I like Seiya's discipline at the plate. He waits for his pitch at the right moment and he'll destroy that ball. That home run was just the beginning. Welcome to the big leagues S. Suzuki!
@@KirkDouglasRavagedNatalieWood I could see that comparison. Hideki Matsui was a beast. The crazy thing is that Seiya has the potential to produce even more dingers than Matsui in the majors based on mechanics alone. Seiya's swing is remarkably compact much like Trout.
I truly think he's gonna translate to the Show. He has all the things you need to succeed in MLB; Fantastic plate discipline against a very good live arm, true power to be hitting it halfway up the bleachers in April Wrigley, and seems to have a very good pulse of the game. He might struggle against the triple digit flamethrowers outta the pen, but he's seeing starters extremely well. Cubs could have a steal of a contract.
these three games he's played against one of the more formidable rotations in the National League has painted a terrific picture of his ability, I think he can have a tremendous career in the MLB
Congratulations 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏. Stay healthy and have a great career 👍. Hopefully CHI can have a good season when they do well for some reason it makes Baseball even better.
He was an NPB player with the best overall ability. I have high expectations for him. He will be unlike any other player who was a superstar in Japan but failed in MLB. So far, only Ichiro and Matsui have been successful position players in both Japan and the U.S.
Japan has a unique way of training people to hit baseballs it's honestly staggering that Ichiro was the first position player in MLB history to begin in Japan, it should've happened way sooner Sadaharu Oh hit 868 Home Runs with the Yomiuri Giants literally 100 more than Barry Bonds if he played in the MLB there would never have been a need for an asterisk

I genuinely don't get why more teams don't go for Japanese ball players. Yes, I know the talent pool is different over there than to here but if I get some players like Suzuki that have experience at the pro level in a country that really loves baseball and use them more so than some of these guys that grow up learning it's okay to strikeout and get .230 batting averages, I'm doing it.
That’s because most Japanese players aren’t as talented as Seiya Suzuki. Cubs gave him a $85 million contract even though he never played in the majors
