral one that a lot of shades fell out (poor magnetic pans) or broke. It looks beautiful with the rly flaky shimmers and there’s a couple pops of color.

I loveeee getting things from Ipsy sales. Sometimes you have to be selective because the sale prices aren’t that great, but other times they have amazing deals. I got an LYS cream blush recently!!

I have one of the good TJMaxx stores in my area. It's hit or miss but when I score I score big. I've found Estee Lauder foundation, Too Faced mascara, Pat McGrath eyeshadow,...... I will say though if it wasn't in an area that I frequently pass through I would make the special trip, because you sometimes you do come out empty handed.

I have a Rose Inc lipstick that I got in a Sephora lipstick package sometime last year. I'm glad you said crayon smell. I couldn't think of what it smelled like, but that's it. The color is nice. It doesn't have the white stuff around it like yours did, but I wouldn't purchase it separately.

Sooo glad I watched this video! I shopped the sale too. I was eyeing the Rose Inc lipstick in Rosie's set because the color is just my style, but I'm glad I didn't buy it. I did get the Item Beauty blush but in a different color. If you haven't already, you should try the PYT powder blushes! They might still be on Boxycharm and I feel like you'd love it. It's a light, buildable formula and so easy to throw on.

I'm going back and forth on Boxycharm. I was getting it during pandemic, it was fun, but I also got so many products I didn't care about, it was ridiculous. I did enjoy the Pop ups the most to be honest...I'm tempted to try them again, now that they paired up with IPSY (I was also signed up at one point). But I don't know if it's worth it!! Ugh
You can shop still from their pop up shop without subscribing again. I have been buying from boxycharm the past 2 years after canceling my membership.

As for TJMaxx issues, I've seen some recent discussion about this on other sites. It seems the lack of good makeup stock in these stores is maybe a West Coast thing? I'm in the Seattle area and there's been nothing decent in my local stores since the pandemic hit.

I bought the “lys” foundation from Sephora last year, and I love it! I think the problem might be your primer. Since purchasing the foundation, I purchased the concealer off Poshmark, and I love it! Boxycharm sent the “lys” primer, face brushes, and liquid highlight in the past year as well along with the serum, and I am hooked!! Xoxo

I dropped boxy while we see what happens, I'll rely on the CVS deals to get drugstore products if I absolutely need something. I've got so much stuff now. I took a decade off most makeup, just wearing eyeliner & lippies, but got back into it. Boxy was a great way to build a collection very inexpensively, I did love drop shop. But, the merch that never did arrive, the infuriating service, & their extremely bad warehouse turned me off (how can their warehouse be so bad? Low low pay & understaffing is my guess). Also, to be fair, I also did overspend recently on a 5-month search for dupes for my old fave lippies, which, led to buying a lot of meh, but finally finding the actual lippies themselves, miraculously recontinued this month after 15 YEARS! so I did buy all three full price, something I have not done in many years, and realized I MUST STOP BUYING. If I can find a drugstore dupe for bare minerals complexion rescue, I will be a happy happy girl. Dr dray has me on the good, frugal skincare, I am all set to ease into routine, affordable beauty shopping for awhile.

THANK YOU for the correct pronunciation of Broad. My eye has been twitching every time I hear someone say it wrong. I mean, I get it. It's a pretty niche thing to notice that the shades are all LA area museums and THEN to know the way the museum is said, so I totally don't expect people to know it. But lol it was still driving me nuts hearing people mis-pronounce Broad.

I had that same think happen to a lippie I ordered from Colourpop. I sent them pictures. They responded with a big scientific explanation about why that happened and that it was safe. But they did give me a credit. I left it on the counter and when I looked at it the next day it was gone.
I had my eye on the Rose inc lip duo ar BC for a while but didnt. I experienced serious fomo. I feel better now. Lol. I got weird tasting lipsticks from Kaja and Ilia at BC drop shop as well.
That’s so strange that the rose inc looks like that! I’ve heard it on reviews but never seen it myself, but I got a shade in a holiday set…I was gonna get a new one but I def won’t on discount now🤣 they all have that weird botanical crayon smell

I got the rose inc lipsticks last year from Sephora in a rose inc gift set. Mine had that white staff and smell really bad. It wasn't even one year since it was launched when I got it and it already gone bad.
I bought the tower 28 mascara and I honestly don’t understand the hype…it doesn’t hold my eyelashes up…the best mascara in the U.S that I’ve tried that actually hold my straight thick eyelashes up is maybelline lash sensational
I wouldn't even try those rose inc. lipsticks again, just throw them away

“Clean” beauty brands…. Pass.
While often times 'clean' is capitalistic green washing, there ARE brands that take more care to have better formulations that are healthier. Makeup and especially hair care have tons of endocrine disruptors, allergens, etc that brands feel perfectly fine putting in their formulations because US regulatory entities are so archaic and not more 'up to speed' like Europe and Canada, (and in some cases) Japan or Korea (this is especially true when it comes to sunscreens). Being an educated buyer is about weeding out the green washing while still understanding science is a thing and most of these brands will put anything in a formulation because regulations are still so loose comparably. There's absolutely better, cleaner brands and formulas out there to use but we just have to take care to not be fooled by solely marketing.
You can either have preservatives, or you can have fungus and bacteria living in your makeup. There is no magical secret option 3 where you can have preservative-free, safe, not-disgusting makeup. Give me all the preservatives, please!
I agree. It's a cash grab. Everyone else can use the so-called clean makeup and pay the premium price for something that goes rancid just a few months later. It's a total scam and shameless cash grab.

I really love Lorac's eyeshadow formula but I really wish they would come out with a few palettes that were lighter, brighter and true cool toned colors for my cool, pale, pink undertones. All the palettes lean very dark and overwhelmingly warm.

I got the rose inc lip crayon from Sephora when it went on sale and it looked the same. And it smelled AWFUL. Which is unfortunate because Beam is the perfect color for me 😢 I’m keeping it just for reference so I can find the same color in a better formula.
How does the Keys blush compare to the elf putty blush?
I feel like the Keys blush is more of a translucent gel look and the elf putty don’t have that same sheer quality or dew!

The lip colors that you were trying from Rose Inc.… Please throw them in the trash! The white on there could be separation, but it could also be mold, and especially with the smell that you were describing, that is a clear sign that it has gone bad.

Maybe the lipsticks are heat spoilt?? You know, like chocolate that's in 'only just' too high a temp and gets that pale look over it??? It's still edible, but just doesn't look as nice....??
