Well, you jumped right in the deep end, didn't you?! Some brief background: Diana was abused and eventually abandoned by her birth parents. She was found with a broken collarbone and various speech deficits that may have been a result of the abuse. She was placed in an orphanage. One of the staff, at the urging of her own daughter, adopted her. As part of Diana’s recovery, her therapists suggested singing lessons. Her teachers quickly discovered that she had an extraordinary voice, and she began singing in shows and children’s festivals at every opportunity. Her big coming out took place when she was 14, and performed on Ты супер (“You’re Super”), a Russian show similar to The Voice, but restricted to orphans and children with disabilities. She won the show that year, and then again the following year when they held a series just for previous winners. Those performances have been viewed tens of millions of times, for good reason: She has a powerful, haunting voice, and her stage presence is riveting. When performing, she appears completely fearless. Diana is 18 now, and is an emerging star in Russia and worldwide. Great singers usually reach maturity in their late 30’s, so she is just at the beginning. If she is allowed to nurture her gift, I see no limit to her potential. She is often compared with Dimash Kudaibergen, the reigning king of Olympian vocals, but I see two important differences. The first is technical: Diana’s voice has overtones that make her sound as though she is harmonizing with herself. It is something that can be taught, but she came by it naturally. Second, and more important, is that as great as Dimash is, watching him feels a bit like watching the world’s best stunt-man do amazing tricks. With Diana, there are no tricks-she just reaches into you and takes your soul. There are three kinds of covers: 1) the artist tries to sound like the original; 2) the artist stays faithful to the original but tries to make it their own; 3) the artist takes the original idea and does something completely new with it. It's about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song.
There are a lot of good and even very good and bright performers in the world, and there are only a few unique and amazing (epic, I would say), and one of them is Diana, her unique and amazing voice (contralto is a rare voice in itself) with this fascinating timbre is a miracle!!! But she is not only a great singer and storyteller. She lives her songs and touches our hearts and souls. But also she looks beautiful and she is a humble, intelligent and hardworking young woman. She also gives charity concerts. She loves her family and her fans. They are 'Friends' to her and they are very supportive of her. Diana is grateful that they helped improve her home studio and also supported her future plans (first album). Her Russian Friends have chosen Diana as "National Treasure". I think, she is our “Earth Treasure”. The break of voice made Diana’s voice even darker and deeper. She has mastered this time very professionally and has worked hard to bring back the lost high notes and has expanded her vocal range, currently from C3-E6. This is one of Diana's top three performances. The first one is Rechenka, the second Wicked Game, both from the Russian TV show You Are Super in which they boost underprivileged but talented children.
I know we'll agree to disagree, but, for me, Diana's best performance is "Ornery Horses", "Rechenka" is second and third could be one of a myriad of others! But, that's how it should be, Diana doesn't do mediocre.

I appreciate that you recognized Diana's true talent. Yes, we can talk at length about her voice. But, her greatest talent is her otherworldly ability to impact the listener on an emotional level. When she performs a happy song, I'm happy. When she performs a sad song, I'm sad. When she performs a deep thoughtful song, I sit and think. It's uncanny. I've never experienced anyone like Diana.
@@hakatenele1075 I wish that I was a good writer. Then, maybe, I could express my true thoughts. I don't think that Diana sings perfectly. I just don't care about that. I am amazed by some sounds that she makes. They are gorgeous. When she makes some other sounds... well, I can understand the comments that some critics make. But, like I said, I don't care. Diana speaks to my heart. This is what I care about. I don't care if she sounds like a duck, or if she stands there and mimes. Discussions of tone and technique can be interesting, on a superficial level, but these things don't describe Diana.

I think she is utterly unique and an astonishing vocalist but, ultimately, that's not what moves me when I watch her perform.

IF you listen with your SOUL then Diana's soul speaks to your SOUL. And Yes, it is a REAL voice and Diana is real. IF you listen just with your ears but not soul you will hear nothing and look for gimmicks like most coaches that dont believe their ears thinking its not a true voice. Diana is a special child kissed by God with a very traumatic and tragic early years. Diana is a Russian singer, was left by her mum at the age of 3 and found almost frozen in the snow. Since then she has loving adopted family that saw her talent. You can hear her PAIN and her POWER. Understanding and appreciating and crying while she is performing means you have a higher level of Empathy and Spirituality as a human. Diana is a Queen of heart and Queen of goosebumps. I have watched Diana's performances for 5 years now, since she was 14. She never ceases to amaze me! Please react to Diana covering Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game", a song you are likely familiar with.
Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in seven billion.

Just subscribed, love to see new people discover Diana. A step back to when she was 14 and performed "Rechenka" on "You are Super", a show for disadvantaged children (she had a tragic early life as a child) is a must. I can definitely understand an appreciate where you are coming from there; I personally don't like to pause for comments because stopping the music disrupts my ability to become immersed in the evolution of emotions that the song is trying to represent, and it makes me feel like I'm placing more importance on my own commentary rather than enjoying and focusing on the emotions of the song and music, and actually prevents me from being able to provide a genuine emotional response to the music itself. So I don't pause and do try to keep my comments limited and spaced out enough during playback so as not to compete with any focal points of the song, but I will speak up and point out when something genuinely excites me or grabs my attention. Hello Jonathon. thank you for your fine reaction. Diana has a very rare voice. She is a contralto and she is also polyphonic, which means she can produce several tones at the same time. It makes her voice sound so full. Diana's background: Diana was born on May 31, 2003 in the Far East of Russia. She was severely abused as a small child and abandoned on the street by her birth mother in winter when she was only 3 years old with a broken collarbone. She was then taken to an orphanage where, after more than one year, she was adopted by Irina Ponik, a massage therapist. At the age of four and a half, Diana still could not speak properly. She also stuttered. Experts recommended that she take singing lessons to improve her general speaking and vocal skills. This is a new TV show in Russia. There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well known artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. The last TV show was on 20. November 2021. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won the overall competition of which Diana won 4 and took 2nd place once. She shocked the other singers with the first song. The Crow was her masterpiece in this competition, in my opinion. The judge who stands up is the great opera singer Yusif Eyvazov and the husband of Anna Netrebko, who is world famous. Well, you jumped right in the deep end, didn't you?! Some brief background:
Diana was abused and eventually abandoned by her birth parents. She was found with a broken collarbone and various speech deficits that may have been a result of the abuse. She was placed in an orphanage. One of the staff, at the urging of her own daughter, adopted her.
As part of Diana’s recovery, her therapists suggested singing lessons. Her teachers quickly discovered that she had an extraordinary voice, and she began singing in shows and children’s festivals at every opportunity. Her big coming out took place when she was 14, and performed on Ты супер (“You’re Super”), a Russian show similar to The Voice, but restricted to orphans and children with disabilities. She won the show that year, and then again the following year when they held a series just for previous winners. Those performances have been viewed tens of millions of times, for good reason: She has a powerful, haunting voice, and her stage presence is riveting. When performing, she appears completely fearless.
Diana is 18 now, and is an emerging star in Russia and worldwide. Great singers usually reach maturity in their late 30’s, so she is just at the beginning. If she is allowed to nurture her gift, I see no limit to her potential.
She is often compared with Dimash Kudaibergen, the reigning king of Olympian vocals, but I see two important differences. The first is technical: Diana’s voice has overtones that make her sound as though she is harmonizing with herself. It is something that can be taught, but she came by it naturally. Second, and more important, is that as great as Dimash is, watching him feels a bit like watching the world’s best stunt-man do amazing tricks. With Diana, there are no tricks-she just reaches into you and takes your soul.
There are three kinds of covers: 1) the artist tries to sound like the original; 2) the artist stays faithful to the original but tries to make it their own; 3) the artist takes the original idea and does something completely new with it. Diana never does the first two.

It's about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song.
There are a lot of good and even very good and bright performers in the world, and there are only a few unique and amazing (epic, I would say), and one of them is Diana, her unique and amazing voice (contralto is a rare voice in itself) with this fascinating timbre is a miracle!!! Diana, the unique singer and songwriter in Russia was born in May, 31. 2003 in the Far East of Russia. (www says she is between 1.66 -1.70m/ 5.5 - 5.7 ft tall.) She didn't have a happy start in life. The woman who gave birth to her had many pregnancies, only Diana survived... and she did not love her child, cruelly abused it and tried to drown it. The 3 year old child was found at a bus stop with a broken collarbone and taken to an orphanage. There she finally found love ... from Irina Ponik, a massagetherapist. Taking a young child into the family was not easy for Irina. Her son was already 20 years old, daughter Nastya 17 years... Now start all over again? Yes!!! Diana came to a poor but loving family when she was 5 years old.
Diana spoke badly, cried a lot and was still very scared but she all sing songs from cartoons. The doctor recommended singing lessons and so, the singing teacher Elena Kazantseva discovered Diana's talent. And all started...
During 2008 to 2012 Diana sang around 40 songs, including at competitions.
Her mother, Irina Ponik, turned her whole life inside out and started all over with a new motherhood and many new professions - seamstress, manager, vblogger… admirable. Everything that has to do with Diana's singing training, performances, competitions, looking for sponsors is organized and coordinated by her mother Irina Ponik. She took extra sewing courses too. Since then, she's been sewing all of Diana's stage costumes, because all of these things consume the family budget. She accompanies her daughter on trips and captures her life in photos and videos with the persistence of a visionary. It is admirable how she promotes her daughter's career, teaching her how to fly but makes sure that she is down to earth Remains.
Diana impressed with her talent in over 50 national and international competitions. Her confidence grew, her voice continued to develop ... until one day she was asked to compete in more distant competitions so that other children could have a chance to win.
In 2012, Irina's family moved to her hometown of Toglyatti, much closer to Moscow. Diana lost her fear that the woman who gave birth to her would kidnap her.
In 2017 Diana went to Moscow, at the Russian 'The Voice Kids'. Next day, a huge scandal broke out in social medias. A door had closed but a new door opened...
Diana entered another competition in 2018 and 2019 and won twice. That project is unique in the world, an international TV- competition: 'You are Super', especially for adopted and orphaned children.
The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to RUclips and soon Diana had millions of fans.
The project producers help the finalists to start their studies and promote their creativity. Diana won a scholarship and Igor Krutoy (Russian music titan, juror and sponsor) gave her a small apartment (37m²/ 398.26 ft²) in Moscow. There she lives in the small apartment with her mother and grandmother and was able to start her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy. (She died of Covid-19 in October 2020). Now she is taught by the great Alexandra Pismennaya, who was a student of Prof. Donskoy. Maestro Krutoy also introduced Diana to the excellent singer, songwriter and producer Brandon Stone. With Maria Tarasenko (songwriter), the trio created the 9 songs of Diana's first CD, released Dec. 2021 with great success. The album received gold in June 2022.

And when you hear her voice, you feel like she has wrapped you in a warm velvet blanket and served you a mug of hot, dark chocolate. Every song is a unique experience, it captivates you, you feel bound by magic. Diana doesn't just sing, she creates worlds... and goosebumps.
Diana has something primal, mystical, but also sensitive and sensual in her voice and she lives her songs. She also has a perfect pitch and her sense of rhythm was exceptional even as a little girl. Diana is a dramatic contralto, the rarest and lowest female voice type (her range C3-D7). Your voice has natural polyphonic overtones and sometimes specifically an undertone = subharmonic. You hear the voice an octave lower than Diana sings. Not everyone can hear that.
Undertone singing is a singing technique that belongs to the main category of overtone singing in which the vibration mode of the vocal cords is modulated to produce sounds that are below the singing tone.

But she is not only a great singer and storyteller. She lives her songs and touches our hearts and souls. But also she looks beautiful and she is a humble, intelligent and hardworking young woman. She also gives charity concerts. She loves her family and her fans. They are 'Friends' to her and they are very supportive of her. Diana is grateful that they helped improve her home studio and also supported her future plans (first album). Her Russian Friends have chosen Diana as "National Treasure". The break of voice made Diana’s voice even darker and deeper. She has mastered this time very professionally and has worked hard to bring back the lost high notes and has expanded her vocal range, currently from C3-E6. Her genres are folk-rock, folk-pop, jazz, soul, blues, soldier songs and Diana-stile… tradition meets modernity.
She loves to sing in French, but also sings in English, German, Arabic and Spanish... but only phonetically so far. She plays the piano and ukulele.
2020 Diana graduated from high school with honors as an external student a year earlier as “normal”, applied to music colleges and was rejected (examiners suspected she had a voice defect). But she is totally normal and healthy ... and now she is a student at the university, at the legendary Russian State Institute for Theater and Variety Arts (Juilliard similar to GITIS). In October 2021 Diana was invited to her first adult contest on Russian television 'The ShowMaskGoOn'. She won!!!

This is one of Diana's top three performances. The first one is Rechenka, the second Wicked Game, both from the Russian TV show You Are Super in which they boost underprivileged but talented children.
I know we'll agree to disagree, but, for me, Diana's best performance is "Ornery Horses", "Rechenka" is second and third could be one of a myriad of others! But, that's how it should be, Diana doesn't do mediocre.

I would highly recommend Dianna, ( i think is pronounced Dee-anna ), singing 'Rechenka', is in Russian but don't need lyrics to feel the emotions portrade in that performance. Thank you also for that awesome information; I think she's definitely the very first contralto voice I've ever had the opportunity to hear, and I can definitely hear the polyphonic overtone abilities; I think that is what makes her voice sound so well ranged and yet so well balanced at the same time, managing to hit higher tones while still retaining the lower tones to some degree. It's absolutely spellbinding!

I appreciate that you recognized Diana's true talent. Yes, we can talk at length about her voice. But, her greatest talent is her otherworldly ability to impact the listener on an emotional level. When she performs a happy song, I'm happy. When she performs a sad song, I'm sad. When she performs a deep thoughtful song, I sit and think. It's uncanny. I've never experienced anyone like Diana.

When she makes some other sounds... well, I can understand the comments that some critics make. But, like I said, I don't care. Diana speaks to my heart. This is what I care about.
I don't care if she sounds like a duck, or if she stands there and mimes. Discussions of tone and technique can be interesting, on a superficial level, but these things don't describe Diana.

I think she is utterly unique and an astonishing vocalist but, ultimately, that's not what moves me when I watch her perform.

Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in seven billion.

Большинство из нас настолько закоксованы и зашорены, что перестали чувствовать то, что нам даровано свыше. Мне теперь понятно, почему я так люблю просматривать реакции на творения Дианы. Эта девочка из сказки Александра Роу, творит чудеса. Она очень здорово умеет пробуждать в большинстве из нас то, о чём я говорил выше.

Большинство песен, тем не менее, со временем неизбежно стирались, таяли, почти исчезали. Лишь от самых лучших кое-что ещё осталось. Но вот эту версию песни Элвиса Пресли в исполнении Дианы Анкудиновой я сейчас прослушал, вероятно, раз в 500-й. Она не теряет свежести и не стирается. С Дианой Анкудиновой это не работает. Вроде бы миллион раз слушал Дернье Данс, первая песня Дианы с конкурса Ты Супер , но на удивление не устал от этого. Сохранилась энергетика, которую получаю каждый раз, когда слушаю Диану. Это конечно необычно и трудно объяснить.

Diana has a very rare voice. She is a contralto and she is also polyphonic, which means she can produce several tones at the same time. It makes her voice sound so full.
Diana's background: Diana was born on May 31, 2003 in the Far East of Russia. She was severely abused as a small child and abandoned on the street by her birth mother in winter when she was only 3 years old with a broken collarbone. She was then taken to an orphanage where, after more than one year, she was adopted by Irina Ponik, a massage therapist. At the age of four and a half, Diana still could not speak properly. She also stuttered. Experts recommended that she take singing lessons to improve her general speaking and vocal skills.
This is a new TV show in Russia. There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well known artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. The last TV show was on 20. November 2021. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won the overall competition of which Diana won 4 and took 2nd place once. She shocked the other singers with the first song. The Crow was her masterpiece in this competition, in my opinion. The judge who stands up is the great opera singer Yusif Eyvazov and the husband of Anna Netrebko, who is world famous. He's very impressed.
