It was awesome having you guys in Saint Louis, ❤ My Dad got a kick out of it all and the money will no doubt help my step mom with her cancer treatment. ❤
The story I got from a family friend who worked in a Mopar assembly plant is the " Midnight Special " was a phrase used for family and friends orders. They got upgrades that were not on the assembly ticket.
Like I always say. Dennis is an actual stand up guy. I would bet nothing changes even if the camera are off. Anyone can fake it, but not for this many years, that his true colors.
Did you notice he backed out and didn’t help when they were loading the 3 wheelers? His back is more important and can’t get injured but everyone else’s can.
Chrysler did use the slogan "The night belongs to Charger" for that generation of the Charger, but the real name of this special model is Limited Edition and was introduced as a "77 1/2" model. It is featured in the March 1977 issue of Motor Trend and its styling cues are the fiberglass roof with seemingly-recessed back window, horizontal bar through the opera window and the "Mirada-style" color-keyed horizontal slat grille.
Alex is little by little getting more comfortable in front of the camera and showing more of his personality. Its hard sometimes for a talented technician and artist like Alex is to embrace the whole shaking hands, kissing babies, and making friends persona, but he has a good teacher. And besides Dennis doesen't keep him around for his stage presence, but rather because he is a MFn wizard with cars. Love this show!
@@ArtVandelayOfficialsad how youtube deletes any comment about anything now im guessing the dude called him fat so they deleted it... he's not even fat dude is a tank but not in a bad way
I used to bowl with Jeep workers in Toledo back when American Motors owned the division and they had what they called " special order " tags for cars ordered by family members , friends or friends of friends and they would make sure that Vehicle was well taken care of as it went down the line .
Dennis is a Big Kid!. That is so great. Those candies were lost in time. The Gold Nuggets in that draw string bag took me back to the corner store in the early 1970's
I grew up in Arnold and recently I could have sworn that I saw there trucks near there and said to myself I wonder if that is coffe walk; I guess it was. Very cool to see my home town on you tube!
Love watching your content, Dennis sees the void to fill, an goes after it in such a happy great attitude. God bless your team for putting out such positive content.
Dennis is awesome as well as all the guys. I am shocked that they don't all weigh 300 pounds the way they eat. And all that candy? My sugar levels would be off the chart if I ate as Dennis does.
I think Dennis eats the way I do. When he knows he is going for a great Restaurant meal that evening he probably eats next to nothing the rest of the day or just salads or something. That way your total calories for the day are OK. Or else he is just one of those lucky buggers with the Metabolic Rate of a frightened Hamster! Enjoy Dennis, enjoy.
just thinking the same thing ,but it is a know fact that more skinny people have heart attacks than fatties ,i'm starting to get a bit worried about him .
We watch your show every week and love it... if possible it would neat to see Alex rebuild one... not over weeks like fast and loud but snippets of the build tied together into one program... thanks
My cousin had a 74 Dodge Charger that was a Highway patrol car. He was the third owner and I have loved those body styles ever since. I actually like them better.
Honestly guys. By far the best American car content by far on here. Every episode is a joy & Dennis is an encyclopaedia of all things automobile. Keep up the fantastic work!
As a teen in the 80's, my Dad traded his 73 GMC Camper Special truck for a 78 Dodge Aspen R/T with a 360 for my first car. So, I love the 70-80 Mopars!!! I'm so envious of Dennis because I wish I had the ability to hunt down and buy all these old cars!!!
The car that the gentleman referred to as the Midnight Special is a 1977 Dodge Charger SE finished in Eggshell White with white vinyl roof, powered by the 360 V8 that is paired with an automatic transmission. Nicely equipped with power steering, power brakes, and A/C. This car is one of only 27,000 produced with only 500 believed to still be around today! This car features the rare Limited Edition package which has the split opear windows in the rear, color-keyed front grille, landau roof, and a sunken rear window similar to the 1968-70 Chargers. Red cloth split bench seat interior with automatic on the column.
A video is good when I'm smiling ear to ear just watching. The segment at Redmon's candy store did it! Great episode, guys, y'all did awesome this week!

We have a candy store like that at the Jersey shore. When you walk in the place, you are immediately hit with a blast of that sweet sugar smell of heavenly goodness 😍 Nothing like the old school candies from our childhood 👍

Car and bike covers trap condensation underneath between cover and vehicles causing rust. I made the mistake of using a cover on my HD Road king in the garage for almost a year, luckily, I uncovered it to find chrome had rust before it got to far was able to polish and clean off. It will also accelerate pitting of aluminum parts.
I’d be beyond peeved. I have walked away from a hurried car before. Told them “you want to sell it, but we can’t even see it”! The excuses they give!!!!😮
As someone already said, the midnight special was an attempt to seperate itself from the upper-class competition. Apparently only 2300 made, they featured a fiberglass top cover and a different grill.
A "Midnight Special" is when they didn't have the correct parts, but didn't want to shut down the line. They would use what they had to keep the line rolling.

Hey Dennis. I really respect the way you pay people that aren’t involved with the sale when they help you with loading vehicles. Good on you.
