- Here's our First Look at Tier VI Pan-Asian cruiser Rahmat. Rahmat is a Dido-class light cruiser from the Royal Navy, theoretically bequeathed to the Republic of Taiwan. This did not occur historically - the only Dido transferred to another nation was sent to Pakistan in the mid 1950s - but it fills a gap in the branch and gives us our first look at this iconic British light cruiser design. There are some things to like about this ship as far as light cruisers go, but she definitely has some challenges that she'll have to learn to work around. Join me as we take a tour of the ship in port and compare her to her contemporaries.

AA defense: 4x1 40.0 mm., 5x1 20.0 mm., 2x2 40.0 mm., 5x2 113.0 mm.
AA defense short-range: continuous damage per second - 42, hit probability - 85 %, action zone - 2.0 km;
AA defense mid-range: continuous damage per second - 158, hit probability - 90 %, action zone - 3.5 km;
AA defense long-range: continuous damage per second - 63, hit probability - 90 %, action zone - 5.8 km;
Number of explosions in a salvo - 2, damage within an explosion - 1190, action zone 3.5 - 5.8 km.
Maximum speed - 32.3 kt. Turning circle radius - 580 m. Rudder shift time - 6.5 s. Surface detectability - 10.3 km. Air detectability - 6.4 km. Detectability after firing main guns in smoke - 4.3 km.

The Rahmat, as it exists right now has the Dido-class historical guns coupled to the A hull. The dev blog has said that in the upcoming patch, the guns will become a separate module so you'll be able to choose between the 133s or the 113s.
Nice, I missed that. That will be awesome to try.

It is an interesting line of low health CLs. I am most interested in the tier tier IX CLs Sejong and Dalian. Thanks for taking the time to put these vids out.
Huanghe is an Arethusa class light cruiser known as HMS Aurora and was bought by the republic of china then defected to the PLAN and has older mk 4 guns that was gifted by the soviets
playing this on the live server now, aa is the main issue. if something like a ranger catches you out and torp drops you, 1 drop takes 1/3 of your health off.
it's fun to play but you need to position yourself well, and have something spotting for you. carry power is limited and kiting is dangerous, booty citadels are common with the citadel placement. either stay in your smoke, or stay fast and vomit torps off cooldown.
actually this is something I'd like to get advice on. do I build for torpedos to maximize the gimmicks, but then the guns (particularly the accuracy due to mod selection) suffers somewhat. or build guns and throw out worse torps and just be a shittier dalas but with torpedoes and smoke. I'm leaning toward torpedo cause going up the tiers it starts to look a lot nastier.
Huh interesting. Looks like the didn't model the original Didos with the QF 5.25imch Mk I mounted that was used on the KGVs and Vangaurd's secondaries but HMS Scylla and HMS Charybdis that because they ran put of the 5.25 inch mounts they switched over to the QF 4.5in MK UD Mk III mounting that was originally used on Ark Royal before she sank.
And if someone said this sorry for being pedantic Sea Raptor.
This ship is so hard to play well with. Really short gun range, slow torps, slow reload and it's so slow most other cruisers will run u down. I really hope the higher tiers get better.
The torps may be a bit slow, but the fact that they're deep-waters means that the opponents won't have a lot of reaction time (3-4 seconds on average).
This name doesn’t suggest that it’s Chinese/Taiwanese at all. I thought it’ll fly the Indonesian or the Malaysian flag.... Rahmat pretty much Muslim rooted name. In Arabic it means “Mercy”
And since Malaysia has no representative ship in the Pan Asian line - it should be flying the Malaysian flag. We have a South Korean DD Chung Mu, Indonesian Irian, Gadjah Mada and Siliwangi, Thai Phra Ruang....

@The Alliance of Fledgling Naval Marauders it's not historically accurate obviously. I just meant that the name of the ship is matching Malaysia. Cause during the testing it was... Taiwanese. Yeah ....
@The Alliance of Fledgling Naval Marauders I have unlocked the Rahmat and indeed it has the Malsysian Royal Navy flag (sorry if I made a mistake in the name, correct me if I'm wrong).
WG are a bit all over the place with this one. None of the Dido's ever had 5 of the 4.5in turrets.
The Didos were supposed to have five 5.25 in dual turrets. (same turrets as the KG V dp guns but the turrets has some issues) But due to shortages the first three (Dido, Phoebe & Bonaventure) only had four turrets, Dido later got her fifth. Charybdis and Scylla had to make due with four 4.5 in (113mm) dual turrets. Dido later had the fifth turrel removed due to topweight and stability issues. For comparison the Atlantas displaced 1,000 tons more.
It's a Malaysian ship, it was received from the British and now it's a museum

Hms malaya is an Elizabeth class bb. I don't know if it has ever reached malaya or not

Question, is the early access for these ships coming next patch or the one after that?
Not sure, I don't think they've said for certain. My expectation, though is that it will come after the first of the year in 0.11.0. WG typically does two complete patches of supertesting for new ships and ship lines.
hmmm lol? 23K HP, torp protection 4%. What's the t8 Japanese torp boat's torp damage per torpedo? isn't it in the 22K range? 1 of those and sayonara!
This review painted a ship as being maybe moderately playable, possibly fun, but with some definite warts. Looking at the actual released version in front of me, worse main gun reload, and worse range, worse rudder shift, worse continuous damage by AA...etc, etc. So instead of a wart, the ship is actually a turd.
Rahmat is the name of a pakistani writer if I'm not mistaken. That taiwanese flag is wrong placed. The name is also common in Indonesia, Malaysia, Afghanistan and Iran.
Yeah, the name definitely didn't sound Taiwanese. The Pakistanis were sent HMS Diadem and re-named her PNS Babur, though. So I'm not sure where "Rahmat" is coming from.
@@SeaRaptor since the name is popular in asian countries with muslim cultures it could probably be a generic name to represent all of them.
@@dmathiass I feel like it should best represent Malaysia, since there was a ship in the Malaysian Navy named Rahmat. Said ship was scrapped about three or four years ago.

Those citadels being small is WG definitely tweaking these to be incentives to pay for early access...
