I understand. Most are basically sweet people but can be incredibly materialistic, stubborn, and lack any spiritual awareness. My mom is a Taurus. Trying to have "deep" conversations with them is so disheartening and frustrating. However, like another commenter said, it's not always what you like but what you need. As annoying and shallow as my mom can be, she really is a good provider and often stops me from spiraling into extreme pessimism. At times her refusal to acknowledge the darker/sadder realities of life is repulsive, but sometimes her rejection of anything less than positive thoughts has helped.
